I'm Ashley from Georgia and I'm considering going to Mexico to have Lap-Band surgery.

The doctors here say my BMI is not high enough and that my insurance will not cover it.

I am currently looking for information on Dr. Almanza from Mt. Zion Medical OR Dr. Corvala from Angeles Health International.

If anyone has scheduled an appointment with them please contact me and let me know your thoughts.

My Mom had the surgery here in April and she has lost 71lbs and looks great.

My husband had surgery with Dr Corvala on April 1st 2011 and we were very please with him, his team of doctors and the hospital itself. The hospital is very, very clean. Hi. I am not sure what your BMI is, but mine is 32.6 and I will be having my surgery in Atlanta, Ga. FDA has approved lap band for BMI of 30 or more. Your insurance will only pay if your BMI is 35 or more. I will be self pay.
