  1. Debbie, I think we should Thank You for hanging with us. You are truly a blessing to this group.
  2. Hey. Not doing too much better today. But I did manage to get in a take a shower. At least I smell better. Tracy, congrats on the -3lbs. How exciting.
  3. Me and my 7up are headed back to bed. Wonder if I will sleep for 14 hours like I did last night. Hoping.
  4. Well, so far I've had a half cup of chicken broth and it's settleing fine. Hopefully tomorrow I will be back to my old self.
  5. Hey guys, Thanks so much for the concern. We are all here, just not doing well. Sunday was a rest day from the walk. Boy my ankles were tender. But I bounced back fast from it. Monday morning I woke up a little quezy but did ok for the day. Then hubby called and wanted to know if I could pick him up some Flu medicine. As soon as he said that my tummy did the roll. So I came home and took care of him. Last night I crawled into bed at 9pm and slept for 14 hours. I've been in and out of bed all day long. My head is in a fog and I get dizzy real easy. My tummy is really uncomfortable and keeps rolling. I've kept down all the 7up I have been drinking. I just woke up a little while ago and hubby said my phone had been going off. Thanks for checking on me. Ok, back to bed. See ya soon when I'm feeling a little bit better..
  6. I love random post. Keep up the good work. Tracy, Missouri beat #1 ranked Oklahoma last night. Love that college football. Beautiful day here.Took the kitties for a walk out back and then I got the male one to lay down and I covered him in leaves. Just wish I'd had my camera at the time. It was too cute.
  7. MIZZOU, Sorry, just had to do that. Kat, anymore news??? I hope you were able to get some sleep last night.
  8. Kat, I was reading your first post and was starting to freak out. Then I got to the second one and my heart is now back in my chest and not my throat. Still very scary though. I will keep Rick in my prayers till he is home safe with you. Hugs.
  9. Home from my very first 5K. Bo am I going to feel this one for a few days. I couldn't get over how hilly it was. Seemed like the whole time we were walking up a hill. But it's done and we didn't even take the short cut. Hope you like the pics.
  10. Tracy, that's a loss. Even as small as it is, if you add all those losses up you get a huge number. Keep up the good work. We all know how hard it is. Home from the gym. Today is going to be a do nothing day. Well, not quite. The neighbor and I going out for margaritas later this afternoon.
  11. Shar, that is one of my favorites to snack on when I have a craving. It always seems to satisfy my cravings and if you eat it slow enough it stays with you. I'm home from taking sis grocery shopping. The weather is absolutely lovely here today. Nice day for a walk. But I have to go to work so no walking for me. But I'm gonna go out and enjoy what I can for a little while. We have a storm heading our way and the next 3 days will be cold and rainy. Debbie, I have a question for you if it's ok. How do you know where to put the cursor at? I got to thinking about how you would know where to click on to. Have a great day and Tracy, have strength.
  12. Good Morning everyone. Welcome Ashley, I'm Suzanne and I live in Missouri. I've been banded since "06" and lost 200 pounds but gained back about 20 after a recent surgery. I'm back to losing again, very slowly. I hope you stay around and keep us posted on how things go. This training for the 5K is going to kill me. Yesterday we did 4 miles and then I had to work last night. So this morning I took some Aleve and will take a rest day. Tomorrow it's the gym and do my upper body exercises. I was just thinking that if Trey came up here and stalked me, I would probably come in first place in the 5K. Think it might work?????
  13. Morning. No gym this morning, we are gonna go meet my friend at the lake and do the big walk there. Now they are calling for rain on Saturday. Hope I don't catch a cold. I ended up working a double shift yesterday. My boss had a meeting to go to so I took her hours. Jenn and I were thinking the same last night I fixed popcorn also then watched a movie. Kat, my sister has one of those chairs. I never sit in it because being as tall as I am, it is hard to get out of. The front dips down and you really have to push yourself up. She complains about the chair all the time. So it looks like I will be taking her shopping soon for a new chair. Cindy, sounds like you two will have a good time that night. I like when my friends and I act that way.
  14. Good Morning. On my way to work. Not as cold as Jenn here but it's only 46 degrees. Cindy, I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers. We have dealt with the diesease in our distant family and I saw how hard it is on the immediate family. I hope your Dad has luck finding a nice place for your Mom. Have a great day everyone.
