My goal seems so far away at this point. My surgeon and I have set a goal for me but right now I am so down cos my weight loss has slowed down so much. I am doing what I am suppose to be doing but it feels like I am not getting anywhere fast. I go up a pound, come down a pound. Feels like this cycle that doesn't end. Anyone have suggestions getting past this?

Set yourself a series of smaller, achievable goals on your way to the big one. And make sure you reward each succes, those you have planned and those that catch you buy surprise.

I agree with SageTracey! Don't be afraid to celebrate every little thing along the way.. sometimes the end goal can seem so daunting, but as you celebrate each little victory it will help you to realize that you're really getting there~~ however long it may take! Even if the scale isn't giving up the pounds you may still be losing inches!! That has been a big one for me.. I've found that when I'm not dropping pounds, I drop more inches! It doesn't make sense in my head, but it's reality! Every time you drop a size, or realize a non-scale victory get on here and toot your horn! It not only will help you to feel better, but it will help encourage others too!

I always say the same thing, but many disagree. When my band is nice and tight I can only eat tiny meals at a time. Yes, I do try to make good food choices but my band prevents me from overeating and I need that. I always say look into getting a fill if you are not losing! I admire all the people on here who are basically dieting and hoping their band keeps them more full or less hungry. I dont have that kind of willpower and I think dieting is how I became obese. I get a bitchslap from my band if I eat more than about a half a cup of food...so I have lost my weight fairly easily.

I agree. How long has it been since you had your surgery?
