Happy New Year To Everyone !
Happy New year, and yes on the resolutions 1. Make your bad habits, fewer and farther between. 2. You must exercise. There is no choice. (this one takes work) sigh! That is as good as I can do this year!

"we Don't Do Hand Holding"
There is nothing at all wrong with needing support. As has been stated this is a big deal!! Bless your heart, sometimes the dr's office people lose sight of what they are there for. Which is to take care of you! I completely switched drs office because I felt they were rude and hateful to everyone. I live in a small town and it is convenient to see a local dr, but I gave that up and went to a bigger town because I was sick and tired of the rudeness, not always aimed at me, but at the elderly and most patients. Now this was not my surgeons office just a local Dr. who thinks his patients are nothing but dollars rushed through his office. I now have a doctor that is not only nice and caring, he takes time to joke with the patient and makes you feel he really cares. I hope that you find the right Doc and don't let the wrong ones wear on you! Good luck!!

Help With Clear Liquids?
When I was on clear liquids, I had beef broth, chicken broth, sugar free popsicles, veggie broth, water and lots of it, and Mio (water additive YUM!) tea and coffee (decaf) sugar free jello. That is all I can think of right now. Each time I have a fill I have to do liquids, but not clear I add tomato soup and juice then.

Frustrated With Slow Weight Loss
The process of getting your band where you need it to be is a slow process, I have lost 24 pounds since October. But I need another fill and I know that when I get to the "green" spot, the weight will come off faster. Relax and let the process happen, you will get there! Good luck!!

Breaking Up With Food!
Well I am two months in, I am still at 24 pounds. I am not at all upset with this, I know I need another fill but probably only a little one. What I have learned is that I have a few hurdles yet to conquer. I hate exercise I have to walk. I have a dog, and a treadmill (for rainy days) I have a bow flex. I do not have ambition. lol I am battling with myself over all of this and I know my health will win. It takes time to make a lazy girl move, but the scale sitting in the same spot for a month on 1000 cal per day makes me know, to win I must move my hiney. The biggest thing I have to accept is my break up with food!! I am learning that cooking the way I always have makes me have to have the same meals for lunch all week! lol I am learning that we can make due with just two menu items, because three means lots of left overs. I am lucky to eat a little meat and Veggies. Yes I did say I need a fill, and I do have good restriction, but I am still hungry, which leads me to another battle, head hunger, and real hunger. So far my tummy tells me if I am hungry in loud angry growls, but it doesn't stop my head from saying please please just one more bite! So that is where I am at today. I am fine and feel like I am slowly but surely making progress in all areas, so here's to it! I hope you all have a great New Year! New years Resolutions, break bad habits, make new habits, and be kind to everyone!

How Long Before Returning To Work
If you have sick time, I would wait till Dr. appointment. It took me the two weeks just to feel good. I had a hernia repaired too so I was pretty sore. Good luck and I am happy for you!!

Hello From Texas
I too was self pay, and had my surgery within a week of my first consultation! I did have a higher bmi 39 and diabetes. But when you are self pay most times you do not have to have any of the things that insurance requires (psyc eval, nutritionist, and other stuff) I did have to have an EGD and EKG and then I was in getting banded! Good luck.

Hi Simone, I too was banded in October, but have not had any complications, I too am an emotional eater and get stuck regularly from the same thing, I eat too quickly and if distracted I will get myself stuck! I am learning. It would be great to keep in touch and compare notes!! Good luck!!

So I Guess I Failed Already ......
sometimes it takes more than one fill too, don't get your hopes up too high for the first fill. For some that is all it takes but for others (yours truely) it takes more. I am getting my third on 1/11.

So I Guess I Failed Already ......
sugar free popsicles are really good and help with the need to munch and are considered liquid.

So I Guess I Failed Already ......
This process takes time, I am right there with you and I was banded in October! I have had two fills and the second one really worked but only for about 3 weeks. As you heal, your band loosens up, They fill you a little bit at a time. You will get there, and dont beat yourself up lots of people gain during bandster hELL!! it is discouraging, I am fighting against two pounds for the last two weeks, it goes up then back down. Driving me nuts but I know my next fill is gonna be the one, (I think) Because I had so much restriction on my second fill that the weight fell off. But now not so much. Just be patient and give yourself time to heal and get through the fill process before you deem yourself a failure!!

Over Slept Yay
Well a little more rushed today, we over slept, that never even happens on the weekends! I love it, I am not at risk for being late to work or anything, just a little less time to relax with the coffee. The thing is we are usually up between 5 and 6 and today it was nearly 7 before we rolled outta the bed. Sometimes that is just really nice!! We could do it more often but usually one of us wakes up early and the other follows suit. So I betcha anything today will be a great day. The scale is just one pound above what it was before the Christmas blow out! YAY Today I will get it back to 230 and maybe by the new year I will be below 230 YIPPEE!! For me it is slow going (banded 14 oct. and down 24) But it is happening! I have gotten this far before on a diet, but I could never stick to it. Then I would gain it all back and then some!! I do not want that to ever happen again. So I will slowly plug away at losing and keeping it off!! Slow is ok by me!!
