  1. Oh yes you can use propofol too! (I forgot) In MASS it needs to be administered by an anesthesiologist (which is BS because I administer it every day to animals, it is super safe just not when you abuse it, sorry MJ), and they didn't have one. So propoflo is fine too. Just make sure you aren't given just diazepam (valium) it makes for a seriously awful experience. I guess you could ask.. "am i going to be completely sedated for this procedure" and they will probably tell you something like twilight...blah blah... But then you could ask what drugs they use.
  2. Hey, Not to scare you but I just had an endoscopy done and the "good drugs" were on back order so they gave a light sedative and it was the worst experience EVER. I would just recommend to ask them if there is any drug shortage or what they will be sedating with you. Normally they sedate with versed and fentanyl. I personally believe they didn't want to use large amounts of these drugs on me so they used diazapam instead because my 100lb friend went 1 week prior and she got "the good stuff". I am sure you will be fine, but I just thought I'd share my experience.
  3. <== Depressed. I miss my friend, I hate the way body is starting to look, I miss drinking with the girls, I have the worst breath.. I know it will get better, but it sucks for the moment.
  4. Good for you!! Zyetric, huh I may try that. I have allegra but didn't know if that would work. It also spread to my lower belly
  5. Also.. Pookey, Do you have a study that I can look up for this? I having a neuro follow up next week and I would like to present this to him.
  6. I can't believe I am seeing this.. For the past 7 months I have had epiletic-like activity. I have twitches and fasciculations, and while I was in the hospital I was very worried I may have made them worst because the left side of my head kept twitching... Anyway every day the twitches calmed down, I sort of thought it was the Milk of Mag I took, since Magnesium some times helps me.. I actually don't think I have twitched in 2 days, and I am more purple than Barney on the ketone strips.. But now that I read this I wonder..... Thanks for the info!! You tube link to my "leg seizures"
  7. Same exact thing happened to me 2 days ago and is still going on! I have redness and hives around my incision sites. I have been using hydrocortisone AROUND the sites, topical benadryl cream and oral benadryl... I am afraid I am going to scar my poor tummy from scratching so hard. If you find out what is causing it let me know. I didn't have steristrips, no staples, no dressing, just glue.
  8. I guess even though I ate like I had a stomach of steel before, I had a lot of GERD. My gerd is cured and now I have heartburn I don't have any staples, but my incisions were covered with glue. I also feel like I am going to pop a suture because all the rest of my fat is protruding out and then my incision is like dented in. What type of gallstone prevention are you one. I am super worried I am going to develop gallstones!
  9. Ok, I had my surgery on the 8th and feel crummy! What am I doing wrong?? Does it hurt when you guys take a lick of yogurt? Do you get heartburn and terrible gas? My incisions are now covered in hives, maybe my body is rejecting this surgery!! Also I have been mourning my bff food for the past 9 days : ( On the plus side I have lost 20 lbs since the surgery
  10. So confused.. 1/2 cup is too much? Even if it is a shake?
  11. The last 7 days I was able to drink my 64oz with no problem, infact I was worried I was going to cause I leak I was drinking so much. I was also able to eat my protein 3 - 4 times a day and I was still looking for more. Today I can't sip, I can't eat, I feel ok but just am SO FULL. Have you experienced this?
  12. Hello everyone. I am dreaming about my mushie phase that I will be transferring to next week. I have been a vegetarian for the past 4 years and have decided to allow chicken and fish into my diet because I don't like soy and won't get the large amount of Protein I need by eating chick peas. I was wondering if you knew how to prepare chicken/fish so I can eat it during the mushies? Also I read deli meat is allowed, do you have to puree it or can you just roll and chew? Thanks
  13. I am wondering the same thing, then I wonder if I should quit the bean.
  14. Although I thought the nurses were awesome at the time I am realizing they didn't know what was going on Thanks for your well wishes!!
  15. OMG, I am so scared, I took the Alieve because the nurses told me to! I called my doctor today because of all my issues and told her what meds I was on and she said NO to alieve, what if I caused an ulcer!?!?!?! My gas pains are a lot better after the Milk of Magnesia.
  16. I had to double check to make sure I wasn't the one that wrote this first post. I was sleeved on the 8th as well and wondering the same thing. I met a friend who had no post op pain, and hardly took the medication. I obviously have a different pain threshold.. I have never been in so much pain, EVER. I have major heartburn, gas pain, middle chest pain, constipation, blurred vision (from the meds?), My belly is black and blue from the heparin shots, My lungs feel like they can't breath, I have actually developed sleep apnea. I am oh so hungry, but can't eat any thing. I am HOPING this gets better, just hoping.
  17. I am only 3 days out, and have NEVER had a sex drive, but that is all I can think about (well that and when I can eat a real meal)
  18. Can I get an application : ) I am obviously just kidding, but I think I will try to add some liquid nsaid to my mix, after I cry pain to my doctor. Thanks everyone for your responses, and here's to a much better recovery!
  19. Good to know but I am not sure why people rob pharmacies for this, it barley touches my pain just makes me sleepy
  20. It isn't oxycontin it is oxycodine (almost like hydrocodine) , just to clarify.
  21. So what did everyone have for meds? They gave me 5mg of oxycoden 20mg of famotidine 0.12mg of hyoscyamine something for nasuea and they told me to take alieve but I don't know often I can take this.
  22. Yes, this is a US doctor at a top Boston hospital. One of the nurses didn't cut the pills for me and I told her they had to be cut and she said no they didn't. Seriously?? She eventually cut it, but why do I the sedated patient have to tell her that. How much are you guys walking? I am walking around the house, but I think that is all I can handle. I was also told to take alieve, which i swear is the only thing that is helping me.
  23. No Liquid pain medications, just pill form of oxycodine. The pills feel like glass going down, worst feeling ever. They gave me this plastic thing with a tube to breath through, and I have but it hurts my lungs so bad. Thanks for responding, I hope my day 4 will be better.
