  1. congrats! that is terrific! :Banane55:
  2. haha....no he doesnt sorry. he is truely wonderful. i am very blessed. i was fortunate to find him while i was still in highschool....yes that is right, a true highschool sweetheart. i know that i love him more now then i ever did back then, because i finally figured out what a great thing i have. he has also just gotten better and better looking with age. seriously! he is 6'2" 190lbs and has dark brown hair and steel blue eyes. he wears a short goatee, and short military crew cut! yummy! hehe :ciappa:
  3. i dont tell anyone for a few reasons.... #1) i dont tell people my personal business. i wouldnt tell them if i was having a hysterectomy, or something like that so why would i tell them im having a sleevectomy? #2) i dont feel like hearing the negative comments. even though some people may be supportive, i dont really want to take the chance of someone not being supportive. they are still there for the weight loss journey they just dont need to know the nitty gritty details. i get plenty of support from my hubby and my daughter, i dont need anybody else. im glad that you are happy with your decision though.
  4. only regret that i didnt get it sooner. i have waisted to much time being fat. i wish i had a time machine to go back and tell my younger self to do it then.
  5. to funny. i was never a big coffee drinker before surgery. so it wouldnt bother me if i couldnt drink it now. however, my hubby makes coffee daily, and i have had some and it doesnt bother me at all. i just think its funny that it isnt a big deal to me, and so of course i can have it.
  6. i am 3 months out today!!! woo hoo! the hardest change for me is avoiding sugar. i was a sugar holic....seriously. this is especially hard since most sugar foods are slider foods and go down really easy, with very little restriction. the second hardest is not drinking with meals. i was a big water drinker with meals. i would drink about 2-3 glasses of water at a meal before, and now nothing. so that is very hard as well. all of this and it is still soooooooooo worth it! :cheers2:
  7. i have tried potatos and it doesnt go down well for me. makes me feel like i will be sick. i hope i can one day eat a potato again!
  8. sounds like a good alternative. lets me know there is hope for thanksgiving.
  9. yes, i have been with my hubby since i was 15 years old. when we first started dating i was 5'9" and 120 pounds. so i was super skinny. when we got married, i was 18 and still weighed the same.....then i got pregnant and gained one hundred pounds! i went back down to about 160 and looked good...and he started getting insecure because we lived on a military base where there is like 10 men to one women. so yet again i got pregnant....and gained more weight, lost that baby, got pregnant again, gained more weight, lost that baby...never lost any of the weight from those pregnancy's and then got pregnant again. by the time i got pregnant with the 4th pregnancy i weighed 200 pounds again, and at the end of that one, which i didnt miscarry, i had gained another 120 pounds. he loved me the same at all of the weights, but i didnt love myself the same. i was discusted with my size. i think he knows finally that i have been with him for 20 years and im not going anywhere, not at 120 pounds, and not at 320 pounds. i guess we are all guilty of feeling insecure with something in our lives.
  10. way better!!!! whoo hoo! just discovered a position that used to be my favorite before weight gain, and havent been able to do in a very long time. i was just able to do it again loving it!! so is the hubby! i agree with the others that it is his self confidence going down worrying that other men are gonna start noticing you. my hubby has already told me that he is worried about that. i told him that i chose him before i gained the weight and there is no reason for me to not keep chosing him after i lose it too. he loved me through all of this and has been my biggest supporter. even when i was at my highest weight and i had to step on the scale and was obviosly worried about his reaction to how much i weighed he said to me, "dont worry about how much you weigh baby, i love you no matter what your size is." how could any other man take my eyes off of him when he loves me through thick and thin, literally.
  11. i noticed this too. nobody else has complained thankfully. however i can taste the nasty in my mouth. i am going to the dentist today for the first time since surgery and i am hoping that i dont make him puke...haha i hope it goes away!
  12. i am not a doctor....however i have heard the same thing before.. this is also why we are hard to operate on, due to the excess blood vessels we have an increased chance of bleeding.
  13. very handsome! you look so much happier!
  14. im 3 months out now and would love to go on vacation right now, i think you will be fine. i totally know what you meant by the seats on those airplanes. it totally sucked the last time i flew because i was so huge and squished in the seat. i could feel the people next to me hating me because i was so big and making them uncomfortable too. cant wait till the next time i can go on vacation and be able to sit in a little seat and not have to worry about being to big.
  15. i hope so...cause i have the same goal i wanna be under 200 soooooooo bad.
  16. i had a lot of the same problems as you. it lasted for about 3-4 weeks. every once in a while i still have it happen. the slim is from your esophogus. it helps foods go down easier. unfortunatly after this surgery it also comes backup easy too. definately skip the milk for now. i couldnt handle it at all after surgery.....now 3 months out i can just fine. good luck.
  17. i have been complaining of being cold for weeks now. i think it is funny because i used to be hot all the time. i would sweat all the time. especially on my upper lip, and as soon as i would put makeup on or do my hair. i havent been sweating at all anymore...just shivering. i have to take a hot bath to warm me up. i have to be wearing multiple layers all the time. i have been losing my hair a little. i have always lost lots of hair daily though. i have super thick hair....tons of it. so i think the hair loss isnt bad at all. except for it being all over my clothes. and i do mean all over. i do think that it is funny too that the pits, legs and bikini area dont seem to have hair loss at all.
  18. love this feeling! i am waiting to get my hair cut until i reach my thanksgiving goal weight of 215. almost there!
  19. most policy changes happen on the first of the year, just like new laws. i would double check to make sure, but that would make more sence. good luck!
  20. i bet you are elated and scared all at once. the weight you gained i would guess is water weight. you know how pregos can retain water. make sure to be taking your folic acid! #1 preventitive for neuro tube defects. get a really good prenatal....dont wait to see the doc to get it. i hope that all goes wonderfully with the pregnancy....and dont worry about gaining the weight, just a good excuse to breast feed....which burns hundreds of calories just making the milk. just think of how much exercise it would take to burn those calories that you will get to burn just sitting down and relaxing while feeding the little bundle of joy. good luck to you and the little peanut.
