  1. I am roughly 3.5 months post banding and down 30 pounds. Started at 226 and currently 196.
     
    I thought it would come off faster but I don't think I am in the "green" zone yet. I am doing my best with the workouts now. My soon to be one year old is walking and keeping me very busy!!
     
    I am scheduled for a fill on the 27th, fill number 4... I currently have 5.3cc in a 10 cc band. I hope this one pushes me closer into the "green" zone.
  2. If you read my "oh, December" entry YOu will notice that I am still 22 pounds down...... I gained 3 then lost three.. Woot?!?!?! GAH!!!
     
    UPDATE:::
     
     
    I was banded Nov 30th, 2011 @ 226. I lost 10 pounds two weeks pre-op, 10 pounds 2 weeks post-op. Now since Dec 20th I have only lost 3 pounds to bring me to 203...
     
    6X a week I run 3-5km
    1X a week I play volleyball
    2X a week I play soccer
     
    I am eating between 1300-1500 GOOD calories. No snacking, no junk, whole foods ie: eggs, chicken, fish, veggies, high fibres... etc...
     
    I am losing inches but the weight is not coming off at all. Should I just chalk this up to inches lost and the # will go down later? Am I not eating enough to sustain my work outs? Am I eating too much (I am hungry lots!!)
     
    I have only had 1 fill to bring me to 4cc (had 2.5cc at time of surgery).. IS this what they call the Bandster hell???
     
    Who has been here?? Who can help a girl out???
  3. 31 days post-op with the lap band - down 22 pounds... I only lost 2 pounds in the last two weeks. BUT the last two weeks involved many christmas and new years celebrations.... So I WIN! Hahaha, I am a-ok with pretty much no change as last year (or the year b4, or the year b4, etc, etc) I would have gained weight! Makes sense to me anyways....
     
    Now today is January 1st! A new month, a new year!! A big day for big changes!
     
    goals for 2012:
    1. Lose 60 pounds
    2. Be the best mommy I can be to my Jeremy (9 months)
    3. Schedule date nights and bonding time with the hubby
    4. Be active!!!!
    5. Complete a Duathlon in September (run-bike-run) I can't swim.....

  4. I am 16 days post-op and down 20 pounds!! Heck yeah! Well in the last few days I gained then lost 2 pounds and it felt like it took forever!! yeah, yeah, I hear you - we didn't put this weight on over night... lol. I think my issue was eyeballing 1/2 cup of food and not actually measuring... I fixed that issue now!! I eat 3 times a day, 1/2 a cup each meal and I am never hungry - but I could eat more if I let myself......
     
    I slipped and fell 1.5 weeks post-op and my port spot still hurts pretty bad. It doesn't feel dislodged, just like a pulled muscle so I am not too worried about it. Stupid ice!!
     
     
    I am hoping to lose 6 pounds by Jan 1st - That will put me at an even 200 for the start of 2012... 6 pounds over Christmas?!?! That is going to take some hard work!!!

    I am on day 3 of my pre pre-op diet and I am already down 2 pounds!! WOOT!!! I do not feel hungry at all, I am eating 2 (body by vi) shakes, a healthy dinner, and one snack under 200 calories. I am still having a glass of wine at night. ARG!! I love my one glass of wine at night!! It helps me relax, decompress, and figure out what I am going to do tomorrow. At least I have another 12 days before I start my real pre-op diet and I have time to cut it out... Brutal, I know... But I'd rather have a glass of wine than a bowl of ice cream, bag of chips, or whatever else is a popular night time snacking food...
     
     
    I am so excited for my surgery! I really hope that it does help me to lose weight. I so desperatly need to! Come on Nov 30th!!!
  6. So I went through with it! I am with the band!! I've wanted to say that for a while now. LOL. I am post-op day 3 ( I think, I was banded on the 30th and it is the evening of the 2nd now) I blame my confusion on the codine...
     
    I am really gassy, walking helps lots, and my port sight hurts. Other than being stoned I am doing pretty well. I have to sleep on my right side to be comfortable, but normally I am a left side sleeper so that is driving me nuts... Oh well... In a few days I should be back to normal right!?!?!
     
    Since the 30th I have only drank water, cranberry juice, one protien shake, and some chicken broth, I am not hungry but I am light headed. I think that is more from the drugs though... I think I am drinking water too fast, I get some mild pain when I swallow in my left side... Must Drink Slower!!
     
    How long did it take you to feel "normal" again?
     
    When did you get back to playing sports??
     
    When I can think clearly I will post again!!

  7. 5 Days To Go...

