  1. i am at three months now and i have had a few stalls already. i still cant fathom that i will ever be skinny. i am not in a stall now, but the weight is coming off very slowly. i actually lost faster before surgery then after. the only thing that i can think of that is the reason is that we now have less fat to lose so therefore it is going to come off slower. i was surprized that i have lost 4 pounds so far this month and i havent been really good with carbs. i make sure to take pictures regularly to compair them. when i am looking at the picts it helps to see it better. good luck
  2. i had my seminar on may 22nd 2011.....dont know about all the other dates....had my surgery august 15th. my insurance paid 100%. i was very lucky
  3. yep....very weird. i have always liked my legs because they are muscular, i have lost a lot off of my legs and now they are really skinny. my belly is still big, and so i look strange. really skinny on bottom and really big on top. on the possitive note though, i lost the extra w in my butt. you know which one, you normally have a W shape butt, however in us chubbys we have an extra little w in the middle. lol i have lost that little w and am left with just one big W......i love that!
  4. i do it too. i do it with the stuff i wanna taste but dont want the calories or carbs from. i just wouldnt recomend doing it at a resturant
  5. dont worry it'l happen soon
  6. i got another one! i was volunteering at my youngest daughters school. i was walking around monitoring the kido's. i overheard one of the girls that my daughter has play dates with at our house...so she knows me well. she said, "is that your mom?" my daughter said, "yeah you know she is." her friend says, "she looks DIFFERENT!" and my daughter said, "yeah she lost a lot of weight." i was grinning from head to toe! :Banane55:
  7. i love how you say only lost 30 pounds! that is a great weight loss. you are doing good. i went back and checked out my weight loss totals for after surgery and i realized something.....when i ate more of the "regular" food i lost more weight. while i was just eating and drinking protein i only lost 4 pounds for that month. so i guess i shouldnt freak out about it that much. i had my weight messured to see how much fat i have lost vs muscle. since my journey began i have only lost 6.5 pounds of muscle vs. 80.5 pounds of fat.....i'l take that. i would like to lose no muscle but i hear it is impossible not to lose muscle while you are losing fat. oh well
  8. ok great! starting weight 224.....current weight 224....goal weight 215 here i go!!!!! woo hoo!
  9. i was a huge water drinker prior to surgery and then after i hated to drink it because it hurt my tummy. i thankfully love it again now. it doesnt hurt going down anymore. hang in there. you will get that restriction and that full feeling down in no time. so wonderful that you both have someone to lean on in this very important time. good luck to you both!
  10. i know, this 2 shakes a day is to kick start my ketosis. i need to get back in it since i know i have had to many carbs lately.
  11. I am almost 3 months out and I am having to smack my hands. I havent been following the rules very well lately. I have been eating the normal stuff. Not really eating bad things like chips or doughnuts, but i have been eating some breads and noodles and such. I need to get back to the proteins. I have still been losing but not as fast as I want to, so I am re-dedicating myself to eating protein first. I have been drinking my shake for breakfast and lunch, and eating protein for dinner. It is so much easier to do it now of course since having such a tiny tummy, but I need to stay on track! Bad habits die hard, but I am trying to kill them this time! Is there anyone else out there that needs to re-pledge themselves to this new way of life?
  12. i didnt have to prove anything for my insurance. i got my insurance in january of this year...went to the doctor in april for my weight. he asked me how long i have been overweight and i said 15 years, he said...thats good enough for me. that was all it took....but this show might make it harder for others to get that approval, which totally sucks.
  13. i just cant drink with meals. it makes my food come right back up with those lovely burpys. then its all slimy. totally gross. all the liquids help flush out the fat as well. you can count all liquids except those we arent allowed to drink anyways you know which ones
  14. wow you dont even look like the same person anymore! congrats
  15. this is what helped me. get a medicine cup from your pharmacy. have a water bottle with you at all times. fill your medicine cup with the water and sip on that for 30 minutes....repeat every 30 minutes. if you do this all day you will get in 64 oz of water. after i got used to this i then started freezing my water bottle. as the water thawed i would sip on that so that i didnt drink to much. good luck!
  16. almost 3 months out now, and feeling way better. its a case of buyers remorse and alot of us go through it. you will get better and you will have to take less meds as time goes on. try mixing your meds in thin applesause so to disguise the taste...and spread it out through the day. try to keep in a good space although i know it is hard
  17. beautiful....happy birthday tatum!
  18. i have had a few...tonight though i was out with my kids trick or treating and i ran into an old co-worker of mine. it was dark out so she couldnt see me to well, but she gave me a hug, and while she was hugging me i could feel her hands feeling around for the rest of me...haha she stepped back while still holding my waist and said, oh my god, where is the rest of you! i laughed and told her that i have lost 80 pounds and she was flabbergasted! to fun my other nsv happened a while ago that i already posted once, that was when i put on a bath towel and for the first time it fit all the way around me and tied in the front. that was sooooo cool!
  19. That stuff is so addictive! my hubby is soooooo addicted to mountain dew, but not the diet either. He drinks a 24 pack of them in 3 days, not exagerating either. No one has ever seen him anywhere without one in his hand, or pocket. He just happens to be one of those lucky people that has a high metabolism and doesnt gain a pound from anything. seriously, he is 6'2" and weighs 179 pounds. it is sooooo not fair. I keep telling him one day his age is going to change his luck and then he is going to be huge! good for you kicking that nasty habit, i swear if my hubby could have an iv hooked up to it he would. his blood has to be yellow green by now...hehe
  20. I didnt quite make it...bummer! I got to 224, I am making a new goal of 215 by Thanksgiving. That gives me 3 weeks to lose 9 pounds, i think that is realistic enough. I need to make sure to stay out of the kids Trick or Treat candy! It will be a whole lot easier this year then the last since i have a tiny tummy that makes me regret eating junk now. Love my sleeve!
  21. yeah, same here..showered when i got home. you arent allowed to take a bath until your steri strips come off. the main advise is to walk walk walk. it makes you feel better. takes the pressure off that tummy. good luck tomarrow!
  22. would do it all again in a second! no regrets whatsoever!! good luck!
