First Date Went Well!!
No. I do not believe that is something that should be shared on the first date. And at this point, I'm glad I didn't. He hasn't asked me out again and I've already moved on to someone new. LOL. I've decided to only reveal that information if it develops into a relationship. I don't there is anything wrong with that because honestly, it will not impact them at all. I may eat less, but it's not like I don't eat at all. And I've been with a guy the past 2 out of 3 times I've gotten stuck and just dismissed myself to go to the bathroom and did what I had to do. Not a big deal.

40 Pounds Gone In 2 Months!!
A typical day for me would be as follows: Breakfast: SF Carnation Instant Breakfast (150 Cal) Lunch: It depends. Sometimes I'll have leftovers from the night before or I'll have a lean pocket. Whatever I have, it's under 300 calories. Dinner: I go out a lot and usually try to stick to chicken items. I usually only eat half and will have the leftovers for lunch the next day. I search the menu for the healthiest, protein heavy food I can find. I stay away from pasta at all costs and I only drink zero calorie drinks or my V8 Light which only has 50 calories per serving. If I have bread, it's whole wheat but I try to limit that as well. If I have a snack, it's 100 calories or less but I try not to snack in between meals. I NEVER eat a whole meal when I'm out. Oh and another thing I eat a lot is eggs. I love eggs and for the most part, they sit well with me. I use myfitnesspal all the time too. It helps keep me accountable for everything I eat. I just suggest watching your serving and portion sizes, and stay away from sweets and count your calories. That's been the key for me. I have cut out all sweets and to be honest, I don't even crave them anymore. Good luck! If you need anything, let me know! Feel free to message me!

40 Pounds Gone In 2 Months!!
I was banded on November 21st. I started my pre op diet on November 11th and lost 14 pounds before surgery. I've been losing pretty consistently since. I've had one fill because I wasn't feeling restriction. The reason I've been losing pretty consistently is that I've been watching what I eat, counting calories etc. Every person is different though. I would like to say that I am in the green zone because I have felt restriction, although not all the time. It's hard to tell. Good luck on your journey! You will get there!

40 Pounds Gone In 2 Months!!
I am proud to report that as of today, I am now 40 pounds down since November 11th!! I couldn't be happier! I have had another stuck episode since my last post. It was with grilled chicken!! I'm so confused :/ That was on Saturday and I've been good so far. It's just completely random. It was around dinner time. I barely ate a quarter of my food and I ate slowly and chewed well. I guess if it happens again, I'll mention it to my doctor. It's just so hard for me to pin point what's causing the problem as I have yet to note a pattern. Life is going so well and I'm extremely happy. Feeling really blessed. I get comments from everyone, if not on the weight I've lost, than on how much more confident I seem. I am a huge advocate of the lapband now!!

For Those Of You Who Are A Slave To The Scale: Some Advice!
I keep my scale at work. I still weigh myself 5 days a week. I actually love it. I know each person is different, but seeing the day to day fluctuations keep me motivated and makes me work harder. Also, I love weighing myself after I've been off a couple of days because that's usually when I've lost the most. Everyone is different!

First Date After Lapband
No don't apologize. I'm the dumy who didn't even THINK about the possibility of hurting my band. It was 7 weeks out however, and I guess that's why I didn't think of it. I was sore the next day, but everything is fine. I'm still feeling the band and I'm still losing weight. Thanks for your concern though! I will definititely be more cautious and aware next time!

Stuck? And An Update!
Okay since Wednesday, I have had two throwing up episodes. The first time was salad. This morning it happened again. I apologize for the TMI but I really want to know if this is the norm. I had about half an omlette, chewed and ate slowly. I started to feel uncomfortable in my chest area and next thing I knew, I was running to the bathroom. The food came up like balls and lots of slime came out too. I'm assuming this is normal. I'm a bit confused because I did what I was supposed to and I really didn't eat that much at all. Obviously, I did something wrong but I'm not sure what. Even though this part of the band is gross, it makes me super excited to know that it's working!! Also, it felt so much better after I got it out. As an update, I was in a wedding last night. It was a lot of fun and I received lots of compliments. I hope to have pictures later. I was too busy to take any myself, but I'm sure others have some. I felt soo pretty and the dress was really flattering! This band has made me feel so much better about myself and I am grateful for that. Oh, and I also caught the bouquet for the first time ever!! And I danced my behind off (good exercise!). Anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

First Date Went Well!!
I'm pleased to report that the first date went well last night. Although, not sure if I could actually call it a date because he didn't pay. But that's okay. We played three games of bowling (which I severely kicked his butt in all 3!) and then we sat and talked for well over an hour. He hinted that he wanted to hang out again. He also texted me later to tell me what a nice time he had. I'm hoping it's a good sign! I felt very comfortable with him and we had tons to talk about. I haven't seen him in 14 years (since grade school) and he added me on facebook a couple of weeks ago. So, guess I'll see how this plays out! Either way, it was fun!

