Something I never thought I'd have to cope with...
Woah now, at least you have good subset of guys that like bigger women. Us fat guys are totally ignored. Looking over the family pics on this site (and others), I see bigger women with mostly non-obese husbands and boyfriends. The fat men are rare to find. :scared0: I've had women TURN AND RUN FROM ME in a club when I approached. So don't think the "thin preference" is one-sided. It ain't.

20 lbs in 2 Weeks!!!
- Half Way Point 105 Pounds Down
Grats dude, that's AMAZING!- Gaming Sleevers
I have 12 level 80's, all of which were heavily geared before I quit 8 months ago. It was the reason I gained a lot of weight, so I knew that I had to get it out of my life.- Down 70lbs post-op!
Awesome bro! I just subscribed, can't wait to see more videos.- 15 Weeks & Halfway to Goal
DAYUM! You're looking good.- back from Mexicali (sorry...long!)
Wow I can't believe that nobody came to check on you. Great story, thanks for sharing!- I know I know....it wasn't the healthiest...
Meh, I'm eating Whataburger chicken strips for lunch every day and losing 3 lbs a week, pre-surgery of course. Not healthy but I'm getting the job done of dropping a little weight before seeing my nutritionist.- Poll: To tell or not to tell co-workers
I was mobbed by the rest of my tarot class on Tuesday. "I don't think you should get surgery, why can't you just diet, my friend died from gastric bypass, blah blah blah". Defended myself for like 30 minutes, what a pain. I feel sorry for you guys who have gossipy work environments. I'm never telling anybody outside my family (and boss).- keeping your old stomach!
Maybe you can have it stuffed, and create a stomach puppet.- Question Re 3 Month Intensive Program with Aetna
Aetna won't cover my nutritionist, even though it's required for my sleeve surgery intense program. I'm appealing it. Very annoying, and I don't want to pay $500 total for all the visits.- Food addiction BOOKS you recommend?
I went to Amazon, and there's so many. I probably have all of the food addiction symptoms possible (head hunger, emotional hunger, overeating, etc). The LAST thing I want is to finish surgery and gain weight again because I didn't resolve the mental issues. Out of the 30+ books available, which do you recommend for: - Learning why this happens - Implementing a plan to fix I'm going to counseling as well for any underlying problems that might have led to it. thanks!- Psych Evals
I just got back from mine! He gave me a 370 question test, then asked me 10 multiple choice questions. The remainder of the time he told me all about surgery, eating after, the stages of food (clear liquid, liquid, mushy, etc). 90% of the "psych eval" was him giving me information. :confused1:- clear liquid diet on the road
I've seen broth in little paper containers. You could microwave one of those at a convenience store on the way. From other threads, I'm not sure pudding is allowed, but Jello is. Fruit juices too: How to Follow a Clear liquid diet - wikiHow- Eating Out Wisdom to Share with my Boyfriend
Is it just me, or did the topic sound dirty? My brain is terrible!- Oh great ... I have sleep apnea
The sleep study has to be rigged, I bet all the other fat guys who were with me got the same diagnosis (in order for them to spend the money to come back, and buy that machine, etc). This was probably what triggered that angry customer from Saturday night. They should just stab a knife into your arm, and record any irregularities while you sleep. "Just ignore the knife, sir!" Yeah right...- Oh great ... I have sleep apnea
So the sleep study people called me, and told me I have sleep apnea. NOOOOOOOOOO My surgeon recommends I go back to the sleep center and take another study with some face mask on. Are you serious? Look dude, I sleep 9 hours without waking up at all. I'm never tired during the day. Those people at the center probably recorded me coughing before I went to sleep as "trouble breathing". I snore BECAUSE I'M FAT. All that will go away immediately after I drop 100 lbs... So I call the surgeon's office who says the CPAP machine is OPTIONAL. I don't have to go back, and it won't affect my insurance. Yay! So why did I bother with that stupid sleep study in the first place? But my Aetna surgery requirements form says I need a new sleep study if I lose more than 15 lbs, which I probably will lose 40+ lbs before it's all over. THEY'RE EVIL! I'M NOT GOING BACK! :sad0:- You Tube Videos for Inspiration
I like Kella's, because she talks about the psychology behind her eating, and how she's overcoming it. And also, she eats kinda normal yet still loses weight (occasional cookie, interesting foods). I really liked her theory about fast food joints. Even if you're going there to buy healthy stuff, it's only a matter of time before you order something less healthy. YouTube - Kellawanda's Channel- how much food can you eat after 6-9-12 months?
I'm curious, does your stomach actually "stretch" over time, or does it just handle slightly more food because the wounds have healed up?- fatsecret.com buddies wanted
The search doesn't work correctly, to find someone type in this URL and append their user name to the back: "http://www.fatsecret.com/member/" So ... Eureka-C - Member globetrotter - Member DougNichols - Member Donna4545 - Member- Finally found the food tracker that works for me
From using both, my perspective: FS (FatSecret) has more foods. I was setting up custom foods for everything (Chunky Soup, Isopure, Atkins shakes, fast food, dozens of other things). It even has grocery store custom items (Albertson's soups). It also has many things I buy from Whole Foods. These things I had to setup as custom foods in Fitday, and I hated it. FS lets you setup meals. In Fitday I had this huge spam of food (5 ingredients for my turkey sandwich, all kinda custom foods, etc). Fitday doesn't split it up into breakfast/lunch/dinner, but FS does. I like the organization of meals better, it's easier to understand. Fitday logs me out too often, I'm always online with FS. You can see other people's diets and results, and have buddies and such. Plus the FS site is faster (much) for me at least.- pre-surgery advice for sleevers
I laughed so hard I was crying, and my side hurt. :w00t:- Just finished my sleep study - ugh
I got there on time, but some guy before me had ordered some equipment and was standing at the counter arguing with the lady for over an hour. He insisted that she shred his credit card information and form that he filled out, then hand him the shreddings. :confused1: After another 30 minutes of her calling the boss to cover her ass, I finally got into my "room" and hooked up. When they say "like a hotel room", it's just a bed, TV and fan. Their satellite didn't work, so when I tried changing the channel it said "updating from satellite" forever. So no TV for me. There was a shower down the hall, but it was really gross so I didn't bother. The hookup process took 30 minutes, and involved her putting some medical goo all over my face and hair, then attaching about 50 electrodes. They measure your head, and put little X's all over it like a treasure map. Some are stuck right next to your eye, so you can't sleep on that side or it pokes you in the eyeball when you lay on your side. Once done, I was laid in bed and couldn't do squat except sleep. It's like being in a full body cast... :scared0: She jacked the fan on HIGH and turned the light off before leaving. It was colder than a freezer in the room, which was awesome. I'm sure the 3 other fat guys taking the study next to me were happy too (it's hot outside). Of course, I can't sleep with all this sh*t on me. Especially the one covering my nose. This study is supposed to determine if I have trouble breathing, but then they have this huge device right under your nose. NOW I HAVE TROUBLE BREATHING, THANKS. My big wad of wires kept getting disconnected, so they came in several times to fix it. They poked me awake at 5am (on a Sunday, ugh) and removed all the electrodes, leaving this sticky medical goo all over my face and head. Plus my forehead now looks like a pirate's hidden treasure map. I had to fill out five forms asking if I snored (how am I supposed to know?) and such, then left. - Half Way Point 105 Pounds Down
