  1. This isn't even an issue. Just do your best to not do it again. You've got this.
  2. The bars to fill me up and keep me going for quite a while. Some more than others. Right now with the 8-6 fast I eat between 8am and 6pm. I have "cheated" a bit after 6, but I do my best to avoid it at all costs. Otherwise beforehand on a typical work day I would go to bed between 8-10, so I'd stop sometime before that.
  3. Sorta, I have a "light" time line that I follow during the week just because of work and all. But I do only eat when I need to. Today: Woke up at 0450 0515 Coffee with a splash of fat free milk and a splash of sugar free sweetener/creamer - unknown, 50 calories maybe? 0800 1 Larabar - 200 calories 1030 1 bag of Kay's Protein Kruncheeze chips - 130 calories That's it thus far, I'll try to remember to update as I go along.
  4. My eating BLOWS compared to you all. My *typical* day cup of coffee with milk and sugar free sweetner protein shake or blended fruit and protein shake kays naturals protein snack protein bar something for lunch, typically around 300 calories or so usually some protein based snack dinner another protein based snack or fruits sometimes I eat some Halo top, haven't been able to finish a whole pint in a while. Sorry I couldn't be more specific, I don't track anything, I just go off visual and "feeling".
  5. You neglected one of the most important parts of this. Water. Are you getting upwards of 128oz of water a day? The human body needs water to break down fat. So if you aren't giving your body enough water to meet it's typically daily needs, fat loss is going to suffer. You've got 3 kids, you can exercise with them as a game. Not only will you be getting your work out in, but so will they, and they will be happier and healthier for it.
  6. "Just keep sipping" Humans really do need upwards of 128oz of water a day... our bodies use water to break down fat, so if you aren't giving it enough to do what it needs to in order to cover the normal daily needs, fat loss is going to suffer. Keep a bottle with you at all times and just keep taking sips.
  7. There are quite a few posts about just this! So many people bring way too much. It's not a vacation LOL. Lipbalm Dry mouth spray Phone w/ charger and extra long cord Sweat pants Slippers Extra pillow. That's all I used.
  8. It's possible, but it'll be tough since you can't really do any carb or calorie loading. And the water thing, the 30 after is important for keeping the food in your stomach longer, the before thing... I don't see any reason for it really, I don't follow it and haven't had an issue. Not sure when you are looking to start this, but I'd wait until you are 6 months to a year out from surgery before you attempt the trek.
  9. I was revised from Band to Bypass. Something to think about, if you've got GERD or other acid issues... the Sleeve is *NOT* going to be the option you want to go with.
  10. So, I started my 8-6 IF Monday... already broken a stall and lost 2 lbs.
  11. If you do have a fever and it's over 100, get in touch with your surgeon or PCP ASAP. Otherwise, don't worry too much.
  12. I'd go with jealousy, ESP if they are heavy folk doing the chastising, totally jealous of your strength and progress.
  13. Looks like some serous drainage... wouldn't worry about it too much if it isn't hot too the touch or painful. No excessive reddening around the wound either. Do you have a fever at all?
  14. Typically the most vocal are those that are the most jealous, rather than ask for help or advice, they criticize. I do tend to make comments to myself or my wife about others choices now... but I don't say it to the person in question, no need to be rude to someone if there isn't really a need to do so.
  15. Some folks have issues with certain sweeteners and sugar alcohols. Could totally be that, still could be the lactose, maybe double a dose of the lactaid and see? Do you typically have issues with whole milk or ice creams?
  16. Never lost any hair... so it looks the same right now as it did pre-op.
  17. The higher the starting weight, the faster the initial drop is.
  18. Seems like you are very ready. Fear/worry/anxiety about the surgery is normal. Your concerns about your eating habits mean you've accepted that you have eating habit issues, that's positive step forward. Every time you feel you can't make it or are unsure if the choice, just remember all the reasons you wanted the surgery in the first place.
  19. SWIM was smoking/vaping a week post op with no issues. Coughing was controlled by putting pressure on the main incision. Zero nausea, Zero appetite control issues, Zero anything.... Cannabis is a fantastic medication for treating injuries and speeding healing times, reducing swelling, assisting with sleep, treating pain, etc. I personally am on Dronabinol for sleep issues (FDA approved THC pills), was taking them the night I got home from surgery, no issues. Most doctors/surgeons are going to go with the FDA/Federal rhetoric and tell you all these trumped up horror stories. The truth of the matter is, it's mostly lies to support why they made it illegal. But those that have used it post surgery all say the same thing, it helped out greatly and they had zero issues with using it.
  20. The **ONLY** Person that can tell you what you need to be eating is going to be your nutritionist. Nobody here is going to be able to give you information specifically for you, they can give you their diets and what they have been told, but there are pretty much NO doctors or nutritionists here telling folks what they need for their specific situation. You should have had or should have soon a 6 month follow up with your surgeon AND your nutritionist, if you don't have appointments set, make them.
  21. Approval from Insurances generally takes around 2 weeks on average to hear a reply.
  22. Can't really speak to the surgery's "worth" without knowing your stats. But overall, WLS is "worth it" when the risk of not having the surgery is higher than having the surgery. Everyone is going to have some second thoughts, reservations, fears, anxieties, etc over a major surgery, that's 100% normal. Just keep reminding yourself of all the reasons you want the surgery.
  23. What reason did they give you for canceling the surgery?
