  1. My heart and prayers go out to you!
  2. Hi, Welcome! Keep logging in and read, read, read. You will learn a lot. Congrats on your decision. PRAYERS and wishes going your way on a successful journey!
  3. I am sure you are losing. 25 lbs so far is awesome!!!!!!
  4. Your doing great, you made it to day 4. I struggled the first few days really bad then suddenly something shifted and it was down hill from there. Hang in there and just keep telling yourself... this to will pass. Another thing keep full on liquids, the more water and others liquids the more you feel fuller.
  5. I just got back from MX . I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly on Feb 4th. I have had no complications and am doing wonderful. I am up and about and feeling great. He was amazing. He was available and visited when I was at the hospital and then visited me at my hotel. He is a very caring and dedicated surgeon. The reason I chose him in the first place is that I noticed that is seemed to me from this board that his patients seem to recover very nicely, also he has a lot of experience. I do believe he is going through some changes and everyone is not going to like everybody all the time but I have to say, I felt geniune concern from him and he made sure I was comfortable. I also had a sleeve sister and he treated her with the same care. On an added note, without going into detail, the night before I left he went out of his way to make sure that I was leaving MX prepared. He did not have to do that. I am forever indebted! I recommend him highly. P.S. I refer to my sleeve as my kelly belly... I know i sound like an advertisement all the sudden but I am not . I am a real person with a great , real experience.
  6. Praying your swelling goes down and you have a speedy recovery! God Bless you.
  7. I second what NEW HOPE wrote. Look at the bright side quick might mean more skin later. Slow and moderate most likely will make all the difference later in how you look. I think it is a blessing in disguise. It is hard to feel that now but if you know you are doing the right things by eating and working out, it really is to your advantage. Take pics monthly, I plan on looking back at all the NSV others have shared when getting discouraged. Soon you will be seeing those of your own. I am right behind you, seeing how my journey plays out. Good for you girl working out so hard and eating right, it just a matter of time !!!!
  8. Okay, here it goes... I was sleeved on Feb 4th. I feel wonderful, I do not feel constipated or anything like that. I have been on liquids for 2 weeks easy. The last bowel movement I had was on Feb 2nd, eight days ago. Should I be concerned at all? Would I even be having any kind of BM without eating any solid foods. I suddenly feel ignorant. lol If it is a concern, any ideas? Thanks :blush2:
  9. Your on final count down....... I will be praying for you. I know you had to wait. I did also. A entire new ball game begins. I am so happy for you!!!!!!
  10. Thank you sweet lady! I am doing wonderful. I can not beleive how great I feel. I have hope now. I feel like I just did a 1000 sit ups and I struggle with having enough fluids but I am not hungry at all. I am down 5lbs. since my surgery on Sat. the 4th. total of 17 1/2 since pre op. I am tickled!!!
  11. I was sleeved on Feb 4th. I recall counting down the days, they will be a mere memory soon. I still can not believe it. I feel great . I said to someone earlier the best thing is that when my sergeon took my stomach he replaced within me HOPE. I lost that a long time ago. I am truly happy for you. May you recover quickly and with ease. Sending prayers your way.
  12. Rant away .... that would be frustrating!
  13. I was the only one that did not realize that I had to lose A LOT of weight. Setting up my ticker was a wake call. Don't get me wrong, I knew but didn't let it sink in. I have a fear of people, asking me questions about how much I have lost but I thought it was because I do not like the attention on me. Being sleeved recently I haven't experienced those things. Thank you for posting this for it gives me insight and also prepares me how to deal with it.
  14. Hugs back to you. Thank you for all your great advice pre surgery. Can't wait to get on with the show.........lol
  15. Turn that around, if you are single, which I was many years after a divorce, a freind shared with me what she would do. She planned that day to go all out and pamper herself. Nails, toes, facial, nice outfit, anything that you usually might not do all at once. I started doing that say the last 5 years before I remarried and I must say it helped me alot. Not only to pamper myself but you can have 1 of 2 attitudes, you can sit around and say this sucks b/c I am not sharing it with someone or 2 you can show yourself some much needed love and selfworth. It does not have to be the things I said but things that are meaningful for you. You deserve it and are worth it. Go out on a limb.... I did all those things, got dolled up and went out and would find something fun to do. There are a lot of singles feeling the same way you are. P.S. for the record, you do not need someone, to complete you, it might be fun, but until then love yourself!!!! YOU ARE SO WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Hi Everyone, I made it home from Mexico. I feel fantastic. Gas is a little heavy, I am slow at getting in some fluids but overall life is good. Our flight was layed over in Houston so we did not get home and in bed until 3am but all is well. I will write more later this afternoon, time for a nap...lol. I am so happy and most of all very thankful for all the prayers!!!!! One thing, the entire experience was much better than I would of ever expected, it was awesome.
  17. MAKE ROOM... HEADING TO THE AIRPORT FOR MEXICO. I CAN USE ALL THE PRAYERS!!!!! SEE YOU ON THE LOSER'S BENCH.........WHOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  18. maybe go late to the restaurant and hang out, say the last half hour after everyone has eaten then go to the bar and order a tall glass water with a splash of cranberry juice, you will fit right in for an hour. Maybe not every Mon. but it will show that you do care, unless it truly is uncomfortable. If it is then don't compromise your progress. I think it is nice how considerate you are concerning "where they want to go". If someone asks why you are not staying or why you came late, tell them the truth..... you enjoy thier company yet it's difficult at this time. Real friends will try to understand.
  19. Thank you for that , I needed that right now. It spoke to me. God's good.
  20. May your surgery be fast and you heal quickly..Godspeed!!!! Right behind you on Sat. morning.
  21. I am glad you had that realization. The worst thing about that, if you eat it when you been on low carbs for sometime, all those cravings come back worse. Been there done that. I also learned like you. It is kinda like kicking cigarettes. If you have quit then have one it tastes nasty but then the next day , you keep thinking about it for the nicotine is in your system. Don't be fooled by that.
  22. My friend sits next to me at a Bible study. Over the last 6 weeks she has been recovering from a knee surgery. She often wears skirts. I was amazed every week on how her scar has healed. I just asked her last week what she puts on it . She told me she took an Aloe plant and cut out the inside of a "leaf" , at nite she put some directly on the scar and covers it with a bandage. It was truly amazing . I could not believe it! That is what I am going to use.
  23. You are working your sleeve. That is amazing!!!! What a story. What a trooper you are lady. You can do this. Thank you so much for posting this. I will be sleeved in a few days and one thing that I have learned is this surgery IS NOT a fix all. You have to work it. You can not try to fool yourself or the sleeve . Keep up the great work.
  24. Be proud!!!! That is so awesome and so imspiring. I am sooooo happy for you. That is a goal of mine.
