  1. i have definatly lost my taste for junk. i feel so unsatisfied if i eat anything that doesnt have what i need in it. i feel sick if i try to eat sugars. i went through the whole binge period thinking i needed to get it out of my system. i had a food funeral and it was a sad moment as well as a happy one. the sooner you start on your diet though the faster the weight will come off. i lost almost 50 pounds pre-op and now i am down 80 pounds since starting my journey. i am so thankful that i started sooner rather then later. good luck to you
  2. my stall lasted till my next period was over. then i lost 8.5 pounds in less then a week. it'l come off dont worry.
  3. i had my surgery on 8-16-11 and the dos i was 261pounds today i am 230...so since suregery i have lost 31 pounds....i did have the dredded stall at three weeks for about 2.5 weeks. i didnt lose anything of course during that time. once my tom came i lost 8.5 pounds in one week, which put me at the 31 pound loss. so just about 2 months and 31 pounds....not bad and average of 15 pounds a month. i will freaking take it! lol as for sabotoge.....i guess it is possible if all you do is eat crap, but i have lost the desire to eat that crap all together. i have tried, oh believe me i have, however eversion therapy has worked for me, (i have usually thrown it back up or it has come out the other side with a vengence) not something that you want to repeat very many times. in all though it really is just up to your body type, what you eat, how often, and what types of exercise you do,and of course genetics and age. everyone will be different. as for ww, i used to have a teacher that did ww....she would make fun of her old fat self and call her pictures, terry the whale. after she gained all of that weight back and then a few the picture came down again needless to say. diets just dont work unless you are locked away in a cell and cant get to real food. (that is called the prison diet btw) i work in one hehe...i always tease the guys when they come back from an extended stay at the jail house because they always lose so much weight cause the food sucks...lol
  4. i didnt have a pre warning. it just puts everything in perspective of how much we really are eating compared to how much we really need. i have a hard time watching anybody eat now. it is weird. i just make sure to focus on the conversation and company instead of the food anymore.
  5. i ate there with my girlfriend. i ordered the margarita chicken. only had about 4 bites and that was all for me. i took the rest home and had enough for 3 more meals. i am so a cheap date. my girlfriend was with me and she is pre op----still gotta do all the hurdles, anyhow...she ordered the double cheeseburger they have and it almost made me sick how big it was. she ate the whole thing and i wanted to hurl. it was very hard to watch. i felt a little guilty only eating what i did. she probably felt the same as me only opposite if that makes any since?
  6. approved!!! woo hoo for you!!!
  7. that is so cool isnt it? i mean i really cant stress enough how when you are in the moment of losing it is hard to see it for yourself. so when things like this happen it is a eye opener that yeah, i just lost a nine year old child (that is how much i think they weigh) lol i keep telling the people that i meet with here; you need to make sure to take pictures along the way so you can see it. if you dont then it will be a lot harder in your journey to recognize how much you have lost. my girlfriend is a few steps behind me in the process so she hasnt been sleeved yet, and she keeps saying NO PICTURES! i keep telling her that she will regret it if she doesnt. i think we should celibrate all the small things and reward yourself along the way with non food items. like for me, when i reach my short term goal of 220 i am going to go to the hair salon and get a new hair style. cant wait!
  8. so...i did not have the band, just to start. however i went to the doctor originally for the band. i thought that it was the one for me because it could be removed if there were issues. im glad that when i attended the seminar i heard about the sleeve. i changed my mind instantly. i did my homework but from the begining i knew that i didnt want to go through the lap band because of all the maintenance as well as not being perminant. why go through all of this for a temporary solution? i want this to be lifelong! i got the sleeve 2 months ago now, and thank the lord to all of the people that write about the sleeve on here because i am soooooo happy i got my sleeve now. its not all peaches and cream.....you have to do a lot of soul searching, and changing. however by far the best choice i have ever made.
