  1. I am the first surgery of the day: 7:30am. One day, 9hrs, 45mins from now. Oh yeaaaaa!!! Im such a dork...LOL!
  2. I'm feeling the same way. I have an appt to go to the hospital later today for the blood work, and I cant sleep. I'm so excited that I think its turning into anxiety.
  3. I'm surprised to see that there aren't many sleevers here from Houston. I have noticed that a lot of people in Houston are getting banded. Not for me, but good luck with that. So how have you all been? Whats your statuses now?
  4. Hi Leigh Ann: I am also scheduled for surgery on the 17th. 6 more days girl...6 more days!! I live in Houston and will be getting banded my Dr. Said Bina at NeWeigh. I am so excited!!
  5. Thank you everyone for the responses. I'm sure some of the goodies will go away, but if I could get to goal and reverse some of the damage I have done to myself internally, I will be overjoyed! I just want to get outta these plus sized clothes. I'm sick of paying that extra $10!!
  6. My bigger "friends" had the same response & said things like..."How are you gonna pay for something like that??" or "You know you gonna look older because of the extra skin!" & my favorite: "Uh uhhh...you gonna get too skinny!!" My thinner "friends" said stuff like "Why dont you just stop eating so much & workout??!" What I think about it is, the bigger friends may be a little envious because you wont be in the "Big Girl's Club" anymore and the thinner ones just dont understand the struggle. Despite what others may think or say, you know why you are doing this. You have done your research & know all the risks and benefits. If you lose someone along the way, as sad as it is, thats what happens along this journey. There are plenty of people on this site that you can connect with. All you can do is be you!! Dont let anyone steal your joy!
  7. I dont have an answer for your question, but since you are almost 3 weeks out & have lost 20lbs, have you seen any changes in your breasts? I am worried about this as well.
  8. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything clever, but it would be cool if we could use Oktoberfest in some type of way.
  9. Ren, can you believe it?? I'm getting so nervous that i think I'm making myself sick. I having been eating the same (which isn't a bad thing) or sleeping well. I'm just SO excited!
  10. I feel the same way I felt when I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to share the great news with everyone, but also wanted to be a bit discreet. Someone who is struggling with their weight may need to see that you are making this decision for yourself, and that lead them in the direction to researching and considering WLS. I have a friend who got a LapBand Sept 2010. After she got it she told me about it and that got me researching, which ended up here at getting a sleeve a little over a year later. (She is not happy with the LB & is considering VSG.) After the weight comes off, people are gonna ask anyway...*shrug*
  11. Thank you ladies! I am def glad to hear that! LR6909: You are halfway there girl!! Congrats! Has your journey been harder or about the same as you thought it would be. Nikkeystar: Same question to you, as someone who has almost reached their goal (CONGRATS!! I cant imagine how great you feel for accomplishing that) was it harder, easier, or about the same?
  12. Hello everyone!! I am happy to say that I start my VSG journey on October 17th in Houston, Tx with Dr. Bina. I am ridiculously excited about it. I wish I could wake up tomorrow & its surgery day. It is going to be wonderful to start 2012 with a new outlook on food and life. I'm so happy to be getting the surgery in Oct so by Jan I can eat regular foods again. I look forward to witnessing all of your journeys! Bon voyage!!
  13. October 17!! Suuuuuuper excited!
  14. Hi everyone!! I'm in Houston, TX & going through NeWeigh. I got my approval today (thank you Aetna!!) and my surgery is scheduled for October 17th. I am so excited that I cant even contain myself! I am feeling a little bit of anxuety, but I calm myself down by making a list of things I am going to miss, things I am not gonna miss, and what I am looking forward to. I'M GONNA MISS: cookies & cream ice cream, McDonald's fries, garlic bread, Texas sized margaritas, all things chocolate. I'M NOT GONNA MISS: that heavy feeling on my chest, having to wear Spanx in the summer, the bruises in my shoulders from my bra straps, having to suck it in all the time, being the fat girl of my group of friends. WHAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO: shopping in regular sized stores, running around with my son, walking without knee and back pain, hearing..."Girl you look good! What have you been doing?" What are some of the things you all would put on these lists?
  15. Hey AA Sisters. I am a very curvy woman and I am scared that I am gonna lose some of my voluptuousness. LOL! Truth is though, if I have to lose some curves to lose 85 pounds, I'm OK with that too. Peace&Love
  16. Hi! I live in Sugar Land. I am going through NeWeigh in Houston. I just got my approval today and I am SOOOOOOOO excited to start my new life. My surgery is scheduled for October 17th. I cant wait!!
