74 Days Post Op...ok To Drink Alcohol
I would experiment at home before you go out in public, and keep the TUMS handy. Remeber alcohol can affect you in some really different ways now, especially after losing weight and maybe going off meds. If you are going off meds, you need to consult your pharmacist rather than your NUT. For me, for example - I am not considered diabetic anymore, but I had an atypical diabetes anyways, and I still can dip soooo very low, and alcohol aggrivates that, but I can never tell how much.

Lisa's Hope

High School Reunion This Sat!
I would say nay on wine that early - wine is soooo acidic. If you do, then try it maybe Thursady eve to see what happens. if you get too giddy, or get sick! Thursday would give you friday to recover.

Pre-Op Weightloss Wow!
Yes you can lose alot quickly - some of that is water, but yes initially you can. You want to taper off the extreme loss soon, in my opinion, to give your body a chance to adjust and such. i say only "soon" because some people have more of a need to be at least at a certain level of weigh loss than others (knee pain, or blood pressue, diabetes and other co-morbidities), so your want of steady losss may be bettered by a rapid decent to a healthy(er) weight.

My Nutritionist Just Called Me An "anomaly" :/
I can tell you you sound really similar to me - I have been doing a little better after the surgery but I have a metablic condition that my body kinda "tricks" itself into needing just what calories I happen to be providing - and if it is "excessive" in what it is interpreting as enough I have seem weight gains at 1000 calories a day. But seriously - here is the deal - something in what you are doing is just not quite what it seems - be very thorough and careful. I know this from experience. I do not respond the same from 1000 calories a day of 30+ are carbs as opposed to 10 or so carbs. I have to have excessive amounts of Water. I canot eat highly processed foods. Thing is, if you aren't snipping around the ends, then it is just a long process - but with the sleeve you will lose. It has become an invaluabel tool while I wait out my stalls and literally outstubborn my metabolism.

Nsv & A Weigh In Today...
I am wearing a pair of size 14's to work today. OMG! I am not even sure where they came from - I think a friend may have left them a long time ago! I found them while getting ready for my yard sale. Hubby has been gone about 10 days, I do not think I could have wore these jeans then! and today is weigh in day - I wonder if I have broke my stall...wish me luck. Everybody - keep going! Wherever you are don't stop! Good luck & God bless!

Vision Changes Anyone?
I think I need an eye exam, but it has been awhile sine my last test (for correction). I don't know if it has anything to do with the surgery, my guess would be no relation or very little.

How Much Weight Before Clothes
I have seen 10 dress sizes go away and I have lost 80+ lbs. BUT I was very triangular shaped, almost retangle, so alot of it has been directly off my waist and such. Depending on where you lose it will determine sizes...but I have noticed that people who say this may not realize how much they have lost in thier face, or thighs, or lower hips, etc.

Not Sure What To Call It...but I Am In The 300's!
I call it wonderful! Very happy for you! You did mention that you thought you could be more strict with yourself. Now would be a good time to catch any bad habits you are keeping and get rid of them for good. At first you can still get away with things if you want - I have seen many posts to that effect, but later you will need the discipline and good habits for your sleeve to continue to help you. But again - Yayyyy!

Afraid I Won't Tolerate The Foods I Like Now After Surgery
You may or may not have any want for your favorite foods after WLS - but what you need to ask yourself is do you need the foods you are talking about? if they are healthy things I would say you will still want them, as most of us seem to begin to want the better, more nutritionally valuable foods as we progress. Our head hunger can be another issue. What yo uneed and what your head tells you you need are two different things. This topic is actualy more core to many people than I think we realize. We need to use out tool, or sleeve, to help us control the things we "want". Don't be afraid if you can't eat something - just focus on what you can. Just my opinion

One Pound To Onderland!
*jumping up and down* OMG - I remember how that feels! Sooo excited for you!

Different Company Names, Same Product
There could be other reasons, but often is is an option offered by the wholeseller/producer so that it is more difficult to price compare something. It also keeps people from doing what you did - finding it on your own. Many will continue to pay a doctor, because they can't "find it anywhere else".

Boobies
My bewbs are sooo ethiopianesque! Def gonna need some surgery there .my biggest issue there is I have developed a fold that is under my arm as well...ugh... Did have a friend who mention that just a lift would leave my bewbs at about a small b- and hubby looked so sad! I may end up with silicone as well.

Spacing Out Surgeries?
Just be sure the doctor and your nutritionist feels you can still get in enough nutrients to heal.

Exhaustion Lasts How Long?
If you had lost your tummy another way, you would probably qualify for benefits and such for an injury and surgery...take time and rest. Especially if you body is telling you to do so. When you spend a lot of time on this and other forums, you can lose sight of what a serious surgery this is. Again - take your time.

Medicare Will Not Pay/support The Sleeve
I would discourage the lap band, especially if you would have to jump through Medicare hoops to have it removed if you had problems.

Spicy Not Nicy
You may just have a spice or two you can't stomach anymore - Nutmeg is bad for me, for instance.
