  1. Find yourself a seamstress.. I have a friend of mine go to a local shop and have almost all of her expensive businsess outfits taken in!! I have a few thing in my closet that I will be having done.. just because I like them so much, I cant bear to part with them
  2. I'm the same way.. its the only way i can get my liquid in...sipping does not work for me .. I am a gulper
  3. Hey there - I work at BCBS..Kansas City... and our plan just started covering the sleeve in November. Every BCBS is is owned indivudally so it may be that not all of them will cover this yet. I started my journey in October and was going to to the lapband (because sleeve was not covered at that time...) but by the time I went to my first appointment... bcbs started covering.. I was ecstatic to say the least. I can fish around for the codes.. It may take me a day or two.
  4. I am taking two 5000mcg pills per day (little geltabs)
  5. I am a tummy sleeper and by 14 -18 days I was on my tummy again..
  6. I have notices that my back does get tired and hurts a lot more and a lot faster than it ever did before surgery, and it is lower back pain... before surgery it was more of an upper back pain. I dont have any other symptoms though. Once I sit down.. it goes away quickly.
  7. i had my surgery on 2/16, and I am right there with you.. I was out shopping over the weekend.. and my side really started hurting too...especially when getting in and out of the car!

  9. I am right there with you!! I was sleeved on 2/16/12. And on my 12th day post op, I was down 16lbs. And my scale and been going up and down 1-2 lbs...but basically staying put!!! I know I am retaining water...so I TRY to drink more, but it seems like the more I drink the more I retain!! I have really been pushing the protien too... but nothing is making a diffrence!! It is very frustrating and completely discourging!! I was so worried about the "3 week stall" and was crushed when mine became a 2 week stall!!! Totally not good for my cofidence and esteem!! I am praying this hump is over quickly!!!
  10. I am 10 days post op...and I had minor shortness of breath until about day 7.

  12. I've been on my pre-op liquid diet for 2 weeks.. and I seriously dream about food EVERY NIGHT!! Uggghhh... horrible!
  13. Congrats!! Good Luck and God Bless!! I have my surgery tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck and all the success in the world.
  14. Thank You everyone for your input. My provider/hospital is a Center of Excellence as well. I have a fairly high tollerance for pain, and no "underlying medical issues", so I am sure this is why they say just a 1 night stay.... Dont get me wrong.... I would love to stay 2 - 3 nights.. just for the extra pampering... I remember when I had my children.. I would have been happy staying in the hosital for a week!!! I am less then 24 hours away from being sleeved!! And so stinking excited!! I'm not a nervous person..and I dont feel nervous... but I have notice that I have not been able to sleep well for the last 3 night... so I'm not sure if its some deep down nerves going on that I just am not feeling or if its just extreme excitement... probably a little of both!! I feel like a kid -- waiing to walk thru the gates of Disney World!!!
  15. I am having my surgery this coming Thursday. I have been reading alot of forums and blogs, and I was curious to how many nights most people are staying in the hospital?? I was informed that as long as there are no complications, I will be leaving early the next day. It seems to me that most people are staying multiple nights?? Should I be concerned about being released to go home that early?
  16. I am scheduled for surgery in 6 days. And I have read multiple times about sliming?? Can someone please explain what this is, when it happens and how to avoid this.
  17. I am doing the same day.. I scheduled mine on Thursday and will be returning on Tuesday. I have a desk job and work from home. So hopefully all will go well. Good Luck Ladies! Keep us posted.
