Drum roll please!!!! My date is May 2, 2012 the day that my life will change. Yea i know its not in april (Sigh) but due to my long planed family vacation to florida April 7 to 14 I cant get my preop till the 20th so that pushes back my surgery date to May2 Now thats going to be a LONG LONG 4 weeks. Good thing I am going to be so busy on vacation one week so that week will fly by. Then I got preop stuf to do so I am hoping it goes by fast. I do preop April 20th then see the surgeon on April 25 ( irronic that was my choosen surgery date) then I go back the following week for surgery as long as nothing comes up on preop (Fingers crossed i sure hope not) Yea i am stoked...

In my hands i have the letter of approval!!! Finally now i can fax it (which i am going to go do in a few mins) to my surgeons office and finally get a surgery DATE!!! i am way excited to get this moving. Yet like most i am a bit scared to. I want this so bad that to fail is not acceptable to me.

Jess the Carewise group called my surgeons office and told them i was approved its just they require the approval letter. So i am waiting on that. I wouldnt think it would take long to get it. I sure hope not. I have my heart set on an april 25 date.

Hi Jess I am also with BCBSIL. But i had to do a carewise program for 6 weeks. It ended March 22 and my Surgeons office called to tell me they had verbal approval Yesterday!!! I dont get to schedual my surgery till we get my approval letter but looking at the 25th... I am way excited for us all.

Awww dont let it get you down. Soon your be banded and losing lbs like a mad woman. I have not even been weighing as of late. I figure My time is coming I am not going to sweat it right now.

Wow this blog really made me excited. I just got approved yesterday and hoping to have my band placed by the last of april., I keep thinking what will i be and look like by my birthday and hopefull a cruse iam going on with my friends. That will be 6 mos from the time of my surgery. Your post gives me alot of hope.

The 26th is my date i am aiming for the surgeons group told me they dont see why we cant do it then. I have my vacation from april 7 to 14th in florida so that time is out. Also i have arranged for the days off i need for the 26th. So i am happy if i can get that date.

I woke up today and i told myself today is the day. Felt really good bout it. I came to work and th e first min i had i called the insurance company while on hold with them i got a phone call on my cell, was the surgeons group to inform me they had received the phone call from carewise telling them I am APPROVED!!! I cant set my date yet cause i have to wait for an actual letter the surgeons wants it instead of just verbal but least i know now this is not a pipedream its going to happen... I cant tell you all how happy i am today!!!

LOL well i am scared of heights and mice. When my boy was like 12 and 10 We lived in cali and i had my front door open in ran a little kangroo mouse I paniced JUMPED on my couch started yelling and my 2 little boys had to come save mom.. LOL we still laugh bout it.

I have called my insurance and asked ... 2 times already once wen and then today. They told me they had not heard from the Carewise i had to go my 6 mos thourh yet... but that someone named Sheila ( i really think thats from my drs ofice) had called asking them what my benefits was. I am thinking that might be a good sign, since carewise told me they would call the surgeon as soon as they knew. I did try to call the surgeons office today but ITs preop day there so no one got back to me yet

Hey i totally feel you. I had to do a 6 mos program which ended tue and i was told tue it would be submited that day or next and less then a week i will know. I have called the insurance now 2 times. I am hating this waiting. I was ok for the 6 mos now that i should be days away from knowning its driving me NUTS!

I miss her to and wish she would let us know she is ok. No matter what choice she makes.

Glove I have been trying to post a topic i saw on here earler today. Was a girl who lost over 119 lbs in 9 mos. I couldnt help but look at her happy face. That can be everyone of us. I guess i am in a way Lucky I have 2 friends at work who has done the band. And while one of them had a slight complication after surgery she is now doing fine 2 yrs out. I have asked them both multiple times if they would do this again. And their answer is a very Resounding YES. Nothing worth having is easy or without risks. We all just have to figure out how much we are willing to give up or risk to have it. I do know that you will choose what is right for you and that no matter what you chose we will support you. Just dont give up something you wanted for so long on a spur of a moment ok hon.. Smile

Dear Glove i to read that ladys post. I saw where you had posted to her and I even then could feel your fear. Heres the deal No one but you can tell you what you should do. I will say that its common to have fear. But let me just throw out some medical stuff since thats what i am. Your risk of cutting your life short as a 70 lb over weight female is there. Also are you really enjoying your life? I know for me that my legs swell. I am short of breath way to often. I have high bp ( not super high but high) So if i dont do something NOW then i am risking my life, a much higher risk then i face with the surgery. As far as the band failing? No the band isnt what really fails its the ppl working the band. Think bout it. If you follow the rules and you go see the dr for fills then how do you fail? I cant tell you that you wont have ANY bad things or bad times with the band I wish i could tell everyone that. But dont let one Negitive person turn you off something you have worked for.

Hi everyone I know i have not been posting as much as of late as usual. Been super busy here as well as just a tad depressed on feeling that i was not making any progress towards getting my surgery. The delays I had really upset me mentally. Well today I finally got my last Carewise phone call. And was told that she would submit my file today or tomorrow for review and that normally in less then a week she has an answer and that it has never taken longer then 2 weeks. Then she would call my insurance and dr and tell them i am approved!!! She said that she felt that i had everything turned in and didnt see any reason why i couldnt get an Late April surgery date. I am sooo excited. I cant wait to start bugging the insurance compnay ... lol. Yayyyyy!!!

No date yet. Talked to the dietican and she is calling me tue for the last time. I hope with in days i get aproved and can call the surgeon to set a date i am still hoping for april 25th. WIll be sure to let you all know. Dhale no they dont require the egd that i have been told bout. But i will be sure to let the dr know i had hpylo before and show him that i have recently treated it. That should take care of any questions. I just felt i wanted to be ahead of the ball game on it.

Dhale. I have heard of another person that they found Hpylora in and thus delayed her surgery. I had that years ago and I was not very good at taking meds and i didnt finish the whole treatment So i was very worried that they would do preop and find that and stop my surgery So i am doing the treatment plan again NOW. Got one of the providers i work with to write me the scribts needed. So that hopefully when i get a date wont be any other things delaying me. Deb

Hey dhale thats how i am trying to look at it. I am trying hard not to stress it. I will be much more relaxed i know when i get the notice i am approved. I hope by march 25 I have that. I hate waiting.. Never been good at it... lol

Think i am going tomorrow to get me a new Iphone 4s. I am using and EVO now. So will wait till then to check out this program. lol not sure i want anyone to know what i am eating untill after i am back from vacation. I do not plan on being a good girl while there. Deb