    5 days to go till I am banded. Woot! I am down 12 pounds since Nov 1st. I am currently on antibiotics for bronchitis. The cough is going away - slowly... I hope it is gone b4 I have stitches in my tummy. That could hurt!! My surgery is 2pm on the 30th.
     
    My parents are coming to watch my 7.5 month old so I get a 4 day break from him. I love him to bits, but who couldn't use a break after 7.5 months?? My husband and I have to fly to Vancouver, BC Canada for the surgery. I live in northern Alberta, Canada. We are staying at a hotel/casino - I figured that would be a good place for walking the gas out after surgery.
     
    I am doing really well on my pre-op diet. I am taking halls for my throat. and every other day I have a hard boild egg... I play a lot of sports and the extra protien cant hurt right?!?!!
     
    I am really excited about next Wednesday!!!!!

    9 Days till surgery and I am down 11 pounds since Nov 1st. I am so happy about this!! That is about 1/2 a pound a day!! Woot Woot!! I am getting a little sick of the shakes though. Do you think adding some instant coffee to a chocolate shake to make a mocha is a bad idea??
     
    We went to my husband's Christmas party on Saturday, I did well with eating (yes, I cheated) I had some turkey, house salad, and broccoli. And 3 glasses of red wine.... No one from his work knows what I am doing so I had to play "normal" for a night. The next morning I was up 3 pounds... Oops, but after a day of shakes and water I was down 4!! Woot Woot!!!
     
    I have a nasty cough that I hope will be gone b4 surgery or my belly is going to be hurting after surgery with the coughing... I am drinking hot water and lemon, tea, and tons of water to try and loosen up whatever is causing this horribleness.
     
    My goal for the next 9 days is another 5 pounds down. Wish me luck!!!!

  9. Well if you have been following my blog you will know that I have started a "pre" pre-op diet. Well I did great for a week and lost 4 pounds, then my husband's granny died... We had to go out of town to stay at my mother in laws place. She does not cook at all... I thought for sure I would gain every pound back and then some due to eating out 3 meals a day every freakin day for a week. Well I made the best choices I could and I lost another 3 pounds!!! WOOT!!! My husband asked her to buy some cereal, eggs, sandwich stuff, but nope... BAH!! She claims to be so healthy... BS if you ask me...
     
     
    Anywhoooo, I have 3 more days till my real pre-op diet starts. I am sad that I could of lost more weight, but due to the situation I am happy with where I am.
     
     
     
    Now to get my 7 month old to go to sleep on his own again.............. It never ends around here!!!
  10. I am required to do a 14 day pre-op diet. I have decided to do 29 days... My surgery is on November 30th, 2011 and I am to start a three shake a day + 250 calories of low glycemic veggies on Nov 15th. I have decided that I am going to do 14 days of the Body by Vi Challenge starting Nov 1st. 2 shakes a day + a "normal healthy dinner". Why you ask?? Cause I need to get my but in gear b4 it is too late!!! I need to get back to eating healthy, I need to start losing b4 I HAVE to due to the band. I do not want to gain 25 pounds in the next 2.5 weeks because I think I need to eat everything in sight b4 my surgery. I have 4 more days of free eating. I am currently having a glass of wine.... After the 1st I will not get to have a splendid glass of red wine in a LONG time! I love a glass of wine at the end of the day!! I think that is going to be the hardest thing through out this whole experience... Crazy right?!?!!?
     
     
    God I hope I don't EFF this up!!!!
  11. I have one month and 12 days till I am banded. I am really excited but still have some weird questions....
     
    1. Can I chug water afterwards?? I love water and love to chug a big glass of it when I am thirsty after playing sports...
     
    2. Will my pregnancy stretch marks go away when I lose weight, or atleast fade a lot?
     
    3. How will/should I react to the negative nancies when they ask me how I lost the weight??
     
    4. WIll I succeed? I friggen hope so!! I feel like a skinny person, play sports like a skinny person but I am not a skinny person... and that causes my knees and ankles to hurt LOTS!!
     
    5. If I lose weight and my port sticks out is there a surgery to fix that??
     
    6. What if I can not tollerate chicken breast? I live off chicken breast!!!! I have heard some people can not eat it anymore. I would seriously not know what to do, I eat it about 5 days a week!
     
    7. Once you lose the weight is maintaining easier than if I was to lose 75# now without the band?? Not that I have ever lost 75# or anything....
     
    8. After I put my son to bed at night I like to have a drink, one drink, to decompress will that be a problem?? I like red wine or capitain and diet coke. I haven't had a beer since July 31st, 2010 (the night I got pregnant :/) so beer wont be an issue. Can I have capitan, diet coke and water to cut out some fizz??
     
