  1. I would go get checked out at an ER. An unpaid bill is nothing when your health is at risk. Good luck!
  2. My belly is sounding crazy! There is growling and gurgling and it's LOUD! I don't know how I am going to get through my first day back to work tomorrow. I am on full liquids, including protein shakes, so it's not like there is a lot of digestive work to be done! The gurgling (and gas) is constant no matter what I take or what I do. Tried Gas X, been walking... Any other suggestions or advice on what ta heck is going on in there?
  3. How fun! I can't wait till I am to the shopping point!
  4. Have you tried Gas X? Lots on here seem to swear by it.....
  5. Hope to are feeling better soon!
  6. I just took one week off and should be returning Monday. While I feel pretty good, I am still on the liquid diet and have zero energy. Monday I can start protein shakes and cream based soups, etc. sure hope that helps! As it stands right now.... A week was maybe not enough time.
  7. I had my surgery Monday and I am still having this pain that comes and goes just below my breastbone and into my chest. It comes without a reason, meaning drinking or not, active or not. It lasts less than a minute and is almost like a "contraction" feeling. Any ideas?
  8. I am feeling pretty good. I still have some pain, like having sore muscles, and there still is a pulling feeling sometimes when getting up from a lying position. Today is the first day that I really am wishing for something more... like protien shake or cream soup. Not till Monday though. What about you? Hows your pain level?
  9. I was banded on the 20th too, but I don't get to start cream based soups till Monday. I am looking forward to it!!! I LOVE tomato soup!
  10. Well, I check in tomorrow morning at 5:30 for surgery. I was not required to do a pre-op diet, just clear liquids and the "fun prep" today. I have my broths, SF popsicles and SF jello ready for week one. I don't add protien shakes till week 2. Mixed emotions this evening. I am excited and happy one minute and the next I think what in the world am I doing???? I sure am thankfull that I stumbled upon this site.. everyone has been so helpful and informative. Its scary kinda cuz I have read peoples recovery stories and they range from being up and about, feeling great first day all the way to being dead would be easier! I guess I can just hope for the best! Wishing all the rest of the February group the best and speedy rocoveries to those yet to go! See ya on the other side!
  11. Wow... good that you already get a protien drink! I have my surgery Monday and I don't start shakes till day 8. Just the clear liquids the first full week! So glad to hear you are feeling better!
  12. I know I have seen something on the Realize band on here before, but I can't find it again! Anyone here have the Realize band or is everybody Lapbanded? I am hoping to find out if the experience is similar to what I am reading here. If you have the Realize Band I would love to hear from you! Getting mine on Monday!!!!!
  13. I also have Tricare Prime and the surgeons office told me it was probably going to be required, but, I didn't have to do it. I think they are re-doing some policies and that may be an old rule. I would ask them to submit it and see what they say. I had my approval in 2 days! Good luck!
  14. Best wishes to out fellow "Februarys" tomorrow! Can't wait to hear from the brand-new you!
  15. But I am really second guessing this whole thing! I am scheduled for surgery on the 20th. That is just 8 days away. I don't know why I feel like this. I have had surgeries in the past and haven't really been freaked out over them. I am not afraid of the surgery itself, I think what I am afraid of is giving up food. Does that make sense to anyone? I mean, everything seems to revolve around meals. Birthdays, holidays, parties, and for that matter, Fridays! Fridays have always been family night out. Our treat. And then other nights... we are one of the few families that still gather every evening at the dining room table to eat and discuss our day. How are things going to change??? And, I'm gonna just say it.... I LOVE EATING! There. I love it. Am I going to be able to do this? I need this, I want this, I gave up smoking to be able to have this.. so why am I doubting it now???? Well, thanks for reading my rant. Any encouragment is appreciated!
  16. Hi! I was just looking through some older posts when I came across yours. I am in Huntsville. My surgery is Feb 20th with Dr. Foreman. How is everything going for you? Would love to hear your experience so far! Hope you don't mind, I added you as a friend, let's keep in touch!
  17. I won't be banded till the 20th, but I have been looking at protien items. I think that the light Baby Bell Cheese would be an excellent snack. I can't remember exactly the calorie and protien count off hand, but its on my shopping list, so must not bee too bad!
  18. Thanks for sharing that story! It truley is inspirational, noot to mention comforting! I am having my surgery on the 20th and have been stressing over the same subjects! Hope I have the same success! I hope you get your approval soon!
  19. Wishing you the best of luck! I am soo excited for you! I'll be joining the ranks on the 20th! Be sure to keep us February bandsters updated!!!!
  20. Hey Kassie! My surgery is the 20th too! I don't have to do any pre-op diet. I wonder why? Seems to be an important step to many of the surgeons others have. Maybe I should do it on my own the week before? Anyway... Wishing you all the best on your journey!
  21. Hi all! I got my surgery date today!!! I will be banded on the 20th, the day after my birthday! All day I have had mixed emotions... excited, scared, you name it! I look forward to hearing about everyone journey! I don't have to do a pre op diet and from the sounds of the posts on here I think I am thankful for that... but on the other hand, it would have beend good to build the discipline needed for after surgery.
  22. I am due to be banded sometime in February and I am sooo excited! I have been reading so many inspirational stories on here and have learned some tips and hints that will be invaluable. But, here's the thing... the more I read on other peoples experience, the less I know what I will be able to eat after the mushies. I've read no bread, no rice, no pasta, people have problems eating hambergur, and chicken. Even some posts where veggied have been a problem. I am getting worried that I will have no cluse what to eat and end up living on applesauce and protien shakes for the rest of my life!!!! I would love to hear some ideas on what you eat for dinner, and how do you handle cooking for you family and then not enjoying the meal with them? Thanks!
  23. Just an update... my quit date of the 4th didn't take. Smoked after just 23 hours. So, I tried again on the 9th. Today I have been smoke free for 4 days!!! YAY ME! I am sure now that I can do this. I still have the urge, but it isn't strong enough to throw the past 4 days away over. Thanks again for all the support! Look forward to getting a surgery date, possibly mid February!
  24. I am actually wondering the same thing. What do people say that have been banded? I have been told I don't need it, just diet and excersice, taking the easy way out... just a lot of things I don't really want to hear and I don't know how to respond to it.