  15. Hey. Went to work this morning and when I got back, there were so many leaves right at the garage door that I went ahed and swept them all down the driveway. When the wind blows, they come back in and keep the garage door sensors from letting the garage doors come down. While I was doing that my cell phone rang and it was a friend wanting to know if I wanted to go walking with her and the dog. So I drove over to the dog park and we watched the dog play for a little bit. We then took off walking on the path that goes around the lake. We got to the other side and asked someone coming the other way what the distance was. They said the trail was 1.5 miles long. So we did 3 miles plus the walking back thru the dog park. Man, I'm pooped. Now if I can get out of the chair, I'll get some housework done.
  16. Apparently the defense forgot to get on the plane to Texas. They looked like 3rd stringers. Oh well. We drove up to the in-laws and had a great time. The weather is just fabulous around here and we were able to sit outside most of the time we were there. Got to see a lot of people we hadn't seen in years. Lots of good food. My nephew was ther that had his band done a couple of months ago. He's doing great and looks wonderful. We ahd a good talk about what to expect. His wife is going thru the 6 month diet right now. I think she is going to have her surgery in April. I'm so proud of both of them. I have a big week this week, lots of training to do for my 5K.
  17. Morning girls. Tracy, so glad you had a great time. Sometimes I wish hubby and I did things like that. Bt we are just not gamblers, I guess I have no patience. But to just get away is good in it's self. Debbie, a slap-fest??? Make sure the camcorder is going. That sucks about having to move all the stuff in the garage, but you got lucky. we had them years ago and I had to move my Mom out while they treated the house. They said with her age and health problems that it would just be best to take her some where. So my cousin and I took her down south to go visit and Aunt and Uncle. Jenn, Jenn, Jenn, I hate that Kev has done that to you. I hope and pray that someday you will find yourself able to trust again but most of all that you will love and respect yourself. You are a lovely person and a great mom. You deserve to treat yourself better. Last night we went to a trivia party and had such a wonderful time. Our table had only had a 4 day notice that we were a table. We didn't have months like the other teams. Well, they elected me as captain and I sent out e-mails stating that we didn't have a lot of time to do a lot of shopping so here goes. We can either do a halloween theme or Chiefs. So we did the Chiefs. Good choice because we ended up winning first place for table decorations. There were 8 tables and at the end, we ended up in 4th. place. We moved up 2 places after I rocked at music trivia, I got 9 out of 10 right. And then again in general trivia we got 8 out 10 right, so those moved us up. But the last category we sucked at and oly got 2 answers right. That's ok, we had a blast anyway. The food was great and they supplied all the beer and drinks we wanted. Today is our prayer walk and what a beautiful day for it. It should be right around 73 degrees when we start. There is a nature refuge about 3 miles from here and you can pick any trail to walk. They give you some papers that the people from our church had wrote out their prayers on and you walk the trails praying for them. So my sister and I will head over to do that. Then we are off to Richmond for a small family reunion. I'm taking a pot of chili with us. It will be good to see a lot of these people. I haven't seen alot of them since my FIL passed away. But the biggest thing going on today is a good hearted friendly rivalry between me and "T". Her Texans are playing my Chiefs today. Don't make me come down there an whuup some A$$. Hope everyone has a great day. PS. Tracy, did you get the envelope I sent?
  18. Home for a little bit. Then hubby and I have to take off and get somethings done. Hope everyone is doing good. Anyone have big plans for the weekend? Me and Tracy are going to be rooting for the opposite teams on Sunday. Oh well. lol.
  19. I agree with Jenn, I love dirt cake. I made it years ago and the look on my Boss's face when I took a spoonful out of the flower pot was precious. Working this morning and that is just the start of a very extremely busy weekend. I'll check in when I can. Everyone do good, you know you can. It's up too us to use our Bands wisely.
  20. So, I was watching on the news "The Miracle at the Mine" and kept wondering why they were flying the flag of Texas right in front. So I went to Flags of the world and saw that the state flag of Texas and the National flag of Chili are almost identical. Who knew.