    9. I hear you are supposed to take a multi vitamin - which ones are easy to swallow with no issues??
     
    10. Will my 38-HH boobs shrink and become all saggy???
     
     
     
    Thanks for reading!! Any help/comments/concerns/facts/experiences are more than welcome!!! I am so excited to do this, but so scared to fail, I am also nervous that I missed some vital question that will haunt me later on... I am 225# and hoping to reach 145#... I haven't weighed that little since grade 7!!! I can't wait to tie my shoes without holding my breath. I can't wait to shop and find something that I love to wear. I can't wait to not be the biggest lady on my hockey, volleyball, ringette, soccer, running team!!! I really want to run a 1/2 marathon in VEGAS!! I want to compete in duathlons ( I can't swim...) But most of all I can't wait to chase after my son, coach him in sports, and live to see him graduate, get married, and have children!!!

    My mother in law is here for a total of 9 days. 4 days down, 5 to go. We have not told her about my WLS plans as she is very judgemental... Anyways she is so negative!! My 6 month old is bored playing on the floor with toys even though he is giggling and playing, he is hungry cause I haven't started him on solids yet, he is pooping every time he makes a weird face, the three songs on his jumperoo are driving her nuts... I could go on...
     
    Today I made thanksgiving dinner (I am Canadian) My husbands 1st day off work was today so it just worked for us. She "helped" by peeling carrots. I told her 3 times that the garberator is broken and not to put anything down the drain. What does she do??? Stuff everything down the drain and plug it off solid. Now my husband has all the pipes torn apart and he is not a plumber... What a Facking mess!!! But really what do I know, I have only lived in this house for 4 years now... I need to wash bottles and make baby food (we are starting him on sweet potatoes tomorrow) but I can't - there is no running water!! Double Fack!!!
     
     
    My husband does not see it cause she is his mother and can do no wrong... BLAH!! Why are in-laws so freaking crazy??

  13. 53 days till my surgery and I am going nuts with food!! Why am I such an idiot?? Like today. I went to the grocery store and bought 4 days of healthy dinner stuff, Chicken, steaks, Turkey breast, veggies, etc. Then I went to the A&W drive through and ordered a Teen Burger... WHY?? I haven't eaten at A&W for over 2 years!! But I felt I needed it cause I prob wont be able to eat it in a month.. BAH!!
     
     
    I feel like crap now cause it wasn't that good, but can someone help me figure out what the eff is my problem??
  14. Till I am banded... I paid the $1000.00 deposit, filled out all the forms and talked to my GP about getting the lap band today. She said since she knows about my constant gain, lose, gain, lose over the last 5-7 years she is supportive of me getting the lap band. That was a huge relief!! I though for sure she would tell me to try and diet again... WooHoo! Another person to add to my support circle!!
     
     
    I am practicing chewing lots, eating slowly, only eating if I am hungry, and eating smaller portions more often. I also am working out like crazy. In the last 4 days I have played 3.5 hours of volleyball and ran 5 km. Woot!!!! I would do more but I have a 6 month old that requires a lot of attention!!! I love him to bits!! I can't wait to be healthier and chase him around the back yard when he starts to walk.
     
     
     
    I am scared and nervous for the surgery because there will be no turning back AND what if I fail??!?!?! I don't want to fork out $17,000 to fail!!! But I have hope that controlling my portion sizes with this tool will help me lose the 70 pounds I need to to be healthy! I do eat healthy - just to much food at each sitting!! mmmmmm baked chicken boobs!!!
     
     
     
    Everything seems to be falling into place - now I have to book my flights!!!
  15. I am scheduled as a self pay for November 30th, 2011. I am 225 pounds - give or take... I am so excited to start my banded journey. I have started listening to my tummy to tell me when I am satisfied. I am breaking a sweat 2-3 times a week. I am eating my protien first. These are the things I am going to do over the next 2 months in preperation for my post-op success.. I need to work on my glass or two of wine at the end of a long day... but that will come with time I guess.
     
     
    I am preping my husband to help him understand how much I will be able to eat once I hit my "sweet spot". He is 185#, 5'11'' and in great shape. He is so sexy... IMO... I am discusting, IMO, but he thinks I am the sexiest woman alive... WTF!?!?!? Has he looked at me lately?? The picture of me on this website is of me two years ago at 170#, yeah I can lose the weight but then I just gain it back + more... Frig! I need this tool to help me keep it off!! Once I work up the courage I will post pre-op pictures of me at 225. Then my goal is to post pictures once a month to keep me on track..

    Yesterday I got fill #4. Went from 5.3cc to 5.7cc. This morning I had 3/4 an egg and 1.5 pieces of turkey bacon. STUFFED! I hope I am in the green zone now!