  9. your welcome. everything will be fine. keep us posted as soon as youre up for it
  10. i felt the same as you, there is no way that it will work for me because i cant ever be thin again. every diet under the sun hasnt worked why would this one. well i was wrong. i have no problem only eating small protions because my sleeve wont let me eat more. i have tried to eat just a little more because my head wants it..not my sleeve. my sleeve wins everytime. it will even punish me if i dont listen by sending me running to the bathroom. i am so happy that i have this tool to help me....and i am already half way there. my surgery date was aug 15, 2011. good luck to you for your surgery tomarrow!
  11. haha! if anything the surgery has helped my thereapy. i have been in for years and felt like i was getting nowhere. since this surgery i feel so happy and i wouldnt change it for anything. as for hanging out with people.....i have been going places and doing stuff with friends now more than ever. for goodness sake i went to a male strip show last sunday.....something that i would have never felt comfortable going to before i had lost this weight. they are just worried that they willl not be your top priority anymore.
  12. yes that feels great....and he showed it later on too if you know what i mean!!! hehe
  13. i quit 2 days before surgery. they didnt test me i guess? anyhow i know that it hurt my breathing after surgery. i felt like i couldnt get a good breath in. they had to give me inhailers and breathing treatments. definatly a good idea to quit!
  14. thank you again for all the lovely compliments. i feel so great that i even went out for ladies night to see an all male review (man strippers ladies ) wow, what a great time i had. those guys really know how to grab those singles. thats ok though.....i did a little grabbing of my own lol!
  15. im feeling lighter and sexier i am half way there now and i cant believe it. my hubby cant keep his hands off of me hehe! love it!!!!!
  16. so ladies i took a shower today. when i got out of the shower i grabbed one of the towels off the rack....put it on around my body. i did one of those tuck in jobs at the top to close. i was standing there talking to my husband. i didnt even notice. he looked at me and said, "wow baby, look at you! you look so sexy rapped in that towel." i was like yeah sure, but looked in the mirror and realized that for the first time in 17 years the small towel rapped all the way around me! haha i cant freaking believe it!!! before my sleeve i had to have a beach towel in order to wrap around my body. thank you sleeve!!!!
  17. im only 2 months out now but including the pre op diet i have lost 54 pounds.
  18. i went with my hubby to an all you can eat buffet and couldnt bare to pay the ful price for a buffet when i know darn well im not eating enough. so i went to the front and asked for the take out buffet. i filled my box with what i thought i could eat and took it to be weighed. they started to object to my staying there to eat it with my hubby. i then explained the small stomach and then they were okay with it. my lunch cost $2.15! lol and i still ended up taking some home and it was my dinner. people are definately right on here about saving money on the food bill. i had my surgery 6 weeks ago now and my food bills for a family of 5 were anywhere between 500-1000 a month. since the surgery i have been shopping only 2 times and have only spent 400 total. i didnt realize how much of the food i used to eat. i used to always blame my high food bill on my hubby and kids eating to much. i guess i was wrong and it was a whole lot more of me eating than anything else.
  19. slow and steady wins the race! lol you will get there at your own pace. you arent racing anybody else. everybody is different. dont worry it will happen! good luck to you.
  20. thank you all! i have lost more since these pictures. that stall has gone for now! yeah! in those picts i was about 245....i am down to 235 now so totally happy about that. the stall was sucky......but i finally stepped on the scale and i had lost 8.5 pounds in one week! i wanted to cry outta joy!
  21. i went for a consult for my chin and lip. unfortunatly i was not a candidate because my hair pigment was to light. she told me that because the whiskers i have are blonde that the laser couldnt see them. just shaving and plucking for me. i dont have pcos...or at least i havent been diagnosed with it. i havent noticed any difference with my facial hair, or any other hair that i dont like growing. i have noticed that the hair on my head has started to fall out a bit....not to much more than usual though. thankfully i am blessed with...as my hair dresser puts it "three head fulls of hair." so i wont miss any that falls out on my head...just a pain in the ass when it is all over your clothes.
  22. i just picked a number that i would be happy with. when i was younger i was 120 pounds and i was super thin. im 5'8" and sometimes i measure taller then that. (not sure why) anyhow, 150 pounds seems just about when i looked the best when i was younger. i looked healthy and fit. i just want to look like that again.
