What Are You Going To Do To Change Your Life In 2012
I did exactly a lot of what you stated! I researched, contemplated, researched more, asked a million questions, and are asking even more these days, that was just to pick the right surgeon...lol!! (Thanks to so many of you on here!) I am praying, preparing and mostly believing that I can do this and I deserve to put myself first and attain this life time goal. I also decided NOT to make a resolution for the year but make a commitment to become healthy for the rest of my life. I AM GOING TO MEXICO ON FEB 4TH!!!!! :smile1: Thank you sweet lady for all the encouragement!!!! :smile1:

How Many Experience This From Their Husbands..
I am glad that you are not this helpless little bird that has no wings. I believe you are more equipped than most of us might of realized. I also believe that God has equipped you to be very rezilliant in time of uncertain changes. It is your decision, only you know your husband and your situation. I know you have Christian values, as I do. I totally respect and admire your commitment. You also sound prepared incase of the worst scenerio, just a little word of advice, from past experience, (before my dear husband)... Remember, when you become evidently stronger, he will become more insecure. This site can be a life line for you in many ways. Emotionally for the sleeve and also for you own self worth and esteem. I would be hestitant to share where all your new found insight is coming from. You will need this forum way more after being sleeved just to cope with health questions, issues and encouragement when Sleevy is not agreeing with you. Always come back on here and post please! I will be praying for you personally Sunshine!!! Big hug to you lady!!!

What Is Your Favorite Meal After Being Gastric Sleeved?
Can not wait to see what my sleeve likes or doesn't!

Sipping And Not Drinking With Meals
How hard was it to get to get used to sip, sip, sip rather than gulp, gulp, gulp after surgery? Also how much of a struggle was it to get used to not drinking before and after meals? I have not quite 3 weeks and as I plan to practice still finding myself not doing it regularly.

From: A New Pressing Issue..
Thank you so very much. Your post definetly gave me a jilt in the right direction. Your right. I do not exude self confidence, I also do not like the attention either way positve or negitve. Would I like support yes. I do not need approval though. Thanks again

Were Your Eyes Wide Open?
Is there anyone out there that blindly went into this surgery, not really knowing quite what they were getting theirselves into? I think I am very imformed but I do not know if I realize what actually is the "forevers" with this surgery. After a year of so you life sounds quite normal and functional , from the long time sleevers I have heard from. As long as you work the sleeve and do not abuse yourself , like returning to old behaviors of overeating and unhealthy food choices. The hardest thing for me is the social aspect, food sure does center around a lot of my relationships. Change is good though. Most of these situations are unhealthy to say the least. Am I being niave?

From: A New Pressing Issue..
About 6 mo. ago when I was conteplating being sleeved. I opened my big mouth to a co worker, who had become a friend, about wanting to go to MX for WLS. Besides her, I work with a lot of women who stand around and gossip about each other. Very hateful and mean spirited. Well, the friend I did confide in, is also a biggggg girl. I thought she would react quite nicely. To my surprise it was the exact oppisite. She said "What are you crazy? You do not need that, that is the easy way out, they will end up screwing you all up", it doesn't work anyway, on and on. BIG MISTAKE!!! At that very moment I decided not to share it with anyone else. I really thought she would be more supportive. I tried to explain that it was not a by pass but she did not want to hear it. It was strange I got the feeling like.... she was either jealous or felt inferior or intimidated. She actually treated me differently for a few days, going on and on about it, (quietly I in my ear), until I told her there was know way I could do it anyway for I did not have the $'s. Work became so uncomfortable during that time. She would ignore me unless she would say something pertaining to that subject. She showed a total different side of herself to me. I forgot to mention, she is not my boss but she is in a leadership position, like management but with out the power to hire and fire. She can make my job easy or very difficult. Other than this issue, I look up to her, think she is a wonderful gal. She is the go to person and is highly regarded in her position. I respect her tremendously. I truly want no hard feelings. I would hate for our relationship to change. Now I have a sleeve date, Feb. 4th. I have not told my boss yet either, due of this issue. I have not dealt with even scheduling the time off. She will outright ask him and as soon as he says I can not discuss this with you then she will know. How would you handle the friend/ coworker lady and telling the boss? I must say I do trust her not to run her mouth. Yet I do not want her attitude, concerning it. I had a taste of it. My job is very physical. I plan on taking 6 weeks off. I do not see that as a problem. I truly did not expect to have the money available so soon to go, so this kind of came about quicker than expected. I dread going back to work, smaller and having to lie or be treated differently. Source: A New Pressing Issue..

Exericise Or No Exercise
Wow... you have been through a lot. It is weird though. You had to stop exercising b/c of your illness but need to start back up to feel better. Bless your heart. Like a catch 22. I hope I enjoy exercise more after being sleeved and losing some of this weight.. Thank you for your post, informative. It really made me think. This sleeve really does give us new oppurtunities, not just weight loss.

I will be sleeved on Feb 4th. (that feels so good to write, lol) I was wondering... My son is going to be married on June 2nd. I am 100 lbs. overweight. I know know one can tell me how much I will lose but I really wanted to pick out a dress way before hand. I wonder will I lose like 20 or 30 ish lbs, a size or two maybe? I dread looking for a dress for the way I look right now but do not want to wait till the last minute. In all honesty, I know the dresses I would wear now are a much different style than even they were 50lbs ago. I got the moo moo dress going on now. lol What to do....- Another Hair Loss Question...weird?

Bummer..... I really was lookiing forward to hearing a response to my question, concerning guilt over the cost of being sleeved. I will have to concentrate and rewrite. The topic was $60 a lb. lol- Something "crunchy" To Snack On...
I am not sleeved yet but have a concern for after I heal from surgery. I really like snacks that are crunchy. I thought celery until I heard how harmful it can be to some of us. I obviously prefer something low calorie, low carb. Any suggestions? thanks. - Mother Of The Groom Dress
