Hi Robin .. I am Deb and i am also working on getting my approval in March for a April/May surgery. We have a group on here its new we call it Springers. We are all working on a March/.April/May surgery date and going to help each other along the way. Would like to welcome you to join us.

I am not worried bout the surgery itself. I know that I would have more of a chance of getting involved in an accident then a bad outcome from the surgery. I am more worried that I will become non complaint and this to will fail... I so hope not cause i so need this to improve my life and move forward for me.

Yayyyy We have a home... I am Deb a 47 yr old mother of 4.. Oldest is 26 youngest is 18. I also have 3 grandbabies ( i tell my kids if i knew grandbabies was so fun i would have had them first...) I am an ER Nurse which i LOVE being and I do photography as a hobby. The pics i use for my profile are almost always pics i have taken. I was very active in high school and average built. WHen i was 18 i started having stomach issues and started vomiting everything i eat and thus didnt eat much and got way skinny. Then i got married pregnant and became a stay at home mom in a place I had never lived before and had no family or friends thus food became my best friend. I gained with that pregnancy and with each additional pregnancy. I to have tried every diet and lost then gained back. I am so ready for this. I dont have my date yet but I am pretty sure it will be in May and I am wayyyy excited.

Scorpio I think starting the group would be a good idea. It also expands the date so we can get more joiners. Even though i do think we have a great start to a great group of ppl. As for the 6 weeks to get into good habits. I eat worse when i am off work then when i am at work. I think its not having time to eat then. I figure if i am at work during the liquid stage will keep me to busy to think of being hungry. Least thats my hope. I am scared if i sit here I will have way to much time on my hands to think of not eating.

That or spingsters.... I am not taking anytime off that i can keep from taking. Cause i really hope in a year and half i will need time off for a tummy tuck. So what i am going to do is work up to the day of my surgery and then not to back till the next week. I can work 3 days before and not go back for a week and maybe take a day or 2 off is all. I will go back to triage which I did last year with a broken shoulder and arm in a sling.. LOL I am a bit of a work acholic though.

LadyBug Yea i havent bought her cookbook. I did see a cookbook on my kindle for Lapbanders. I am going to download it. As for the signture GO to your name up top of the page click and then go to my settings. ONce your there look on the left side you will see signture click that then you can edit and type in what you want...

LOL Scopio i wish that would work. But he wants the insurance to approve it first and i do understand that. Being in the Medical field i see how if they schedualed a bunch of surgerys and they didnt get approved or didnt happen then they would lose alot of money. But i promise my 6 mos is over on march 22 and i am going to start bugging the insurance company on the 24.. lol They will get sick of me.

I guess being and ER nurse is why i am not nervous. Or maybe its cause i dont have an actual date yet. I am just way excited. Cant wait. But i do admit i do sometimes think oh I wont be able to have this again etc. But you know thats ok if i cant. I can find something else to love like hmmm clothes shopping. LOL i have been finding myself looking at things like halloween costumes (its my bday) to find something cute not a tent this time

13 is my fav number.. And May 13th is one of my fav dates. I grad high school on a Friday May 13 and 2 years later my oldest son was born on may 13th.. lol if it wasnt i want my surgery the first day of May i would choose May 13th. Good Luck i cant wait to follow your progress

Congrats on the start of your journey. I am in my 5th month of my work required 6 mos. It will be over in March and hope to get my approval with in weeks of that...You can learn tons on here. I also suggest the book Bandwagon. I have been reading it and it is so full of info..

LisaJane, After much thought on this. I have decided i would be broken hearted if i went for my preop only to be told i could not have my surgery related to this. So since i work with PAs and MDs i discussed it with a PA and we have decided since it wouldnt hurt I am going to do the Treatment for it now. That way i should be fine by time I go for my pre-op. Sorta a preventive strike. I may not have it anymore but would much rather be sure.

When did you have your band... How long did it take you to lose 50 lbs if may ask. I have not had my band yet and wondering.

Ohhh lol getting more and more jealous of you all getting it done in April but going to use you all to strive for and to keep me informed of what to expect.So every lb you guys lose i can think Next month i will be losing that too....

wow Elizabeth 2 years? I am so glad i only had to do 6 mos.

I am in my 5th month of my 6 mos now. Will know the end of march first of april if i am approved. I cant wait.

My youngest child is 18 now. I have lost weight really well a couple times in the last few years but just couldnt keep up the dieting and then would gain it all plus more back. I would love to help each other on this journey.
