Someone Turn Me On To Best Tasting Protein Shake

I like the Unjury brand chocolate splendor flavor. But... I have just started Body By Vi shakes and that is soooo good. You can get in on Amazon.com. The the Body By Vi shake, I add 2 tsp of sugar/fat free instant pudding and it is just delish!

    First Fill 5Cc!

Just an update... I have the realize band and first fill was 5 cc. When I went for second fill yesterday, he was able to pull out 3 cc's. He said that the rest was filling the tubing and such. So he gave me 2 more cc's, so now I should really have 5 cc's in the band itself.

    Realize Band

I know I have seen something on the Realize band on here before, but I can't find it again! Anyone here have the Realize band or is everybody Lapbanded? I am hoping to find out if the experience is similar to what I am reading here. If you have the Realize Band I would love to hear from you! Getting mine on Monday!!!!!

    First Fill 5Cc!

I'm in Huntsville. I am still able to eat most anything I want. I do have an issue with any kind of meat once its reheated. And just a week ago I had my first real stuck episode on a bite of steak. Seemed to be going fine at first, but the colder the meat got, the harder it was to go down. I don't know if its all im my head or not, but the past couple weeks when it has been 95+ out, I seemed to have more restriction. Weird. This thing is definatley a learning process!

    First Fill 5Cc!

I have the Realize band too and my first fill was 5 cc. I go for my next fill on the 25th and I have no idea how much he will put in! I have had some restriction with the 5 cc's.

    Can It Really Hurt Me?

Yes, it can hurt you. There is a reason the surgeon gives you a specific diet. If you are really hungry, have more of the full liquids. Cream soup was a life saver for me. Be careful that you are actually hungry and not just "head hungry". Drink plenty of water too, as this will help keep you full.

    February Bandsters?

Well, after 3 long months, I get my first fill today. I'm a little nervous, but I guess everyone is before their first one. My doc hasn't really talked much about the diet after, hope he covers it today. Whats everyone else had to do? I am hoping this fill will get the scale moving again. In the past month I have lost just over one pound. So close to being in the 100's...

    Sugar Free Gum

I love Ice Cubes (peppermint) by Ice Breakers. I don't really think gum is recommended though. I haven't had a fill yet, but once I do I will be giving it up. I can only imagine how bad it would be to accidentally swallow it once I have restriction!!!!

    Pain In Port Area

I have that too, although its getting better as time goes by. I think it has to do with the stitched and your muscle learning to work with the port attached to them. Best to ask your doc though.
  13. My belly is sounding crazy! There is growling and gurgling and it's LOUD! I don't know how I am going to get through my first day back to work tomorrow. I am on full liquids, including protein shakes, so it's not like there is a lot of digestive work to be done! The gurgling (and gas) is constant no matter what I take or what I do. Tried Gas X, been walking... Any other suggestions or advice on what ta heck is going on in there?
  14. I keep up with bust, waist, hips, thighs, upper arm, and neck.
  15. I had read tons of posts on here before my surgery, all so very helpful. I did take my measurements before surgery so that when I seem stuck at a particular weight, I can measure and compare to what I started with. Its strange, but when I look in a mirror, I don't see a different body, but, looking at measurements, I know there has been change. I have not told a single soul what my numbers are, that information is just for me! I personally would have regretted not doing it. As far as your weight loss... by all means count your pre-op loss!!!! It is part of your journey! Best of luck to you!
  16. Has anyone else ever tried this? I have not had a fill yet so I have no problems eating it. You take 3-4 large apples a little on the tart side, peel, core and chunk them up and put into a gallon ziploc bag. Add 1/2 pkg of sugar free strawberry jello. close the bag and shake it up till all pieces are coated! Delicious! Satisfaction for that need for both crunch and sweet!

    February Bandsters?

I am so jealous of all of you Febs that are getting fills! I had my surgery on the 20th and my doc says he likes to wait 90 days before the first one. Makes things very hard cuz the only thing controling how much I eat right now is ME!!!

    Huntsville

I'm down 21 lbs since the 20th. Feeling good for the most part. What about you?
  19. I have been taking Celbrate brand multivitamins and calcium citrate since surgery. Never did like them, and its to the point now they make me nauseous. I think it is the fruit flavor along with the texture. If anyone has any recommendations I would sure appreciate it!

    Stomach Gurgles When I Eat

I had posted the same thing not long ago. I am four weeks out and it is much better than it was. Everyone has an opinion as to what causes it. I blame it on rebellion. Just my insides protesting the lack of food and then what is there is something healthier than what its used to being fed!

    Smoking

I had to be niccotine free for 6 weeks prior to surgery. Being niccotine free meant to patches or gum or anything. I did it, and they didn't just take my word for it! I had to do a urine test to check. Almost 3 weeks post op and haven't smoked! Good luck to you!

3 Weeks Post Op And Starting To Gain Weight

I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and am already feeling HUNGRY! My surgeon doesn't believe in doing the first fill till 90 days post op. Don't know what it the world will happen to my 15 pound loss by then! Trying to get through on just "white knuckle" dieting!

    Kidney Problem

I have Stage III CKD and my GFR is in the 50's. My kidney doctor said the surgery could only help my situation! He said the food I eat will be healthier, no more soft drinks, drinking more water, my BP would be lowered and much more! Just be sure to check with your doctor and see, as we know they all vary in their opinions and treatment plans! Good Luck!
