  1. I have the Vivosmart and I absolutely love it
  2. Anyone have this type of pain? It's worse when I bend over, so it is reproducible.
  3. Welcome @@Doubletruble#1 ! Glad to have you with us! When are your evals? I found out yesterday that since I will be a revision, I only have to do 3 months instead of 5. I started my supervised diet back in April so I have super exceeded what my insurance requires. Thank goodness, it is one less thing that I have to worry about. I would like to invite you to our private WLS group on facebook. I will message you with my FB ID and when you send me a friend request, I will add you to our group
  4. Are you getting enough protein? Usually getting your protein in will really help with hunger. 2 weeks is challenging.
  5. You look awesome!!! Great job!!! Have you tried changing up your cardio? Changing your caloric intake a bit for a day or 2? You need to confuse your body again by doing something different, which alot of times will break stalls. You aren't done. Keep going and be patient, the weight will fall off don't worry
  6. Uh oh what's wrong?
  7. It's none of their business. Good for you!!! I applaud you for your mindset! I used to be hung up on numbers, but years ago I learned that weight is just a number and the most important things are how you feel and how your clothes fit, if you can tolerate more activity, being able to tie your shoes without having to come up for air, being able to shop for smaller clothes, and being able to wrap a regular sized towel around you and it fit! Those are some of the things that matter. I am sure there are hundreds of more reasons. Congratulations on your success!!! Great job I really don't understand why women want a number. I think some women are so critical of others, jealous, envious, and competitive. I am not trying to win a competition, I am just trying to be healthy.
  8. @@Inner Surfer Girl. - I agree with you that pre existing conditions aren't an issue. However my secondary insurance is refusing to pay for anything bariatric related. How is this even possible? Granted, they have an exclusion for bariatric ,but how can they deny if it is already pre existing?
  9. How about a pizza shake?? Haha just kidding. When you graduate to regular foods, ......There are some great low carb options for pizza. Especially the crust can be made low carb, there are several recipes on pinterest. You can use turkey sausage, chicken Canadian bacon, low fat ham, turkey pepperoni, low fat cheese, veggies, etc.. and the sauce would be best if you make it yourself without all the processed sugar that usually is in store bought sauce. Just add herbs and Italian seasoning, garlic etc. Where there is a will, there is a way. Turkey burgers are really good and high Protein. Now if you are asking if it would be ok for pizza Hut pizza or a Sonic burger, then I would say....not recommended especially one month out. There are so many healthier options as mentioned above, it just takes a bit of extra effort to not sabotage yourself.
  10. I asked my surgeon this question. I don't have any issues but I did ask him if I should start with a MV with iron. He said that he will check my lab levels often and add iron if needed. Women tend to have more iron deficiency anemia than men due to our monthly menses. The B vitamins are critically important after bypass
  11. Craving fresh fruit and veggies and healthy food? I can't wait for that to happen! That's awesome! Now only if that would have happened back in 1983, I wouldn't be overweight haha!!!
  12. 4 trips is awesome! That's great progress!!!
  13. I called my surgeons office about the same thing. Unfortunately my office does not do that just in case the insurance doesn't approve. They can write it in my chart as my request, but they won't officially put it on the books until insurance approves. I can understand.
  14. Awww give your lab a hug from me!!! Dogs are truly the best friends. What an awesome story and congratulations on your success! You look fantastic!!!
  15. @@toasty I can honestly say, the last hospital stay I had, I didn't even bother turning on tv. I slept off and on, and had pain control issues. I don't think you will be watching much except the inside of your eyelids, but you can.
  16. That seems like alot. Try half. Have you tried the Turkey sausage patties? They are really good and have more protein and low calories.
  17. I had lap band removed 8/10, along with the port of course and he also removed alot of scar tissue from around the area. I went back to work over Labor day weekend and walked alot!!!! I noticed some residual pain on my left side deep, near spleen area (which is where he most likely removed quite a bit of scar tissue from). I have had twinges of pain on that side ever since I worked this weekend. I am beginning to wonder if there is surrounding tissue is inflamed and hitting a nerve there ? Anyone else have similar? I will definitely mention it to my surgeon when I see him again and hopefully he can fix that when he does my revision to bypass this November.
  18. @@recordsmom hahaha! That's too funny lol
  19. @@ebezi7908 - Chi town in the house!!! Whoot that's awesome congrats on your date and your approval. I bet you are super excited! Glad to have you with us! I would like to invite you to our private WLS support group on Facebook! I will send you a private message with my Facebook ID and you can send me a friend request and I will add you to our group for additional support! Once I complete my NUT and psych evaluation, then I will have my blood work usually schedule up to 1 week before. I am not sure he will do an EKG, since I recently had an echo done. I do need to get my Vitamin D levels re drawn this month because I was critically low and have been taking 4000 units supplemental for a while now.
  20. @@ByeByeAdipose That's great! Everything that is checked off the to do list always makes me feel like I am that much closer, and you are almost there! You should join us on our private Facebook WLS group! I will send you a private message giving you my Facebook ID and you can send me friend request and I can add you to our group. Would love to have you with us!
  21. I am planning 4 to 6 weeks. I have a combination job. I work at a desk, but walk about 5 miles at work too. This past weekend, was my first week back from band and port removal and I still have discomfort when walking. I took 3 weeks off and I needed all 3 of them. I am only assuming that I will also need double that for bypass.
  22. Good try. Don't try and get the answer from me. If you'd paid attn to all that was told to you during this LIFE CHANGING process...you would not be trying to to surf around for the answer to something as simple as why can't I eat and drink at the same time...seriously. What were you trying to accomplish by posting what you posted on this thread? If you weren't going to help her why say anything at all? If you have nothing positive to add to this thread then why comment with something negative? Seriously...since you know and remember everything you were told, help a sista out instead of in some aspects bashing people. Be of assistance and value. Your comments were really unnecessary and not helpful at all. Find some compassion for others. Just keeping it real.....Like I said...if you want to think i amRude and get your panties in a bunch...then I can't help you with that...I don't sugar coat what I say...learn the process before you make a decision like this one...and that would avoid you asking such obvious and stupid questions.... What may be considered stupid to one person, may not be to another. There is no such thing as a stupid questions. The only stupid question is the one that is never asked. Just sayin' I think at this point, you are one of those people that need to find some love and happiness in your life. I hope that some day you find it. Please don't belittle people because they ask questions that they don't know. This forum is to help and support others. If you feel like you need to belittle or degrade someone, you may need to find a totally different forum to respond with hateful remarks, but I can assure you that place is not here. Have a nice day
  23. Wow 6 months with nutritionist, that is incredible!!!! especially with all the info you can obtain. I get 1 visit with mine. But, with my insurance....I allowed 3 visits per year every year if I choose. Most people don't take advantage of it.
  24. I had my band removed August 10th and I have lost 8 pounds. I am currently waiting to revision to bypass. My surgeon even told me that I would probably gain weight after removal since my hunger and cravings will come back. However, I will not allow that to happen. I am still watching my calories 1500 or less and doing Zumba 3 times a week, walking, and dancing 4 times a week, and weight training 2-3 times a week. I have until November before removal and my goal is another 10 pounds loss before then. The only person that can prevent that from happening is myself; )
  25. That's great to hear! How did your appointment go? Did you get all of your questions answered?
