  1. Saturday morning and I'm finishing my hot cocoa so I can go get ready to go to work. yuck. Went to bed real early last night and got a good nights sleep. I wasn't feeling real good and the Doctor said that yesterday. She said I might experience some cramping and discomfort. So I turned up my electric blanket and crawled in. Have a great day.
  2. Had my upper GI this morning and all went ok. Not that I ever want to go thru that again, but it wasn't that bad. I was however reaching my limit on drinking that stuff. One more swallow and I may have had to spew it out. Now to wait and see what they say. We left there and went to visit my cousin in the hospital. By that time it was snowing out. It was the hugest flakes I have ever seen. It was so pretty out. But it was also warm and it was just turning to slush on the roadways. We stopped for a quick bite to eat and than came home. I tried to take a nap but the phone kept ringing and I finally gave up. Now I feel like I may be coming down with something. It may have been the lack of sleep and being out in the cold, damp weather. So I am off to bed. Tracy, I hope you had a wonderful day.
  3. :musical_note:Happy Birthday to Tracy.:cake: Happy :eek:Birthday to Tracy:present: :cake:Happy Birthday Dear Tracy. Happy Birthday:rose: to You.  :cheers2:Love Ya Girl.
  4. Home from all my running around. And Kat you will so proud of me. The weather is really nice here today so I grabbed the dog and went for a long walk. I wore him out. It felt good and I enjoyed the weather. Came home and cleaned up around the wood pile and then swept the garage. Whew. Fixed me a baked potato with a little cheese and sour cream. Only able to get down about half of it. The grocery store is have a 3 day fish sale. I was only going to pick up 3 things and ended up buying fish and shrimp. Going to work now. Be back later this evening.
  5. Wow Tracy, that was a long post from you. And I enjoyed it. There's nothing I can do about it this year but I suggest that next spring we try to make a trip to Jenns. Maybe that would give us all time to save up for it. We can either do it just girls or families. I'm off to go take my Sis to her Doc appointment. Then we will go to the store and then home. Plus I have to work this evening. Everyone have a great day.
  6. Hey, Hubby and I got home from our shift at the hospital and there was a message from the Doctor that had done my physical last week. He said that the chest x-ray still shows the same as before but he wasn't sure if there had been a big change in the size since he couldn't find the last x-rays. Silly me, I haven't sent them back yet. So I will call him tomorrow and tell him I will be sending them out ASAP.
  7. Back from noon Mass and getting my Ashes. Now it's time to get dressed and head to the hospital. You know what I will be doing when I get home........Olympics.
  8. Kat the Angry one. LOL, LOL, LOL. Now that's funny. But I do agree with you, that is one of the reasons I hated getting the newspaper here. For over 20 years we were loyal customers. How come I have to call and get my name back on their throw list. At one time we did have this one couple that went out of their way to bring the paper garage door so my Mom didn't have to walk very far to pick it up. But after 20 years you would think that I would be a priority.
  9. Just got my Upper GI scheduled for this Friday. I've never had one done. Do you guys know what I am in for? They did say to fast after midnight. That's easy to do. Except I do like my hot cocoa. I didn't ask, can I have any water?
  10. Morning Girls. Sun is shining like crazy today but still very cold. Right now only 17 degrees. Hubby let me sleep in this morning so I didn't go to the gym with him. That's ok, I'll get my exercise at the hospital tonight. Speaking of the hospital. About a month ago when I woke up in the morning and could not swallow anything, I went in and hubby said lets get to the hospital. Well, I get a notice from my insurance company yesterday that they won't cover it because it was a "non-emergency". Hmmmm, someone not able to even swallow their own spit for no reason??? I had no idea what was going on. How was I to know it was not life-threatening. So if I thought I broke my arm and went in and they took an x-ray and it was not broke, would they refuse that also? Looks like I will be making some phone calls today. Other than that, it's laundry time. I'll check in later.
  11. After we moved into our house I attempted to get my hubby to get a dog. But our next door neighbors at the time had 8 small dogs and the otherside of us had 2 poodles. Hubby said that was enough dogs for one area, so we never got to have one. We ended up with kitties.
  12. Long day yesterday and I am exhausted today. Everything went well at my appointment. It actually should have been better but I'll take a 4 pound loss. So I'm telling Doc about the fact that about 3 nights a week I wake up about 2-3am and have to down rolaids. He wanted to know if there was a reason for this happening and I told him that if I ate after 7pm at night that I knew I would be waking up with acid in my throat. So he has decided to order an Upper GI. He said to rule out any possibilities of anything being wrong, no hitial hernia or anything else. Now I'm just waiting for them to call and schedule an appointment. Than I'm off to go meet my friend Judy and she picked an all you can eat salad bar place. It was really nice there and very clean. I tried some stuff I had never had before, like Jicama. I liked it. lol. So we sat a gabbed for 4 hours. She's my 8 week therapy session. We've known each other since we met in the pool at the Y. That was about 9 years ago. She now lives over by my Doc so the only time I really get to see her is then. We finished talking and then went across the street to Baskin-Robbins for some ice cream. We ended up sitting there for a long time also. Finally I got home in time to watch the Olympics. Got up early this morning a went to work and went to give my quarterly blood draw for my kidney. I then went to Wal-Mart and did my shopping. Came home, put things away grabbed my cat and got in my chair and took a nap. Feeling a little better right now. Tonight I have to go to the High School for their last home basketball game. My next door neighbor plays for them and it's Senior night. Kat, I'm all in on the exercise. Here is my problem with it though. I have pinched nerve in my left leg. I think it might have to do with my sciatica. It has gradually gotten better but it's been months now. I would love to get out and walk but there were times my leg would buckle on me. I am now up to being able to walk a 1/2 mile. After that I have to baby it again. My treadmill is in the utility closet downstairs. Whenever my sister and her hubby decide to move out, I will pull it back out and use it. Right now it is 24 degrees so walking outside is not an option. Plus there is still snow in someplaces. So that leaves me with work, going to the gym with hubby and housework to give me my fifteen minutes of exercise. But I'm going to make an effort to get it in. I'm also thinking about joining WW's again. Next monday will be the first chance I have to do it. I used to go on tuesday mornings and all those people want me back. But my older sis has decided that tuesdays would be a good day to schedule all of her appointments. So mondays will be when I can go to the meetings. They start about 45 minutes after I get off work so that will be easy for me. Loving the Olympics.
