Weightloss: Am I Slacking?
Coodles to you! 80pds is a major milestone in your weight loss. Don't listen to what others have done. Listen to your body and what you are comfortable with. Every one is different. I agree with Becca shakes are not the way to turn to. Eating right and making wise decesions on what to eat is the way to go. I have been a sleever since july of this yr. As of today, i have lost 67 pounds but I have been extremely strict with myself. I really feel its how your body is reacting and how we treat our bodies back. Take a bow! Your doing GREAT!

Getting ready for Thanksgiving
It can be taxing on the brain when it comes to turkey time. Even more so now that you have been sleeved. One good tip that I learned this past week on how not to over eat during this holiday. Take a good 4 to 6oz's of water 30 mintues before you leave. Take the smaller plate size and use good judgement when it comes to choosing what foods you are going to eat. Eat slow and enjoy your food. There is even room for a smalllllll taste of pumpkin pie.

How many people have you've told about your sleeve?
Ladies I could not agree with you more. I too tell everyone who asks me how I have lost the weight. I feel stronger when I can come out and tell my friends and family about the surgery. I did this surgery to improve my life. To improve my attitude on life. I want to help allllll those sleevers who are just starting out who are in the middle like myself and those who are sitting on the fence. This is the best thing I've ever done for Myself. Thanks for writing your personal stories.

Goal? Is yours in sight?
My goal seems so far away at this point. My surgeon and I have set a goal for me but right now I am so down cos my weight loss has slowed down so much. I am doing what I am suppose to be doing but it feels like I am not getting anywhere fast. I go up a pound, come down a pound. Feels like this cycle that doesn't end. Anyone have suggestions getting past this?

4 month stall
I am getting close to my 4 months. I to have gone through the cravings but I am fighting them. I've been so stricked with myself since the surgery. Now that I am fully healed I can eat almost everything. I've lost over 50 pds in 3 months - no complaints. But I am at a stand still. It's been over a week. I've continued to keep on my control regiment but it is discouraging to not see the scale tip my way. Congrats on ur weight loss. You are doing fab.

Why should we hide that we had surgery?
Recently I ran into an old friend I haven't seen in a while. She recognized my weight loss Nf asked me how I lost the weight. I hesitated for a moment. I wasn't sure if I should tell her I had the gastric surgery 3 months ago. Why? I decided quickly to tell her that I had the surgery. Why should we hide our smart decision to finally attack our weight issue? Do you have a hard time telling people about your weight decision?

Why do hide our decision about our weight surgery?
Coming out of the kitchen closet isn't an easy decesion. I grant you that. But being able to talk about to others helps you continue on. Some of my friends were not swayyed one way or the other. Some were "CONGRATS" and a few were shocked! Getting a mixed reaction is apart of our daily lives. Each person has a different outlook on how they view things. Its so true, skinny ppl have no clue what we are up against. They say "just put the fork down". Its much more than that. Congrats on your current weight loss. Each pound is one pound less you had before. Try not to look back on what you did in the past rather what you are doing now to change it. I too have been up and down the scale before. Feels at times I am married to it! You have made a decesion to change the way you view food. Having any kind of gastic procedure is a step in the right direction. True as well the pounds are not going to melt away. We still have to work hard on making the right food decesions... not always an easy task. Keep in touch and read the blogs. They are a great tool for you to learn new techniques and tips on how to stay on track. Wishing you much luck and thank you for writing in.

Why do hide our decision about our weight surgery?
Don't panic...keep doing what you are doing. The doctor is right keep drinking. You need to flush your system out. By drinking fluids this is the way. The first few days you won't see any results but the scale will tip down be patient. Keep us informed on how your doing and don't give up. Were rooting for ya!

Sabotaging ourselves?
Its so odd I started doing this now. I am now, 15 weeks past my surgery and I found myself skipping. First I thought, perhaps I am just so busy or is it something I am doing without even realizing it? Good idea about the protein bar. Being that I am always on the go that is one way I can get some protein in me. Thanks for sharing ohh and thanks for the compliment too!

Helping others...
I so agree with you on the sharing end. I have made myself available to anyone who is wanting to do the sleeve and or is going through it. Its nice to have a shoulder to lean on when times get rough. Through my surgeon Dr. Feiz, I have met other sleevers and we share our experiences together. A few of us have become friends and go out, excerise and share. Thanks for the reply!
