Lactose intolerant?

Has anyone ever become lactose intolerant after the band? I'm 4.5 weeks post op now and the past couple weeks I seem to vomit up anything with a trace of dairy in it. I've never been sensitive to it before.

I am 5 days post op and have been having very bad reactions to dairy as well. It is causing very bad gas.

I think this is so strange cause I was fine before surgery...

I was lactose intolerant even before I had my band. I drink Lactaid brand skim milk, and discovered I have no problem with Greek yogurt. Things may return back to normal for you in a few months. For example -- I had always loved spicy foods but they KILLED my stomach those first few months post op. I can now eat spicy food with no issue.

Try using almond milk, unsweetened instead of regular milk products. Helped me a bunch and is very low calorie.

I had severe stomach problems after my band due to the strong meds. The antibiotic in particular. A call to my PA helped, he took me off meds as soon as he could.

I has big problems the first couple of months. However by month 6, I could drink milk and or any dairy products. Hope it gets better.
