How was your 5:2 day today?
This is really a tough one. It's hard to be home with out your DH and the stresses of the kids going back to school...and to top it off, your starting work next week also after 7 years of staying at home....Most antidepressants take approximately 3 weeks to feel any relief but what's more effective is getting out of the house and going for a long walk to clear the mind. Perhaps you can get a babysitter for a couple of hours get a break. Hope you feel better soon. As I'm reading this I realize that I need to also take my own advise. I'm finding myself feeling overwhelmed and eating when I'm not hungry. Had to curtail my wanting to eat last night when I wasn't even hungry. I'm so addicted to chocolate brownie Quest bars and keep say I'm not going to buy them and then I do....... and I eat them. Gained 2 lbs since yesterday so this morning I'm back on track I hope. Supersweetums thanks for sharing with us what your going through. Keep sharing........

No Alcohol
I was told that someone died from drinking alcohol after wls. But I do have a drink every now and then and it does effect me a lot quicker than before. It also gives me a stomach ache after too. I find that after my wls, everything affects me different than it did before....Even pain medications too..........

You will still have restriction later on. You might go to the Veteran's forum and read the posting there. That will give you a lot of information to prepare for maintenance.... Stop worrying about all this stuff and eat healthy and the majority of your diet high protein with veggies... Sit back and enjoy the ride, this is the time......... Any questions please feel free to PM me....I'm almost 2 years post op....

How was your 5:2 day today?
I had put new batteries in and stepped on the scale a few times in disbelief. Today I got back on the scale and it told me I had gained back 5 lbs. So done with the scale. Basically only ate protein for the day yesterday too. I didn't get in as much water as I had the day before so I most likely lost water weight. The good news is, at least 1 lb stayed off.

Ate 1660 cals yesterday, am in full panic mode
My BMR is 1328.05 on the first and 1322 with a TDEE of 1817 on the second. MY BMR's are very close with the two calculators. If I actually eat that many calories, I will for sure gain weight.

1 week and significant muscle loss !
I was told at the hospital upon discharge to not take my vitamins for 2 weeks. I learned that the most important thing for the first few weeks is to obsess over getting in my fluids to prevent dehydration. I actually started drinking protein shakes about 1 week post op and just a little and then gradually increased. As for muscle loss this soon out, I don't believe I had muscle loss, I felt weak but that's because I wasn't getting enough protein at the time. My body could live off my fat reserves before eating my muscle....I wouldn't worry about it right now. Take care of you and get your fluids in. The rest will come in due time.

How was your 5:2 day today?
GT I couldn't go for 30 days without weighing, I'd have several panic attacks. LOL Happy Birthday Swizzly! Today I got up and weighed myself. My scale said I lost 6lbs since yesterday. I weighed in at my lowest today ever at 142.2. I did reweigh myself a few times and it came out the same. I am not sure I can believe this though. I think maybe some of it was water weight???? This so confuses me. But I really want to believe it....Is it possible to lose 6 lbs by fasting 1 day? Is this just my body readjusting to everything. I will have to wait and see what tomorrow's weigh in says.

Natural obsessiveness?
This is so funny.....my husband and I do the same thing too.....I love challenging him to think in different ways.....but he is a stubborn guy and does come around in due time...BTB you are doing fantastic and if you can ROCK your sleeve and make all the changes in your life regarding eating, you can definitely get a degree. It's also fun and stimulates you in so many different ways....Hope to hear your doing it. BTW LilMissDiva returned to get a degree in nutrition too......

How was your 5:2 day today?
GT: Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a lot of fun..... I've found myself resisting logging the food that I eat still......I need to get back on track with that...... I am finding that old habits come back really fast and I recognize that I am eating out of boredom when I'm not even hungry..... Something in my brain keeps telling me that I need to eat.......So I will be adjusting that..... This is totally hard work. I had to put new batteries in my scale and at first it scared the P*** out of me. It said I had gained 8 lbs.... So I got back on the scale and it readjusted and said I had gained 1 lb.... So that's much better....Today is my fast day and I will be drinking a lot of tea and crystal lite. Will be increasing my exercise by going to the mall and walking.....and avoiding the See's Candy store for the freebie chocolate. I have found myself quite lost with what to eat so I have been researching what other's eat on MFP. Thank you Georgia bc I love what you eat. I seem to have been stuck on protein shakes and protein bars and those are quite high on calories for fasting days.... Have a wonderful day everyone!

Natural obsessiveness?
BTB I can tell u that u do have the traits of being a bit obsessive! LOL I can also tell u that u are extremely intelligent and totally capable of earning a college degree. It is life changing. I stated back to college at 33 years old and finally got my Master degree in Counseling. I also have a BS in Psychology. I had to focus on one class at a time bc I had a fear of failure. I should clarify, I focused on 1 semester at a time. I look back and am amazed and proud of my accomplishments. I is my professional opinion that u can do this. BTW I am basing my advice on past posts I have read from u. My saying is "just do it!"

Does it really matter?
I have seen posts like this go on forever and ever and people going back and. Forth. We are all entitled to our opinions and our rights to express ourselves. We all come from different communication styles that one person may love and another person will absolutely hate. This is life on this forum and in the community. I focus my life on positive thoughts. When I see post where the topic is conflicting I do read because I am interested in behaviors. OP u talk about others being judgmental. Well everyone is judgmental and it's ok. Everyone is capable of taking care of themselves, after all we've made it this far in our lives. We are all caring loving people that want to help each other. I think I've rambled on. Sorry. Let's enjoy our health and the horrible side effect of skinniness! I am totally enjoying my skinniness.

Why are my readings not coming down?!?!?!
I would start by doing a liquid diet before your surgery to help decrease the chances of having a fatty liver. By doing the liquid diet, your A1C should drop. Does your medical insurance cover a visit to a nut or dietician. Perhaps your doctor can order some bleed workup to determine if you have a fatty liver. Good luck and can't wait for you to join us on the BIG LOSER'S BENCH!

Why are my readings not coming down?!?!?!
These are supplements. I've read in many articles by RD and nutritionist that these are helpful in lowering blood sugar. I do believe that it has helped my DH with lowering his BS. It's worth giving it a try...

talk about stress eating
I have the same problem when I'm really stressed out. If I don't sleep I'm so hungry. Oh and if I don't get enough fluids I'm hungry. Grrr!
