  1. I'm still in the process of learning how to work with the band. As of today I've lost 28lbs since surgery. I only have one adjustment but I think I'm ready for a second, but it's a 5 hours drive to go and see my doctor, but now I'm doing zumba 3 to 4 times a week. And next Monday I have an apptment with a trainer.
  2. Both my husband and I got banded this year, so next summer we would like to go to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
  3. Wow!!! You look wonderful. You are an inspiration, i have been banded for 2 months as of today.
  4. Find something that you will enjoy. I always hated working out, but since I started going to the zumba classes in my gym I actually look forward to them. I take 3 to 4 classes a week.

  7. My husband had surgery with Dr Corvala on April 1st 2011 and we were very please with him, his team of doctors and the hospital itself. The hospital is very, very clean. The anesthesiologist was wonderful. I was so please with everything that I had my surgery done also by Dr Corvala on 8/1911. If you have any questions you can e-mail me at lauralunad@yahoo.com
  8. Sorry, I'm in the same boat, I got banded on 8/19 and had my first fill 9/24 and since my fill I have only lost 5 lbs. But I'm down from a size 20 pants to a size 16 jeans. I record and watch what I eat and I do zumba 4 days a week, so hopefully the scale will show some results soon.
  9. I'm in the same boat, I g
  10. I had both procedures done at the same time on 8/19/11 and I can honestly say that it wasn't bad at all, for pain meds after surgery I was only on Tylenol. Just make sure they give you an antibiotic before and after surgery to prevent an infection to the band. (mine was given thought the IV)
  11. Zumba !!! You can buen up to 600 calories in one hour.
  12. I was thinking of buying it too. I really like the zumba classes at my gym, but I was thinking of getting it for the days that I just can't make it to the gym.
  13. I got my first fill last Friday, I had 1.6cc put in, and the doctors orders were that I had to be 3 days in clear liquids, 3 days in soft food, and the resume normal food.
  14. I was banded 8/19, and had my first fil last friday 9/24. I had 1.6 cc put in, i had no numbing medicine, so basically was just one pock and that was it, my doctor does the fills with flouroscopy, so you can actually see it for your self how fast or slow the liquid is going in. Its actually pretty cool. The whole process didn't take more then 10 min.
  15. I had my surgery Aug. 19, and just this last Friday 9/24 had my first fill, 1.6cc is what I had put in, and that was enough to notice a difference, so far I'm down 23lbs.
  16. Wow !!!! Congratulations, I got banded the same day 8/19, but just today I hit the 20lbs, I started at 248, hoping to get to my goal wt of 160. I'm getting my first fill tomorrow 9/23,
  17. I can tell you that I know how you feel, I'm officially 20lbs down today too. I had my surgery on Aug. 19, I started with 248 and today the scale hit the 228!!!!!! I'm having my first fill tomorrow, and I'm hoping I can get the ok to start working out.
  18. I had surgery Aug 19 and I had the nausea and the dizziness for about 5 days, and to make things worse I had to fly back home on day 3, so as you can imagine that was the worst plane ride.
