  1. Happy Surgiversary Lissa! This post made me happy, sad, hopeful, and thankful. Thank you so much for sharing your story.
  2. I went on a 5 day cruise 3months post op. I didn't buy any clothes until a week before we left because i wasnt sure what size I would be. Luckily, I live in Houston where summer clothes are sold year round...but you can definitely shop online. There are healthy food choices on the cruise ship and all the walking around on the ship and the ports made for good exercise. Have fun & bon voyage!
  3. I love when sleeve vets come back to post! How much are you able to eat? Do you still have pretty good restriction? Do you eat "no-no" foods? Sorry for the barrage of questions.
  4. Good luck everyone!! October 17th is my 1yr Surgiversary & I am sooooo excited. This year went by fast. Just think, 13 months from now, you'll be in my position... AT GOAL!
  5. Why so serious? I am a totally open book...both on this site and in my life. I used to worry about who knew about my surgery, but I realized it was because i felt self conscious about it. Now, i don't care who knows, who judges, or who questions my decision because i am happier and healthier than I've been in my life. What people think about you isn't your problem so why worry about it? You have more important things to worry about like those damn fluids and Vitamins. I am happy to be someone who people in the first stages of their journey can look to for inspiration. I had people i looked to as a guide or a blueprint, so why not? *shrugs*
  6. Honey...the only reason you need to get a divorce is because you are not happy, which you obviously aren't. You can't save a marriage if one of the people in the marriage is not willing to work on the issues. The real issues are his cheating, drug use, and financial problems; you having surgery, being religious, and spending time with your family has nothing to do with it. He is insecure that when you lose the weight and start to get attention from other men, you will stray. Just thank God that you are seeing him for what he is now vs 20 years and several children later. Find your HAPPY girl!!
  7. I confess that I'm afraid that I will be fat again but the time I'm 40.
  8. OK I have 5 more: 6. I confess that I down played some things on my psych eval. 7. I confess that some days I only eat once. 8. I confess that I hate to see people shovel food in their mouths. 9. I confess that I look in the mirror too much and take waaayyy too many pics. 10. I confess that my new found confidence may be a gift and a curse. It felt even better to get those 5 out.
  9. 1. I confess that I never have gotten in all my fluids, Protein, and Vitamins on the same day. 2. I confess that I haven't been to the gym since June. 3. I confess that I enjoy a few cocktails per month. 4. I confess that I like the look on people's faces that I have seen since surgery. 5. I confess that before surgery I was in such a deep lonely depression that I didn't think I deserved to live. Dang that felt good!!
  10. Get it girl! And the best part of this is that you feel even better later. Enjoy your journey.
  11. You look gorgeous!! Congratulations. (Really cute hair!!)
  12. You look fantastic! Beautiful! Everything. Lol!
  13. I just cut my hair off in Saturday for this very reason. I just couldn't take it anymore. I've taken multivitamins every day and biotin since 2 months post op. Nothing worked for me, but some women on here have recommended Biosilk.
  14. Happy birthdayyyy!! I have no loose skin either for the exact same reasons as Sleeve Of Steel. I also kept my arms, legs, and stomach moisturized with Palmer's stretch mark cream because it has collagen, elastin and Vitamin e. That may have helped a bit.
  15. I eat pizza, but only the toppings. The bread is too thick even if you chew it 20 times. I love tacos. My excuse for eating them is that they have all 5 food groups in them. Ha! You just have to eat slowly and chew thoroughly.
  16. Skinny Cow has a whole line of ice cream products that are delish! You can go online to see the nutritional info before you buy them.
  17. I've been taking Biotin regularly since 2 months post op. I'm just one of those people who it didn't work for. Thank you! I'm loving the easier maintenance of the short hair. Can't wait to try different looks with it.
  18. Wow! Thank you!! There are a few ladies I love to watch on YouTube as well. They helped me get through the last couple of months. Good luck with your hair!
  19. Thank you VACookey! If no one else can tell, then you're in good shape. How long have you used the biosilk? I've never tried it &think I should start now so my hair can grow back healthy.
  20. Post a pic tomorrow so we can see the new hair cut. Thank you, i love the super short look. I changed my profile pic so you guys can see it & since I screwed up the post.
  21. My natural hair was always thick and healthy. I used the weaves for variety, but then it turned into a necessity. The hair loss wasn't bad until about 6months out, then it literally started falling out. I'm glad I lost enough weight to rock this look!
  22. The link Pevette provided should take you right to it.
  23. Aww man...the pic didn't load. Can someone tell me how to delete this topic?
