  1. I HAVE DAYS WHEN NOTHING GOES DOWN WELL. LIKE YOU I HAVE A PROTEIN SHAKE AND MOVE ON. WHEN I TALKED TO MY DOC ABOUT IT; HE SAID NOT TAKING IN ENOUGH FLUID THE DAY BEFORE. WHO KNOWS ..
  2. Go to your profile, click on tickers, and create it. FYI; I have had problems with the link today, lost my ticker and can't edit old one.
  3. Each person is different; I can eat a couple bites of crust and meat and veg toppings....Caution..with melted cheese...2 bites of it and I'm done. I like the chicken ElFredo with parm cheese.... THIN crust
  4. 11/30/11...down 93....5 fills ... then had to pull out some. EACH PERSON IS DIFFERENT AS IS YOUR SURGEON. SOME SURGEONS ADD SOLUTION/FILL AT THE TIME OF SURGERY. I have a little less than 5cc in a 10cc band. Last fill was in April and 3 weeks later had some taken out. Takes less than 2 minutes for doc to pick up syringe and fill to be done. NO Pain.
  5. 93 pounds down, other than random stucks and slimes.......my life is so good. It is what is...A TOOL...you got to know how to use it to make it work. Good Luck
  6. Oregon Chai makes a sugar free Chia mix that is to die for. Mix with Skim milk and vanilla protein powder; the best shake I have had to date.
  7. I buy Okois, love all of them; you cab blend up some fresh berries and add to the plain.....yummy.
  8. band adjustment/fill and doc appt. $250 is the charge; I pay $112, not covered by ins.
  9. WELCOME TO THE SITE; MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL ONLY PAY IF YOU USE A SURGEON THAT IS AFFILIATED WITH A CENTER OF EXCELLENCE. BE CAUTIOUS IN YOUR CHOICE...TALK TO PEOPLE IN YOUR AREA. GOOD LUCK....
  10. I just hate to hear about anyone having pain after the band. I went home 4 hours after surgery.......with only liquid Tylenol 3. Keep moving...I was able to have tomato soup on my liquid..also yogurt...so life was ok. Absolutely get that PROTEIN down.....gives you energy and will keep your hair from falling out. Take it one day at a time...you are fighting the addiction to food that we all have or had... GOOD LUCK...
  11. We are proud of each other; he was banded 11/29/11 and I was on the 30th. MEN...he has lost 112 pounds. We will be enjoying our Golden Years...Fat Free. I am in a slump right now..losing about a pound a week. In between clothes size and lovin it. Thanks ladies......
  12. GOOD FOR YOU GIRL..THE FIRST MONTHS ARE THE TOUGHEST...ONCE YOU START YOUR FILLS AND KNOW WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN'T EAT LIFE WILL EVEN OUT.MAKE SURE YOU GET THE PROTEIN YOU NEED EACH DAY.......YOU WILL BE SO TIRED OF PROTEIN SHAKES BUT THEY WILL KEEP YOU GOING. HANG IN THERE AND GOOD LUCK.
  13. TAKE THE SUPPLEMENTS........YOU MAY NEED TO CONTINUE AFTER SURGERY, I STILL DO IRON SUPPLEMENTS. GOOD LUCK.......
  14. AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE; I RIDE MY OWN HARLEY...THAT BEING SAID. SINCE LOSING 90 POUNDS I HAVE BEGUN RIDING WITH MY HUSBAND ON HIS BIKE. WE WERE SETTING A THE HARLEY DEALERSHIP THIS WEEKEND; BEAR WAS OVER TALKING WITHSOME FRIENDS. I OVERHEARD SOME FELLOW RIDERS TALKING ABOUT "BEAR'S NEW OLE LADY" I ABOUT PEED MY PANTS I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD. AS I WALKED BY THEM I MADE SURE TO SAY HELLO; THEY STILL DID NOT FIGURE IT OUT. LOVING MY NEW LIFE..........
  15. I have noticed this also. I follow my doc's orders as best as I can.
  16. My goal was/is to RIDE my Harley to Sturgis....No trailer....I could do it in August; but my husband had a total knee replacement...so not going to the rally this year. My reward a new pair of chaps...tight; sexy, and very expensive.
  17. You are the same as before surgery....until you have some fills and get to YOUR restriction point. Stick to it and do watch what you are eating. My doc's fills....take around 1 minute. I had to stand at first..now I lay down. He manipulates your tummy to find the port. Bing Bang Boom...your done....no pain.....later down the road you could get an over fill.....not pleasent...but fixable. Good Luck....
  18. I love the Unjury...chocolate and vanilla. My husband still prefers Muscle Milk and can get 72 grams of protein in 1 shake. Higher in calories,,,but has worked well for him.
  19. Salmon fresh or in the water pack.. I mix the package with cottage cheese and some fat free Ranch dressing. I am lucky; I can eat small amounts of chops and steak. I love Greek yogurt too much. I have a problem with cheese so don't eat much of that. When in doubt Muscle Milk shake. Make sure you get enough daily protein...I have for the start...have not lost any hair, nails are still good, and I do think I have found a muscle or too as the fat has gone.
  20. Started at a 24...wearing a 14 now, however my male cousin commented about my sagging ass pants yesterday. I think I will stick with 14's until fall and buy new then. Hope to have hit my goal weight by my year anniversary on 11/30. My husband started in a 48 jeans, and bought him 36 in June. I still have a weight goal..set by my doc.....so we will see how it goes.
  21. I want to remind everyone that it is important to have your personal physician monitor your medications as you travel this new journey. On 7/11 my husband passed out and fell hitting his head. After a trip to the ER; we learned that he was dehydrated severely. The problem was he was till taking the dosage of BP med and Fluid med were fine when he weighed 325.....but now at 221....the meds were TOO much. Medication readjusted; and a new family doctor has been choose. Yep; my honey has lost 104 since 11/29/11. So very proud of him. ME ? Well I'm still puttin along..slow but steady...88 pounds since 11/30/12. Please stay on top of this issue. We have all worked so hard to be in better health, don't let a situation like this TAKE YOU OUT.
  22. It's all about attitude .... and you have a good one. Follow doctor's order's to the letter, and if you have concerns call the doctor's office.....that's why you paid him $$$$$$$$$$$. Good Luck
  23. You are early on in the game. My savior was coffee...doc said it was ok if I used fat free cream...I drank it hot and iced. Now I drink lots of water and ice tea. I had 5 fills before I had restriction, then that #5 was an overfill and I thought I was going to die. Hang in there; You Can Do It.
  24. I had my total knee at 270 pounds, it was a struggle to recover. My husband just had total knee and thanks to the Lapband on 11-29-11, his recovery is amazing. As I have lost weight 75 pounds my knee is working better than ever and my other knee will remain until later. I would check with a PT and see what they suggest for rehabbing a knee when you are obese. My rehab at 270 is far different from my husband who now weighs 220. Wishing you the best.
  25. Get to your dentist, I had to get new dentures as I was unable to chew meats and was living on hard boiled eggs and tuna. Someone once posted: Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. Stay positive; you can do this.
