  1. I drink Premier Chocolate High Protein Shakes. It has 30 gms of protein and is delicious. Your doc is giving you a target in quanity. I don't know anyone who can actually get that much food in at 4 months. Don't push it, eat until you get full and I also have trouble getting in water so I buy the low calorie G2 Gatorade and dilute with H20. It helps a lot and is low calorie. You can do this and you are probably in a plateau which is totally normal for now, but it is time to switch it up.
  2. CONGRATS! It's such a beautiful journey!
  3. Actually the liquid diet can be a pain but it is in reality a short period of time. It's all in changing your thoughts and eating patterns. I look at the liquid diet as a break for my stomach and liver in it's daily functioning. I chose the Sleeve because I was diabetic and scared that I would loose some vital functioning such as eye sight, losing a limb, or a diabetic coma. I know that when my blood sugar is out of control, then I have such a huge hunger that is unmanageable. I watch my husband in this vicious cycle on a daily basis. I found myself thinking before the surgery that I was doing well at losing the weight, so maybe I don't need the surgery after all. Then I caught myself and reminded myself about how often I lost weight just to put it back on plus more. Reality struck home. Even on the AM of the surgery, I had thoughts of canceling and just going to Breakfast with my hubby and son. I didn't, and I had the surgery and it was the best thing that I have ever done for myself. No more diabetes and my blood panels are all within normal range now and that's a blessing to have better health. This is worth it for me. I even recommend it to others.
  4. This sounds like a fabulous idea! There are so many things we wanted to do when we loose our weight. And it's really awesome when we accomplish these things too.
  5. It is so frustrating for me. I am still at my bounce for the past 2 weeks and am so frustrated with it. I weigh 152.2 this am and that's including the 2 lb bounce. URGGGGG! Oh well, it is what it is and today I am going back to basics. I will be doing The Basic Bootcamp diet with today and tomorrow being all liquids. Oh and I'm getting ready to go exercise at the gym. 1 more week to get to my goal weight.
  6. Contests we are ROCKING our sleeves in unison! Yayyyyyyy to all is sleevers!
  7. It's so frustrating when we compare our weight loss with others. I didn't weigh myself or come on this site until 2 weeks after my surgery. I just trusted that the weight would come off. I really miss those days. K can't do it anymore. Always looking for a decrease in numbers. It's a horrible obsession I have now. . But hopefully keeps me on track. The weight will go down as well as the numbers. Congrats u are already a success in my book.
  8. Comgrats'. It gets better from here on in. Try to rest, walk, and sip water.
  9. Enjoy ur sleep and take full advantage of ur morphine drip! I did and had no complications.
  10. Before surgery vit d was really low. So that proved and I started taking vit d every day mow even though I get bit d in other forms.
  11. I don't take ba vita. I use the regular form but make sure they are small capsules or caplets. I'm 7.5 post op and have no complications from vitamin deficiency. When early out I used pudding or yogurt to help slide them down.
  12. I arendehydrated. Drink as much water as possible and get some Gatorade in. Drink, drink, and drink.
  13. I had a really vivid dream about a month ago that there were lumps of hair falling out in my left hand from the left side of my head. I was telling my hair dresser and the lady sitting in the chair told me that someone in my extended family was going to die. My FIL passed away within a month. So sad.
  14. Some day I will post of picture of myself. Just need to take them. I am always procrastinating about everything these days. I love everyone on this site! We all Rock!
  15. Each and every case for wls is different. To get a more accurate answer to your question, it is best to consult with a wl surgeon. That is his/her scope of practice and they have the best answers. If you go on youtube.com and I believe it is Dr alvarez from Mexico that is open to questions and he will get back with you. I like his videos bc they are very informative.
  16. The vanilla isopure powder I purchased at GNC vitamin store. It's great for cooking with.

  19. Call them ASAP! It's time to be assertive and go for what you need! Let us know the results.
  20. Hopefully you can take tylenol. It will be hard to stop cold turkey, but you can do it! You have a great plan of action and will be highly successful. With reduced weight, your pain will be eliminated. Let me know how your doing on your pre-op plan.
  21. The only thing I've heard about VSG being hard on the liver is if you have a fatty liver and the possibility of the fatty liver getting nicked during the surgery. If the doc's not concerned about hydrocodone and you are still some what anxious, check with another doc and ask for his professional opinion. Especially the pain doc that prescribes the meds.
