  1. I find the support groups very helpful. Even years out. I must admit that the pre op or newbies take a lot of time and have long winded rants and advice(!) Perhaps a new group for seasoned vets would be helpful for exchanging info for years to follow. Thanks for the info????
  2. Sorry no home improvement projects here. But... I had my check up w/ the doc in San Jose Glad to hear 8 years ago, the band I had implanted was improved from previous models. He said it could stay forever. Yippee just knowing it is there helps... And a bonus was I lost over 5 lbs since I saw him earlier this year. Wasn't expecting that. Except I was chasing a ball down the street a couple weeks ago and my pants fell down. That has NEVER happened in my life!!! In my former life I couldn't wait to undo my pants!! (Bought a smaller size today)
  3. What great fun! I'm guessing it is much different than if you had gone years ago ( or even if you would have gone) congrats on a fun reunion
  4. Nice pictures. Great job working on yourself. What a healthy new year you have coming. I'm sooo sorry to hear your dodgers can't buy baseball magic. Us Giants just have it⚾️⚾️⚾️
  5. Good post@kindle❤️. All so true and us seasoned ones have probably been through the majority of the stages you mentioned.... That said. Saggy parts and all... I wouldn't change my WLS choice for anything. Yearly check up for me Monday. No surprises after 8 years. Hopefully... I am thankful for my community of pals. Even if I couldn't pick you out of a crowd if one! I lean on this board almost everyday ????
  6. Have a wonderful trip Jim.....you have earned this vacation that you planned for 2 years.???? Those jeans are a hoot! What a change in health and image you went through.Congrats
  7. You You look like a different person. ...and I suppose you are. Congrats???? I hope Your next year is smooth sailing. You deserve it!! And PS. Did your ass disappear or is it a mystery?
  8. I so agree gr8. There was a period of wondering how I would cope without my favorite stress relievers. How my life was going to be different The unknown. However a HUGE difference is removing the insatiable hunger. Food is just not so important I learned. I don't obsess about meals....It is just what I need. Big mind shift that I wish for all. So glad I changed my life. For years and years now. It can be done with some help. Best of luck
  9. Some days I can barely take care of me and my 2 cats....
  10. Happy for you! 2015 will be great and you will be healthy... Besides vanity ... Your health is truly the reason to change your life. Keep posting.
  11. 14 seems so "normal". ???? congrats. Whatever that is to most. It seems common here and to most of America by my eyes. Wear it proudly!
  12. Often I come here for my daily inspiration. Very thankful there are many who share ... Looking forward to 2015. ????
  13. I, too, am living vicariously through others in grand parenting . The best news is my 25 yr old ( youngest) is engaged to be married in May Very excited.. And she adores him. So if the oldest ever grows up....in a few years I'll be ready for the next step. Trying to just adjust for now. Happy for those who embrace grand parenting ????
  14. Congrats walker. ????Fun is on the way and a healthy grandma is sooo important
  15. Hoping for a healthy new year for you Good luck!????
  16. Mac Thanks for some song suggestions. I need a new workout list... And also birthday wishes for a healthy year????
  17. I second that emotion! Hey I think that is a song ❤️????
  18. It has been years but I do recall having soup while I was out.. Said either I'm not too hungry. Or My stomach has been a little off today If you don't make a big deal about it. They shouldn't notice.. we hope Good luck
  19. Lisa I am sending you a personal note. I think I truly know how you feel. I also lost my wonderful husband last May. Turned my life upside down. I try not to post here too much about my loss ...I save a lot for my counselor❤️
  20. I also like my new balance shoes. I got a man's size as they run wider and I need that. I found a pair at Marshall's ... It might help to be sized by a professional. ( you don't have to but their brand) so you know just what is right for your feet. I found out one foot is longer than the other. Who knew?? Good luck. I'm of the opinion we all need sturdy well fitting shoes to help us
  21. I will miss my kids... Both working.. I will have a normal size dinner AND some dessert. I worked out hard 2 x this week and will add one more before Sunday It get much easier as the years (8) go by to not worry about over eating. These are the first holidays I'll be going thru... (widowed suddenly earlier this year... )So I'll be sad .. But food isn't my coping mechanism.. I'll just stay sad and have to feel raw.. Enough ... I'm thankful for family and friends and I do depend on this site almost daily to learn something. Thank you to all????????enjoy your time
  22. Yes !!!51 when I was banded. (Almost 52). That was 8 years ago and I would not trade my process for anyone or anything. Changed how I "fit" in this world Good luck!
  23. Great year. !!!! Lots to be thankful for huh? How about not driven by hunger? Or thinking ( obsessing ) about food buying prepping shopping cooking cleaning. Lots of energy to save. And $$$. And for me, not feeling like I failed each time I tried to lose weight. Just " normal". Whatever that us to each of us. ????????congrats! Enjoy your posts.
  24. Good point CG. Anyone altering their body with WLS needs to know that it is also a mindset change. Can't stay the same and have big changes.... For long. After the " honeymoon" ends, there are choices to be made ????I'm thankful
  25. My 2 cents worth.... ANYONE having surgery to alter their body. ....Better think deep and hard about altering their mindset. I get that food addiction is very tough to manage and mostly unsuccessful. Unless you get a tool to help... Short term WW. Jenny Craig etc will work. I had enough of feeling like I failed for years. I have reviled in joy and health for 8 years and will support anyone who chooses to truly change their life ....in any positive way... Just me
