Well so far, 17 months out I have lost about 65 lbs. and have not gained it back.!! Mind you I haven't lost any in months and believe I need to work harder which I'm doing. I love sweets and fatty foods as well, but reality keeps reminding me "whats good for me" I had doubts the band would not be restricitve enough... The band is a tool and you have to work with it and keep in tune with your body and mind... Good luck and welcome to lapbandtalk. Edit to add I do not regret getting my band
  3. This is the first year we took a group shot...in the past it was only the kids. :laugh Merry Christmas
  4. Ya, My mom thaught me to always have some food/drinks for guests and all my friends say to quit cooking...so I have. Vegis and cold cuts is about it now. I had to stop putting food first. We're not going to stave. An other thing I try to do is only eat when I'm hungry. I'll take hand made anyday..That's one thing I've been teaching my daughter.
  5. Michelle's not kidding...she was freezing in Vegas Keep warm
  6. Hello Theresa, Congratulations to you and your sister Lori. My mom was well over 400 when she passed on, but it was from Breast Cancer well over 42 years ago and before we had the advances we do now. Congrats to your Mom too. Bless her heart.
  7. Hi there, Dr. Cirangle in SF is about the least expensive (12K) in the Bay Area, Leatha is right. Dr. McKeen SJ does my after care, I went to Monterrey MX for my band placement, I believe McKeens total with after-care is 22K. Good Luck! I live in Morgan Hill..PM me if you want more information???

  9. I've never met Erin, but I have met Lisa, and would LOVE to be Lisa's lunch buddy. Erin doesn't realize what a wonderful thoughtful caring person Lisa IS. I miss you.
  10. Wow Leatha...That's like me...I can't live without my caviar conditioner and mousse! It takes 5 hours for the whole perm treatment and technique used on my hair and I only have the top section done at about every 7 months. Lately I've thought of the Blow dry style, for just a change, but know it aways drys out my hair. Babs do try more Vitamins, my stylist says the excess vits go to your skin and hair??
  11. O My Goodness RITA my heart is with you . I'm so pissed off
  12. Mis Lisa Bumpin for Lisa .. I Love you doll.
  13. As far as Taxes... If your (out of pocket) medical expenses exceed 7.25% of your total adjusted gross income, You can write them off on your taxes. At least I was able to last year and received about $2,200 more back then if I didn't have claimed them. Like always....verify with your tax professional. Betty, What's that new law they passed on the weight loss deduction? Let me know if you find out anything on that. Thanks On a good note I'm almost done paying off my band!!!
  14. Congratulations Tracy
  15. When I was two years old my grandmother tried to slit my throat Whoa...these tales so sad and true are getting thick and hard, so many sad, trying times those have gone through have shaped our lives, the imprints they left on our minds
  16. 1.5cc's is the recommended size for the first fill and right at 7 weeks. Are you burping alot? Restriction anticipation...
  17. I'm with you Rebecca...I'm thankful for having somewhat normal relatives??? Momster should have never had kids but I'm so glad she did, Lisa! We love you so much.
  18. Thanks for letting us know and yes I was wondering how she was. I’m glad they ruled out Cancer but I hope they took a biopsy as well to confirm that. Diverticulitis is small pockets in the wall of the colon. Bacteria, waste … can harbor in these pockets. Have her avoid seeds and nuts. Also a high fiber diet is usually recommended. I don’t know much, but have plenty of Colon knowledge even though I don’t have one any more. I hope she doesn’t have too much pain or bleeding, any colon related problem could be very painful. Do give her a big Hug at Christmas and let her know my thoughts are with her. :Bunny
  19. I feel warm and fuzzy and connected to these wonderful people too. Thanks again Rebecca, you are special!