Every Fill Liquids After?
My doctor told me to progress the post op surgery diet day by day. For instance, the day I had my fill, clear liquids. Next day, full liquids, next day, pureed, next, soft foods. Depends on the doctor I suppose!
-
Unsure.
All I can say is that it was the best decision I've ever made in my entire life! I'm only 36 pounds down, and I already feel so different! You sound like the perfect candidate for this surgery. I feel like it's one of the best things we can do for ourselves. We shouldn't be ashamed of caring about our health, or wanting a better lifestyle. Good luck!

First Date After Lapband
So, tonight I have my first date after having lapband surgery. To be honest, I haven't had a date in a very long time. I'm excited and a little nervous. I purposely asked that we go bowling instead of out to eat or something because I didn't want the guy to think I'm weird. He can think that later if he wants lol but first impressions matter! I'm sure some of you can relate, but men don't normally pay attention to me. Not quite sure why. I don't think I'm disgusting to look at (even with the extra weight) and I'm not a psycho or a weirdo. I have decent self esteem (I have my issues but everyone does). But for some reason, I just haven't done well in the men department. So tonight is like starting a whole new venture for me. It may not lead to anything with this specific guy, but I still feel as if I'm taking a step in the right direction. I am down 36 pounds as of today. People are constantly remarking on how "skinny" I look. That's obviously not true, but it makes me happy. Anyways, I'm posting a couple more pics of me at 222 pounds! Don't forget to add me on myfitnesspal SN: legnarevocrednu

How Long Does It Take U To "feel" Your Fill
I had my first fill last week (4CC's) and I felt it immediately. I eat at least half of what I did between the surgery and my first fill. And that's saying a lot, because it was rare for me to even reach 1000 calories then. It's been a week, and the fill is still going strong! It's strange how it's different for everyone. I've already lost 4 pounds since then!

Do You Sometimes Get Discouraged Or Regret Getting The Lapband?
I was banded on November 21st, and although my situation isn't the same as yours, I have heard that people may not lose at first. It takes a while to get into the zone, so to speak. It really is work...I have yet to feel restriction and the only reason I'm losing weight, is because I'm making better choices. You need to really WANT to be healthy...and WANT to stop eating badly. The band will help but you still have to work at it. Good luck!

Feeling Frustrated And Sad, Need Some Advice!
I would definitely keep going back for fills. However, the band won't stop you from eating what you want. YOU have to stop YOU. I haven't even felt restriction yet, but I'm counting my calories and making healthy choices. You really have to be in the correct mind set to do this or the band won't work. Good luck!

First Fill!
I thought it was a lot too. But so far, so good!

First Week After First Fill (and Another Picture Lol)
Okay so this week has taken a lot of adjustment for me. Although I still haven't felt restriction, I definitely am feeling SOMETHING when I'm eating. A tightness in the chest area. I've posted about this on the board, so this may be a bit repetitive to those of you who have read that. Anyways, I've decided to let it go for now. It's not painful, it's just uncomfortable. If I still feel it at my next appointment, I'll let my doctor know. For now, it's bearable and I've lost 3 pounds since Tuesday so I'm good with that! lol. As far as hunger goes...very little. I felt my stomach growl for the first time since Tuesday at 11PM last night while I was laying in bed. It was not pleasant but I just ignored it and went to sleep. Yesterday I had a SF Carnation Instant Breakfast, my refried beans recipe for lunch (about 1/2 cup) and for dinner, about an ounce of halibut which I chopped up real good and it took me about an hour to eat lol. I would think that would have been enough but I guess not!! I also want to give kudos to myfitnesspal! I am in LOVE with that app and I truley believe it's part of the reason I've lost so much weight without restriction. It helps keep me accountable for everything I put in my mouth. Also, seeing my progress is encouraging. If any of you would like to add me on there, my sn is legnarevocrednu. The picture I'm attaching is a body shot of me in my bridesmaids dress (wedding is a week from today). Again, crappy quality, but I think the dress looks well on me! I'm 35 pounds down as of today and couldn't be happier!

I Can See The "end" In Sight...that Leads To A New Beginning...
I'm not sure what the original posters reason is for not telling everyone, but I have also made the decision not to tell certain people. However, MOST people do know. There are two key people that I have decided not to tell because they have expressed their negative opinions to me about other people who have had WLS. I just did not wish to have the negativity in my life. I went with my gut and told people who I knew would support me, and they have. I think it's a personal decision for all. Not all people are kind and/or supportive and I believe it's smarter to just not include them.

Tightness In Chest While Eating
I'm a bit concerned. I'm hoping someone can tell me this is normal. I just had my first fill on Tuesday of 4 CC's. I've been progressing through the post op diet daily and today, am on pureed. Every meal (no matter if it's liquid or pureed) causes tightness in my chest. I won't say it's excrutiating, and it's not making me feel nautious. It's just uncomfortable. And it happens from my first bite all the way to the last. Is this normal? If so...how long does it last? If it's not normal, guess I'll have to give the doc a call :/ Thanks!

Picture Update
This is me after losing 33 pounds My weight before starting my post op diet was 258 now I'm 225. Yay! Thank you!
-
Any Good Ones?
You may want to call your doctor. I haven't been nautious since surgery, but I know before when I was feeling sick to my stomach, I would take some pepto and it would help. There is tons of anti nausea medicine over the counter. I would stick to the liquid or chewables. Hope you feel better!
