  1. Tell him you want the test - and if not schedule it on your own - but get the cost up front - you may even want to have it done at another facility if it costs too much - also get the fees associated with reading it. I had initially planned to have a leak test at 1 week post-op, but my Mom passed away and my self-scheduled follow-ups took a back seat. No leaks but a big scare on the plane ride back to Houston after the funeral. Read up on it and see what you think. My doctor was not going to put in a drain but I insisted. I would be more concerned if a doctor was unwilling to do it if you asked - that shows, in my optinion a combination of arrogance, being very inconsiderate of the patient, and overconfidence as well as a revolving door-like attitude toward patients. To say you are willing to risk 1 out of even 5000 patients to a leak because it hasn't happened yet is not very reassuring to me, profesionally speaking.
  2. You need to call your doctor and have an Endoscopy done, now. My mom had those symptoms the week before she passed away - I am not trying to scare you. They think she had a vein bulge in her esophagus and it was creating a blockage (they think). My Mom passed away from a espohageal embolism a week after my VSG Surgery.
  3. I hope to never wear mine again! (I was a 26-28 when I was married to my wonderhubby). I wear it on a silver chain "made of finest silver from northern spain" - lol do I give my age away?
  4. What does he like to do that could get you outside enjoying the day? Maybe an evening at an outdoor theatre or concert at the beach? Spend a it on some good cheese and chocolate and wine? or an evening at a vineyard? Hmmm...google groupon and see what they are offering locally - I get mad discounts for sooo much stuff! I just bought two day passes for paintball for 60$ - and two mine-and paint- classes for 65$
  5. Remembering mine! Ugh!
  6. I have a B complex every 3 months, and it contains some extras but I think they are more for Iron, Vit. D absorption (aided by sunlight) and such...It isn't a weight loss shot. Lipotropic protiens help break down fat I think...but not sure if injecting them helps. Curious to see what answers you get.
  7. That is awesome! Think of how much money you saved!!!
  8. Do what you know you can, and give it a few days. Don't push it to the point of doing too much...maybe a timer would help?
  9. I was riding my bike very shortly after my surgery. The only thing I can caution about is to really take into account what a serious spill could do to your tummy.
  10. OMG I have to get out my ice creammaker now!!! lol.
  11. LOL! I do that too!
  12. Lol - i did have one - but it wasn't cancerous, thank god!
  13. I married my Hubby almost 10 years ago. I had met him at a size 16 or so, and was almost a size 30 when we married. He never gave up, always loved me... I remember wishing I could be a size 16 again when we were celebrating our Honeymoon. I will be at most a size 16 when our anniversary rolls around this year It is a very good moment when we realize we can be what we wanted to be for our loved ones. Yayyy for you!!!!
  14. Go to MyFitnessPal and sign up - I suggest you do, anyway. Keep track of everything you eat, and make sure you understand te size of your portions. Make sure you are getting in a Multivitamin everyday. get in your fluids! The point of keeping track of your calories is to be sure you are getting ENOUGH. Different than we are used to. Aim for at least 800, in my opinion. And be patient... I have said it before but go buy a tight fitting tshirt so you can "feel" it getting lose over the next several weeks. Many lose inches while stallin gon the lbs!
  15. This is great news! yayyy! you are so very almost there! It's maddening, isnt it? lol.
  16. Getting psyched up and ready give away more clothes, and recognize myself in the mirror a little bit less, lol. I crossed the border to Onderland on April 24th, and I have denounced my citizenship in Fattsville. Now what??? If you go from January of 2011 to now, I have lost 83 lbs. I was sleeved 1/4/12 and most of the weight was after the surgery, but I cound January 2011 since it was the highest I had been in awhile, and I started my last "diet" at that time - even if I did not know I had started the big final ball rolling at the time. Soooo now what? I think my next goal will be to see if I can get to the 100 lbs lost mark. That would be 17 lbs from now, but it seems a reasonable goal. I have issues with my metabolism (I stall just thinking about a diet) so my weight loss has been a bit slow, but I have an enormous sense of calm after the surgery, because I know I can wait the stalls out now. I will win, not my appetite. I don't know when I will hit it, but 17 lbs in 3-4 months will be great. If I could clear it by the time my Hubby returns from Israel (he will be traveling for work for awhile very soon) that would be interesting to see what he thinks 17 lbs more does to my appearance. Wish me luck!
  17. I love water aerobics but unfortunately cannot seem to find anywhere at all that I can get to a class on my schedule
  18. That news made my whole morning! Good for you! It is so nice to be able to see people doing what I hope to do, and in turn the people after me, and so forth. What a blessed place we have here! Keep it up, or off, I guess I should say!
  19. I had a NSV like this and it was awesome! Mine were old-school converse japanese knee highs...laced them very close together! It feels sooooo good to be able to do things like that! yay for you, for all of us!
  20. I hope it isnt like real rabbit pellets - my rabbit eat their poo!
  21. Try drinking some juice too - real juice, like orange or grape - just 2-3 oz is plenty. You may need to restore some minerals and such.
  22. Give Mootopia a try. it is a supplemented milk. half sugars, lactiose free and 12 g protien for 8 oz...add that to unjury unflavored and it is great, and 32 g protien.