  21. Angela, I find after all is said and done, that I have done the best for me. I love my band and will never have it removed. I did a lot of research going into this and my decidion was not made lightly. It was a good year of research and meetings and appointments and talking with a lot of people to finally decide that the Band was for me. I know several people that have had the by-pass and did successfully lost the weight. However they were operated on years ago when the Doc did the surgery and sent them home with no follow up. They were not taught how to eat properly and had no support. So they eventually gained most of their weight back. One lady I know even went back to Weight Watchers to loose the weight again. My Doc is very well know in this whole region. He is very supportive in many ways. He offers nutrition classes, support group meetings, exercise classes and so much more, all at his expense. He treats us like royalty but he also treats us like we should be. He knows that we have struggled for years with our weight and that we know what we are supposed to be doing. That we know we should not be overeating, eating the wrong foods, not exercising et. etc. There have been times that I have even thought to myself, if I had made the right choice. It doesn't take long for me to remind myself that I did. It took over 40 years for me to pack this on and I know it's not going to take me 40 years to take off, but it can take me awhile. I don't want to drop it lickety split. To me that is not healthy and can undermine weight loss. I will take my time with the band, we are friends now. I agree with Kat in that if I ever needed to have it reversed, I can. I can't if I had the by-pass. The Band comes with it's own problems. Constipation being my major one. It certainly doesn't have the problems that by-pass people have when they choose the wrong foods to eat. Constant diahrrea, horrid gas. I know I shouldn't be eating anything with sugar in it, but I can. By-pass people pay dearly for indulging in a little treat. And one of the best things like about it is if I start to not lose weight or even gain, I can go in for a fill. Once by-pass-ed, that's it. You stretch your stomach back out, well I'm not sure what they can do for that. Not sure if you can have another by-pass. I too have learned to cheat. I too have also wondered why my Band doesn't just loose the weight for me. I walked into this knowing that I had to do my share of work. I have become lax in this also. If a persons head is not in the game when they have the Band, what make them think that it will be in the game when they have the By-pass. These are just my thoughts and I hope that I haven't stepped on anyone's toes. I'm gonna quit second guessing my decision and get back to basics and follow the orders I was given in the hospital. I have done tremendous so far and have a more to go. I will make it, maybe not tomorrow or the next day. But my day is coming, the one where I'm finally happy with myself and comfortable. Change of topic now...... I finally got my surgery date. Now just waiting for the hospital to call me to do the pre-op. It might be awhile for that. My surgery is Nov. 18th. I told Darrell that I was sorry but it looked like we would be having protein shakes for Thanksgiving Dinner. I have to have a complete unfill on the 15th and it will be six weeks before I can have any put back in. I don't need prayers for the surgery, I need them for the unfill. LOL.
  22. Tracy, how exciting. I will keep you in my prayers and pray that you have continued success. I hope you are very proud of yourself. Off to go mow.
  23. Hey Peeps. Home from our shift at the hospital. It was very interesting. Darrell got on our boss about us not having badges to get in the dept.. We haven't had one since one of the summer kids made off with it. So everytime we leave the dept. we have to ring the bell to have someone open the door to let us in. It has gotten real old with us and is a pain to the other people who have to stop what they are doing to answer the door. So he kinda got in her face about it and was asking who her boss was so that we could go to them to get his settled. She got on the phone and called someone to find out about get regular badges. We can't have those, they cost money. She has made attempts to get us one, she is just running into brick walls. So Darrell said he was not having anymore of it and whenever they got the badge situation figured out, that we would be back then. He turned around and walked out of the dept. They were all shocked. I told them we would be back and I took off after him. I told him we couldn't leave because he had to go do his TB test. So we went upstairs and realized that I hadn't had mine back in June so I had to get mine done also. While we were there the nurse was asking questions about my surgery and the Doctor who did it. By the time we finished, Darrell had calmed down and said he would go back to work. I sent him to the car to take a break and I headed back to talk to our boss. I explained to her that we had worked there for over 3 years and by now we should be trusted to come and go. I also explained to her that the place where Darrell had worked for over 30 years was the same place where he learned to negotiate with Corporate and if you didn't get what you needed, you walked out. Everyone walked out. I got everyone calmed down and we went back to work and everyone was relieved that we were not leaving. So for right now we have come up with a solution that fits all of us until the higher ups decide what they want to do. Right before we headed to dinner, our boss came back with a big huge plastic pumpkin filled with halloween candy. A peace offering to all of us. Oh great, now she's pissed me off. LOL. Gonna chill now.
  24. Stay away from the peanut butter pumpkins?????? A lady at work was telling me that Hershey's has a Pumpkin Kiss. I've been looking for them but thankfully I haven't found them, and hope I don't. Went to the gym this morning and then went to Wal-mart. I will be so glad when they are done remodeling that dang store. Debbie, Thanks for the post. It gives me a lot to think about. Kat, I've never listened to Suze. But I will go to her website and see if I can find that article. Tracy, keep up the good work. I know it's really hard but we are all rooting for you.
  25. I had a good eating day but I will admit that I did have a 2 inch by 2 inch piece of cake. No icing. So that is my treat for the day.