  13. Off to work and then a very busy day. Have a good one and try to be a model Bandster. LOL.
  14. Awwwwww Kat, snuggle time. I was making my bed this morning and I got to thinking about you writing about making your bed and all the pillows on it. I have just 2 regular size pillows and 2 pillows with matching quilt shams and then on little throw pillow. I like the looks of all those pillows, just don't think I want to mess with all of them. I worked most of the day on the quilt for the Project Linus group. I just need to put the binding on it. Hubby got his quilt done. He has one more to go. He's doing the fleece blankets. That was something he could handle. I'm so proud of him. I'll be gone most of the day tomorrow. I have my Docs appontment at 1pm and than will meet up with my friend and spend about 4 hours with her. So by the time I drive home, it will be late. But I will check-in in the morning. Back to the Olympics.
  15. Getting snow flurries right now. I70 is closed down in Kansas. Both west bound and east. Roads are very slick. The are telling people to stay home. Glad I am home. We are fixing shrimp for dinner. Some fried tators and salad. Yum Yum.
  16. Happy Valentine's Day to All of You. Happy Anniversary Tracy. Off to watch more Olympics.
  17. Went to the support group meeting this morning and decided to get on the scale there. Turns out I weigh 5 more pounds with all my clothes on. If that wasn't enough, I come home and my older sis got me so worked up I just wanted to stuff my face. Urgggg. Hubby said he just wants some chicken noodle soup for dinner. I love my Hubby. Off to watch the Olympics.
  18. I hate my scale. I haven't been on it for a week and decided to see this morning what it had to say. I know I haven't been the most model Bandster but Holy Cow. You would have thought that as good as I did this last week that it would have shown an improvement. Makes one want to just go dive in to the refridgerator. But I won't I still have a fill appointment Monday and still need to be on my best behavior. Last night we watched the Olympics and thought they were great. Beautiful job on showing the beauty of Cnanda and the singing was great. K.D. Lang has always been a favorite of mine. I love her voice. But my favorite part of it all was the Whales. That was so cool. I hope the ending doesn't overshadow all the hard work that went into the production. Canada should be proud. Off for a very busy day.
  19. Kat, that is so scary. I have never given blood. I'm anemic and they won't take it. But how scary wondering if it would ever stop. And then the drama in the bathroom. Sitting here watching the Olympics. I only watched the accident once. I can't bring myself to watch it again. How horrible for that poor boy. And tragic for his family and team mates. Would love to have some popcorn while watching this but it's too late. Can't eat this close to bedtime. Night.
  20. Watching Oprah and she had Lionel Ritchie on. Oh MY. I love his music. Got all my pieces cut out for the quilt and need to peice them together. Also got both fleece blankets cut. Now just need to show Hubby how to tie them. That's his part of this. Now to get ready to watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony. Can't hardly wait. Have a great evening.
  21. Don't be proud of me. If it wasn't for Hubby, I wouldn't go. LOL. I have 20 ounces of water down and working on my next 20. Really going to try to get my 100 ounces in today.
  22. Back from the gym and I really worked it out this morning. Now I'm gonna have a cup of hot cocoa and then get my houseowrk done. Today looks like a good day to work on the quilt. I'll be able to work on it again Sunday and hopefully finish it up. We are so excited because tonight the Openeing Ceremony for the Olympics is on. Hubby and I are huge followers of all the sports. We try to watch as much as we can. We are so in awe of all those kids. The determination that they have. I hope you all get a chance to watch them. Busy Saturday ahead of me. If the weather is ok, I will head to the Support Group meeting. I haven't been since October. Just seem something always comes up. I either had to work or it was snowing. Then we have a bunch of running around to do. I'll check in soon.
  23. Off to bed. I know Hubby will be waking me up early to go to the gym. Ughhhhh. But I'm glad he does. It's good for me. See you all tomorrow.
  24. Oh Jenn, I am so sorry for you. That totally sucks about your refund. But plaese don't give up on us. We will always be here for you to vent too. Pop in when you need. Take good care of yourself.
  25. I wanna go with Kat also. I wonder if Hubby would be up to taking the Harley on that long of a ride. It would take us at least 3 days to get there. Not sure but I think it would be about 1,000 miles for us. I'll go chek it out. Off to go do our shift at hospital.
