possible complications
Wow I am on alert. I'm going thru banded life blissfully since 2006. Some small issues but really healthy.... Makes me realize this could change. My doc looked up my band. Said it was one that could stay forever. Really hoping it can. Very easy on my eating Trying to not stress it at all. Any advice on how not to lose a band???

THANK YOU ALL???? I get such nice feedback and advice here. Not many people can discuss some of the topics we touch on here I feel very safe putting my emotions out to our site. I don't have friends that have had surgery. Harder to explain to the general public Thankful for understanding and I always appreciate tips for going thru this life banded....

Skin shrinkage
Of all the elective surgeries mentioned and tried, it is my opinion eye surgery is by far the "easiest" in terms of time and recovery. It does take a few days at home , some cover up make up and sunglasses for a week +. In terms of looking fresher it is A-1 in my book. People think you've been on vacation. Or lost a few pounds... It is surprisingly deceptive if you don't share. And lasts a long time I opted to get permanent eye liner after several months post op and am still happy 5 years plus down the road. Love this site for chatting surgery... Not many people talk about it in the real world... Just girlfriends???? Oh and my hint is get upper and lower done together since most of us are unlikely to go back and afford a second eye surgery????

Liz, re : pics How can you wrap your head around how small you are? The dichotomy of jumbo person to little (dare I say tiny) mid aged woman must have been confusing until you adjust. Would you say you are head and body aligned? Just wondering...???? Great picture

Thank you. It is the most joy I've experienced in 9 months ....my friends and my bander buddies have helped ease me through???? I am trying to ease into widowhood And of course coping now without abusing food....or anything... But 2 pineapple/cocoanut/vodka was fun last night....and the balcony overlooked a gorgeous wedding at sunset. Another chapter that I was not ready for and here it is...isn't that how life is?

Sorry to hear about snow back easters. I took myself to heal in the islands and I am happy after a rough year. Back to reality soon. But I used the gym and ate properly and all is well. Oops. Those piña coladas don't count right ?

I am constantly amazed at how little food I can live on.
I'm chiming in also. I find it amazing on how few calories a body can use in a day. Never thought I'd be almost bothered by having to fuel my body on busy days. Makes me very conscious of how much I adore my band.... Hunger derailed every diet I was ever on pre surgery.

Stay warm and dry east coasters. And pathetically, we are entering drought year # 4. I thought yesterday's game was quite entertaining. Did not really care who won... But exciting???? I cannot believe it is February Time does help heal some

at the table or on the sofa?
Sometimes I need to stand up and just take a few steps when I start the first food of the day... And sitting back just a bit is better for my digestion also. Keep learning with this band.... Glad I'm not the only one

How many Wardrobes have you gone through?
I think you are lucky to have a great tool and super lucky to have Mom around you???? Now that I turned 60, I do see my friends parents failing. My dad is bed bound going on 4 years. Mom has been gone 10 years. Count your blessings????

I'm sorry you have more grief. Divorce is painful. Losing an older friend hurts a lot too. But now to have to reveal private info. How dreadful. I like lisacaron advice about the privacy issue. And DO remember why you cannot live with this man anymore.... Sigh. Wish your mom could remember why also. You need some things now from her..... (Love support and documents)Most likely she will at some time need you too down the rocky road of life????

I'm in Swell Hell, and other musings from recent plastics
Happy to hear all sides of plastics here. Thanks for all the practical advice. I'm gonna need it in march My youngest son is getting married at the end of May. Hoping to have some results by 3 months out. ??? Sounds like we all do differently with these procedures

Anyone have to reboot and essentially start over?
I agree. Hard to understand how people are able to "eat around" the band. I'm thinking if your properly adjusted, too much food would just 1)make You very uncomfortable 2) make me vomit 3)make me feel like I wasn't being serious if it happened more than a few times I truly don't understand but would be open to listening to how regains of all weight loss happen. It could happen to any of us not working our band right I suppose. I see it on this board a lot????
