October Bandsters!!!
Everyone has lost so much more than I have! I am very excited for you all!! I did best after my second fill, but now I have gained a couple back. I have an appointment for my third fill on the 11th. I hope that finally gets me where I need to be. I thought I was there after my second fill, because I was never very hungry. But after about 4 weeks, it got a little slacker and I am eating more (AGAIN) I can gain weight so easy! Come on Jan 11th I am ready for ya!!

I'm Getting So Much Negative Feedback
My husband was frightened for me to undergo surgery, but he went with me to the seminar and that set his mind at ease a little bit. He stayed by my side through the whole thing and has a much better understanding of the whole procedure. In the long run he is happy that I did it! Good luck in your band journey!! Hey maybe you should let them read these forums!!

Enough Is Enough ......
When I get stuck, I hiccup a lot and have a lot pain in my chest and tons of flem!! UGH, I have done it a lot of times. I hate to admit that, but I eat way too fast and dont pay enough attention. When it happens, I usually have to spit a lot, twice I have thrown up food. I am getting a grip on it and try to avoid it but it happens. I am going to get another fill and that usually opens up a whole new can of stuck! I have to learn to slow down too!! I have learned to cut meat up very tiny bites. That helps a bunch!! I just have to practice eating them one at a time lol.

Band Vs Sleeve
To be truthful about why I chose the band, is because I am self pay and it was the one I could afford (barely). They are all tools to help with this weight loss journey. Good luck!!

Feel Like Such A Lap Band Failure!
my doctor says it happens when you have had the band a long time. You need to take out the fluid and wait about a month then start your fills over again. I hope you can get back on track!!

Food Everywhere
This Christmas there was food everywhere. I did not do good. As usual food won and I gained. It was just a couple pounds and I will have to work them off. It would be so much easier if I could just refuse the treats!! I gave away all the gifts of food made for me. My son says Mom I made you a pie and all these cookies before I remembered you cant eat all of it. I had a slice of your pie son and it was great lol. It is just so hard to avoid the whole season of food. I was in a good place with my band at Thanksgiving, and lost 11 pounds, but alas, I need another fill which I will get the 11th of January. We all have our ups and downs, so everyone just hang in there and dust off the sugar and get back on the wagon!! Good luck and I hope you all did better than I did!!

How Many Days Of Work Did You Miss after Lap band Surgery?
I say if you have sick time take your whole two weeks, I did, I had a hernia repaired, and truthfully I was not ready to go back before two weeks. I am blessed to have a good job, and sick time, so I was able to concentrate on healing.

Weird Feeling In Chest
I was banded the 14th of October, and I know that feeling well!! But now that I have had two fills, before I get that far I get a hickup and a runny nose, then I know I better stop or I am going to be sick.

No-no Foods...what Are Yours?
I have gotten stuck on meat, beef and pork, but it was probably because the tiny bite was not tiny enough, or I ate too fast or did not chew enough. I have had a hard time with bread and flour tortillas. But no problem with corn tortillas and I like them better anyway. I got stuck on one bite of coleslaw, lettuce has given me problems too. I can eat a little bit, but not much.

I had the same problem, and it was caused by my pain meds, but once I was off them, nature took over.

Eleven Pounds In 3 Weeks
That's more like it. My second fill helped a lot. It is really making me follow the rules. No fill today. Doc says it is good how it is. This fill has really made me feel restriction and I am finally understanding full sometimes too much.

introduction
Well it has been a couple months now, I am down 22 pounds, not a big loss, but still a loss right? I am learning to use this band and I feel great. Thank you all for your posts. It helped me feel much less alone! DH is always there and has been a great source of comfort. He loves to hug me and tell me how different I feel lol. I am so happy I had the surgery, that feeling came when the pain left lol!!

Post Lap Band Surgery Op Pain
I think that is normal, because I felt that way too. Give yourself a couple of weeks to return to your normal happy self. It just gets better!!

Who Are You Telling About Your Lap Band Surgery?
I am so proud of my band that I tell anyone and everyone. That makes it easier, no one tries to push food off on you. At work we had a Christmas dinner, and they were especially attentive not to give me more than I wanted. Folks are more understanding than even I thought they would be, especially those who know how hard I tried to diet and suffer from failure every time. A lot of people are curious, but if they think I am taking an easy way out, I go out to lunch with them and they see what I eat as apposed to what they eat and realize it is still hard, I just have help, and it is working!! YAY
