What was your most recent NSV? (non-scale victory)
I was chasing a volleyball that got away from my stepdaughter down ahill and my jeans were literally sliding off. Had to keep yanking I cannot remember that happening in my life

Food becomes not an option for me when things derail. In fact my band gets upset when I do. Does this happen to others too? Had to find new ways to cope. Clearly my appetite is dimmed. And at times I just can't control what my band will do. I'm ok with that most of the time. Can't fight it. So I let it drive????

LapBand Forum going away?
I like stories about maintenance because that happens to be where I am at. Pre op. I can't contribute much as lots has changed since dec 2006. I'm open to listening to ideas... Struggles... Jokes. I just find it a different category the first months of post surgery. Things certainly change years down the road. Just me

LapBand Forum going away?
B 52 I notice that bands are being placed less also. The WLS group I'm in has 2 out of 40 banders. I respect all forms. Truly. It is just big differences in outcomes, cost, recovery, weight loss so it is harder to relate. It's exciting to read honeymooners stories first year in. I would like to see more veterans post. It is quite different 4-5-6--10 years out And I like seeing how people cope. And NOT with band removal. Sigh. I'll stop now. I am thankful????

Would you have WLS again? What kind?
Lab You are very smart about how far surgeries have come... And where we might be headed... Could be a simple amount of over absorption??Or a turn off switch for those with much hunger. ???? All I do know is I'm thankful for the band dimming my appetite so I could get a grip on health and exercise. I felt like I failed every other diet and this afforded me success for almost 8 years. That. I am thankful for????

Why are some weight loss surgery patients so clueless?
Cowgirl Really well put. For all of us .....the "honeymoon" ends at some point and it is on us to continue to make good choices. This is a harder issue if we are non compliant. I read that about 1/3 of WLS patients regain their weight. Could this be so? Does anyone have any facts about this? Or which surgery most likely to have regains? Anyway. The point of having all those pre surgery tests and classes could be to weed out a few that do not seem to be ready 8 years ago I had 1 pre class and one meeting with the nut. The drs wife. Not enough info Glad it has changed

- I GOT A DATE!
Congrats. New year. New you! I bet your partner and son get even more healthy next year too. It seems like we truly affect the whole family. How exciting for you. Keep posting- FINALLY! I have found not one but TWO things I **HATE** about my sleeve.
Love my heating pads. Have several in different places in the house to use. And electric blanket to heat the bed before I get in. Not too cold once I get warm. What's with my feet being so cold? I used a hair dryer the other day because my toes were icy and couldn't warm up. Worked well. And I'm in California. Now I understand those people who go to Arizona for the cold months. Sorry to those who truly have to brave the elements.- After 2 years! Finally found my word.
Journey is ok. Path is good. Choice though is what I use. We all have choices we make every single day. They can't all be good choices can they? But .. Oh.. 95% of the time I'm in control enough to make good choices for.... food...........Exercise ...words I sometimes don't think through enough. But that's 5 % I'm trying dammit. Oops- Fiber and 'Keeping Things Moving' (Toilet Talk)
I'm with the smooth move tea and prunes group. I think it is a byproduct of surgery to have inconsistent elimination- My Surgery is In 4 Days/Food Addiction
Matt Good luck with trying a new tactic. Those old diet yo-yo ones can be gone. It is SO FREEING to not be hungry and driven to seek food! That is what lots of us get w/ WLS. It is my hope for you❤️ The world looks different after. It is so worth trying. I was so tired of being tired and hungry and over 250 lbs. I found a new weight. Health. And a way better life!!! We want that for you! Keep posting!!- 60+ sleevers please help
Can I play in this group too? Technically I have 5 weeks before I turn sixty but I like a more.. Ahem... Mature post. Much luck to the younger set. But it is a bit different after menopause and other fun stuff that comes with age. I am banded. Coming up on 8 years and altho it has challenges I would not trade it ????changed my life - Would you have WLS again? What kind?
