  1. I can understand. Here is what you do...write a list of all of the questions that you have for your surgeon and request an appointment to speak with him about having specific questions that you want to talk to him about. I would want to know those were answered before hand and NOT on the day of surgery. There is way too much going on and people to talk to, too much to remember on a day that is stressful and causing more anxiety. If you do a Q&A session with him, it will help alleviate fears and reduce anxiety. I am excited for you and I am sure it will go smoothly. Those anesthesiologists are good bartenders!!!
  2. Congratulations on your date set! I would definately clarify that and speak with your surgeon. However, to put you at more ease,....as a nurse, we are required to obtain consent with your specific procedure on a consent form that you have to agree to and sign. You will also be asked numerous times about the procedure you will be having by the pre-op team, anesthesiologist, and your surgeon. I am excited for you, and it sounds like the office needs better management. I am sure that is stressful. Be assured, they will not do the wrong procedure on you...if they do...you can own the hospital by the time you are done with lawsuits out the wazoo against all involved in your care. Definately let your surgeon know. Good luck and congrats!!!
  3. I really like the Premier Protein. I buy the vanilla because they are so versatile. If I want chocolate, I just add sugar free chocolate syrup. If I want strawberry, or any other flavor just add a flavored extract or some use also sugar free Torani syrups.
  4. @@Violet S. - Have they ruled you out for a stricture?
  5. Do you access yours via mobile or PC? For mobile version, I see less than on a regular laptop or desktop.
  6. I am 3 weeks post band and port removal and it isn't completely closed yet but looks so much better. He told me I would have to wait 8-12 weeks post band removal before revising to bypass, but forgot to ask if he would be using different areas for incisions. I would rather look like a pin cushion than to have him go in the same new incision sites and then have trouble with them healing.
  7. That is truly amazing!!! Congratulations! You can hear the excitement in your post! Way to go!!! Whoot!
  8. I don't like it either! They have a paid version now like everything else... maybe they put that in the paid version?
  9. I am married too, but couldn't resist not posting. I can tell you Chivalry is still alive today, I assure you, BUT ...for the first date. ...I agree with everyone to keep it light coffee, at the park (not parking) haha......or a group event. That way you can get to know the other without either having any pressure. A relationship should always have a good basis of friendship first anyways right? It is always the gentlemen thing to offer and pay the first time, but nowadays it's really not expected. The right person will come along when you least expect it. @@lisacaron - I met my husband on yahoo personals too!
  10. My preoperative diet is liquids for a week. They want the pipes cleaned out before hand lol
  11. That's awesome! Congratulations! !!! What's next any plans for more? Everest perhaps?
  12. I don't understand why women have to be like that. I look at it this way...they are obviously jealous of your success so they need to try and belittle you to make themselves feel better. Drives me nuts and no matter where you go, there will always be someone that will be like that. I am so sorry. Sometimes, we need a change to a different environment and new people. Congrats on your loss! Just ignore those unhappy beyaches!!!
  13. Granola bars might have too much sugar. What about some oatmeal?
  14. @ - how horrible. Spinal taps are awful! Radiologists do a much better job actually because they do more of them. Yeah it sounds as though you did have it rough. I am so sorry you had to go through that. I just had my eyes looked at on Friday and she gave me an all clear with no mention of increased intraocular pressure which is really good. However she did have to increase my RX, I guess I am getting blind in my old age haha!!! So until, I hear differently or experience more headaches, I will just try and watch my symptoms.
  15. I haven't had revision yet, but have had previous WLS before. I was only off work for 3 weeks and was walking around. You should be fine before wedding day as long as you are getting fluids, protein, and vitamins in. Just be a good girl haha!!!
  16. I was just at my surgeons office on Friday about that possibility. A seroma is a collection of fluid that collects underneath the skin in the port area because basically it leaves an empty space. He said that my incision looked normal even though it was pink and warm. He told me that if it starts to drain clear fluid that to cover it with gauze. If the drainage was purulent, then to call right away but in the mean time to watch it. Wounds like that have to heal from the inside. Eat lots of protein so it will heal faster. Keep clean. Healing just depends on so many things. If you are immunocompromised , it may take a bit longer. Example Diabetes will cause slower wound healing, also medications etc... Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it will heal quick.for you!
  17. I knew several nurses who worked for UHC as chart reviewers, the nurses were told to Deny...Deny...Deny. I have UHC as a secondary ins and I am having a hell of a time for them even picking up little stuff. They suck! You really have to appeal with them, they never want to pay. It's stupid. Thank goodness, I have good primary insurance.
  18. Check this link out and watch animation video. They came out with this 2 yrs ago. http://apolloendo.com/procedures/outlet-pouch-reduction/
  19. I was diagnosed by my eye doctor many years ago, but my primary care did a CT and that didn't show anything. So not sure really. Occasionally I have headaches and it is always on the right side of my head, but I really don't know. Which specialist diagnosed you all?
  20. Congratulations! You will likely lose more weight before wedding day, so keep that seamstress on hand so she can alter your dress last minute
  21. @@toasty I hear you! Lol I have heard that same thing. @@dannieeliza 15 pounds is very realistic. Congrats! I think the ins company just wants to see if a person can be compliant and show progress.
  22. Hmm, may have to try that. Where do you all purchase yours? Here it is purchased at the hospital pharmacy for $4.85 per bottle!
  23. @@Erron1970 - oh so glad that you have relief! I am so sorry you are still having problems with GERD. It really sucks. Ever since my band was removed, I feel soooooo much better! A few bouts of heartburn but nothing like what I had, it's been amazing! I wonder if the surgeon will go back in our previous port revision sites? Curious as to how many incisions we will have? I posted another thread about this question to other previous bandsters, but haven't heard anything yet. Did your surgeon go over that?
  24. @@kimmoffit - when you say nothing is coming out, are you constipated ? If you haven't had a BM since surgery, you may need to call your doc
  25. Welcome! Congrats on your loss!
