had the same exact thing happen to me too! I thought I was the only one. you are allergic to steri strips. did you take them off? also clean the areas well with rubbing alcohol to dissolve and get rid of all the left over glue/debris. I tried hydrocortisone over the counter, worked a tiny bit, but then it got worse again. I was taking benadryl 50mg at night so I could stop itching and sleep, but I still woke up itching. So what actually worked was getting a prescription strength steriod ointment (triamcinolone 0.1% ointment twice a day) and putting this on took care of it within 1 day. had to tell the surgeon how to prescribe it (15 grams) lol!!! hope it goes away, it's so annoying, the itch was unbelievably uncomfortable

they all fell off... i am so uncomfortable though. and now i just have to wait to see the dr next week.

My ichiness was caused from the pain meds. Once I stopped taking them, the itchiness stopped. I did take Benadryl too. Check with your Dr. if it persists.

In the first aid isle, there's some antiseptic spray for "minor cuts and bug bites" it works WONDERS!

My itchiness was due to the dressing that were over and the tape irritated my skin. I had to start using small pieces of different take and then finally a bandaid. i put some cortisone cream on the rash area but did not get it onto there the incision was as did not want any infection.

I'm so allergic to surgical tape and adhesive bandages that I have a permanent rectangular mark where the drain was. The adhesive left a scar.

Call your doctor to get a prescription for something. You need your rest, and can't stay up all night scratching!

Same exact thing happened to me 2 days ago and is still going on! I have redness and hives around my incision sites. I have been using hydrocortisone AROUND the sites, topical benadryl cream and oral benadryl... I am afraid I am going to scar my poor tummy from scratching so hard. If you find out what is causing it let me know. I didn't have steristrips, no staples, no dressing, just glue.

It got so bad that I had to go to a walkin clinic and the dr told me I had contact dermatitis. He said I had a reaction to the glue. Now I'm using a prescription steroid cream and zyertic. I'm feeling soo much better and I'm down 25 lbs!!!
