No More Plus Size Shops!
What a great accomplishment! Congratulations. I tried on some old 18Ws the other day and they were tight but I could get them on. I like my clothes loose so I'll try again in 10lbs or so. My body is so different now because I've had a baby since I was a size 18 and I'm thicker in the area between my hips and waist :/ . My size 38 bras are going around me again too, but C cup just doesn't wrangle in the girls any more.

Post Sleeve Diet
Strained progresso soups were the thing that saved me. One full months of fluids huh? What about thinned yogurt? Greek yogurt thinned with some kind of juice maybe? Good luck!

I've Been Bad
peacequeen, you've been through the ringer so please don't kick yourself over a few bites if cheesecake! like another said, don't eat a whole cheesecake by grazing on it over a day or two either! I've been tracking on myfitnesspal and most days I get between 650 & 800 calories so if a worthy treat presents itself, I have a little. one thing that helps post sleeve is if I eat too much junk I feel awful and that helps me stay away from the bad stuff.

Post-Op Discouragement
The move to regular foods is hard sometimes and one of the hardest things (for me) is that I have to stop eating way before I think I'm full because one bite too many is just down right unpleasant. It seems rediculous to eat 1/3 cup of anything but sometimes I even need to stop at 1/4 cup for denser foods. Last night I had chicken and I mixed it with a little yogurt and some shredded cheese and that went well. I even followed it with a few canned green Beans about 40 minutes later. I didn't have any issues with vomiting until I started regular foods. I have to constantly remind myself to chew way more than I'm used to, let some time pass between bites, really watch the volume and try to get the denser Proteins lubricated somehow. Who thought I'd be learning to eat at 40?

Starting Mushies, Feeling Guilt. Wth?!
oh yeah! my head often went to "why am I bothering to eat this when I'm trying to loose weight anyway". Now I'm battling the 1/3 cup of food at a time now- it's sort-of like, why bother and it doesn't ususally make me feel very good- especially meats. I need to practice chewing more with meats and have to fight the idea of taking a little liquid to help soften them up. Last night I ate some chicken and felt awful for 30 minutes or so. I don't regret surgery for a second but eating is more of a chore than pleasure for sure these days!

Endoscopy Thursday - What Happens?
mine was super easy too and I was FREAKED out about it. my blood pressure has never been that high to my knowledge as it was when I checked in for the endo! they got an IV going and they took me back and the Dr came in and told me a little about what they'd do. I remember them telling me to lean on my side and thinking to myself how was I going to keep myself propped up like that... the next I knew I was rolling over and looking at my mom in the prep area again!

Meeting With The Surgeon
how much of the stomach they typically remove, will you have a drain, will you still have a tube down into your stomach when you wake up. these were big q's for me at least.

Learning To Eat Slower
yes, this is causing me some trouble too. half the time I'm not sure if its because I'm hungry or if I'm just trying to get the eating done since it's not nearly as fun any more! My half an english muffin and almond butter is sitting not so nicely right now...

January 2012 Sleevers!
Congrats on the soft-foods additions. Makes life so much nicer. I had mashed potatoes from Popeye's on Sunday and they were *really* good... I've tried to avoid starch so I skipped the oatmeal and cream of wheat so far. However, I did eat a little bit of a cookie yesterday. Sadly it went down just fine, unlike the tuna fish I tried to eat for lunch!

5 Days Post Op I'm Effin Starving
It was about day 5 for me too and I was on perscription heartburn meds so it wasn't acid for me! It was finally being around other eating and seeing/smelling food. I was sleeved on a Monday and by Saturday I was ready for something more than liquids. I upped my consumption of strained soups mixed with broth when this started for me. It was kind-of a head trip to strain out and dispose of all the solids from a $2 can of soup, but it was so much more satisfying than just broth and was a recommendation from my surgeon. The full liquids will help- split pea soup and campbles V8 makes some good soups in green boxes- I liked the broccoli soup. Good luck! It'll be past soon!

Liquids And Meals
I'm dealing with this right now! I'm eating my deli style sliced chicken and it's salty and I'm trying so hard not to drink my iced tea (decaf!) with it. The foods that expand with Water (breads esp), you won't be eating much of for a good long while!

The slimes.... can anyone explain them?
Thanks for the reply! I really think I only had a tiny bit and less than yesterday. There's no way I even got to 1/4 cup either time. I might have needed to chew a little more but it was pretty soft... I'll just stick to lunch meat! It's hard to get good fresh fish where I live unless you buy a huge slab at Costco...

January 2012 Sleevers!
AJ - I had a 6 day or so stall between the end of week two and the middle of week 3. I think it's pretty common but if you're exercising it could also be the loosing inches not pounds issue. I seemed to drop about 4lbs over night and then started plodding down again. VSG Ready- I found some Camples V8 soups in green boxes at Target that have a pretty good broccoli soup. I also found I liked split pea soup- just watch out for the ones with chunks of ham or pork which aren't so good for a new sleeve I'd think. I also enjoyed strained progresso soups that I'd add some beef, veggie, or chicken broth to up the volume. Trader Joes has a good sweet potato soup and a good butternut squash soup (I found the organic butternut squash soup vastly better) in boxes if you have access to a Trader Joes. Last night I made some soup out of roasted asparagus, tofu and chicken broth. I just roasted a pound of asparagus in the oven with some olive oil and spices/salt, then blended it with a box of morinu extra firm tofu and added a can of chicken broth. Probably could have been 2lbs of asparagus to the whole box of tofu but the end result was quite tasty. I'm four weeks out yesterday and I'm down 30lbs. I need to step up my exercise because I'm probably only doing my real walking every other day...

Nsv - He Thinks He Is So Cool!
that would totally freak me out... the idea of anyone picking me up is just "freak out" territory. Even when I weighed much less and was salsa dancing regularly I didn't like being dipped because I always wanted to be fully supporting my own weight! but good for you! If someone ever calls me skinny I think I'll have heart failure! =)
