  1. Happy Birthday Sweetheart. Glad to hear your day was fun!

Thanks for all the prayers, we feel the Love. It has been a real emotional time for all of us. I think tears would roll every 5 minutes for the first 2 days. Karen is the youngest of 4 siblings, her sister Kristy who is 5 months pregnant is very distort, they were best friends as well as sisters. They even shared the same birthday. The funeral is set for this Wednesday so there is plenty of time to prepare even though no ones ever ready for a funeral. The odd thing to me is that she had requests if she were to die even though she was only 21. She wants to be cremated (after the funeral), close caskit, she doesn’t want any one to see her dead, and we’re not to wear black. The corner has sent samples to the pathologist and we won’t know the conformed cause of death for 3 weeks. It was noted that she had a slightly enlarged heart. When she fell (found between the tub and sink) she landed somehow on her chin and has a very large bruise but no blood came out of her mouth... There was some discussion that her heart may have stopped before her fall, possible explaining that her blood was no longer pumping? Thanks for all the concern and prayers, we certainly felt them.

Thanks so much. Give all your babies love for me.
  4. My sister could use some prayers today. Her daughter, Karen 21, my neice, slipped in the shower and was found by a waiting freind (they go to college together) that said she was in the shower too long. After calling 911 they tried to resuscitate her for over an hour with no luck. My niece who I just saw 2 weeks ago at a wedding, sat right next to me at the dinner. She knew about my band and we spoke often about WLS. I told her about Sue and her DS surgery as well. Karen was about 280lbs and maybe 5’2. We don’t know exactly how she died and is having an ortopsy. I will be missing for awhile and ask for those who pray to keep my sister Helga in your thoughts, she’s devastated. I’ll let you all know more later and thank you for your love and support.
  5. Hi Blu Are you the same Blu that use to live in Arizona or New Mex? If so, welcome to California. Who did your TT? I'd love to see some before and after TT pics.
  6. I didn't get a Secret Valentine but it won't distress me. I'm in!
  7. I'm so sorry Penni. Do you think it might be colon related? When I had colitis I didn't want to eat cause I didn't want to feel the pain of it coming out. I sure hope it all gets better. She's been through so much and you too. Get some sleep and take care of yourself. Saying prayers for both of you.
  8. I'm so happy for you!!! I lost my sister to breast Cancer when I was 28 and she was 36. I watched her fight for over 2 years, very sad. Congratulations for not smoking! When I quit I had 2 ladies praying for me and I knew I had to do it. So I will continue to pray, one day at a time.
  9. :faint: Rock on!

  12. Gastric Sleeve would be my choice if my band would have to be removed. I have done research on this for the last month. I believe the Phobi ring was put on Randy Jackson?(American Idol judge) along with the Rny.

  16. Agree with Paula If I had to have my band removed I would have the gastric sleeve done. I could never do the Rny because I don't have a colon.
  17. Sorry if I interrupted....when I called to tell you it was on the air. I should have known you knew all about it:D I want her wardrobe!!! She doesn't wear the stuff twice anyway. The chidren seem to like each other's mom. I'm going to start taxing 60% allowance, wait a minute my kids don't get allowance.
  18. Hi Sweetie I got your PM but I’m responding here. Yes, my band was replaced, here is my story that I often tell others that inquire: My old band was an AMI-swedish band that was installed 8/14/03 by Dr. Sanchez. After about 6 months and 4 fills I had a flouro/X-ray check which revealed a kink in the tubing. Well I suspected a leak, and then confirmed it over 4 months later in mex, because Dr. Sanchez recommended I go see him. At that visit the tubing was repaired and I was given a 7cc fill (big band), a month later my doctor (McKeen) here in Calif. did a flouro fill and that's when we saw that the repair didn't work. Back to mex I went and Dr. Sanchez decided to reband me, free (the makers of the AMI band paid for it). My leak was in the tubing. Do you know for sure it’s in the band? Did they do a leak check under flouro? Could you see the contrast/omnipaque leak out? Slow leaks are hard to detect and can sure make you feel like your going crazy getting fills and slowly loosing restriction. I recently replied to Barbara who thought she was going to get a new band due to a leak, and then when her doctor operated, he started at the port and found the port had a crack. Replaced the port and she’s as good as new. Full band replacements are rare from what I’ve seen. I was at a point were I didn’t want the AMI band anymore or a defective band/tube. I wanted it out and wanted the Inamed band. Plus my doctor didn’t want to see me back again with any other complications. The best part was the recovery was so much easier for me. I was up and walking minutes after waking up. Good luck and keep us posted!
