  1. Congratulations! Now the rest is up to you and how you help your band!
  2. Just follow the pre-op and leave the rest to your surgeon.
  3. Yep, no problem, but not well done and a very tender cut. No Flank steak!
  4. I agree with Maddysgram... I can handle just about anything. If the font is too small for my bifocals... well, I just don't respond. Or maybe that's what they wanted? Anyhow. To each his own.
  5. I feel no need to sell the band to anyone but myself. For me, it was the right decision. I wanted a new lifestyle and a tool to help keep me on track. That's that the band is to me. What it does for anyone else is up to them.
  6. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  7. Keep up the routine. The weight loss will come!
  8. Only one that all of us have now! Gas-X and beano are your friends!
  9. All of this lasts a short time in the greater scheme of things. Hang in there... the end results are worth it!
  10. I usually take about 15 minutes, but I go slow intentionally to keep from rushing the rest of my meals. I use the slow speed for liquid or solid.
  11. Especially for your height, I am sure you qualify for surgery. But, please, be sure that you do what is right for you. Your friends don't live in your body, you do, and only you know how that feels. I don't think any reputable surgeon would operate on you just to make money. It is pretty normal to be having pre-surgery jitters, and yes a see a lot of women on the forum in your height range getting surgery at your weight. Keep in mind, my ticker says 256, but I am 5'9" tall. Take a 9 inch slice through the middle of your body and guess what it might weigh. That is why surgery is based on BMI. Your starting point is about where I was there. In short... it is your life and you have to do what is right for you. Your friends and family may be concerned about you. Take them to a seminar or pre-surgery meeting to learn the facts about the band. Many do not truly understand it.
  12. You are drinking protein I hope. If not... add a protein shake.
  13. Congratulations and come back often. Happy Birthday!
  14. No comment. If you WANT to lose weight you will. If you want to test the band, you may cause yourself harm. Decide which is more important to you and get on with it. I feel that perhaps you need to go back to your surgeon for a review on the process and eating with the band. At the very least talk to the nutritionist. Your behavior could be dangerous not only to your health but to that of other new banders who try to follow in your footsteps. I wish you success.
  15. Great news... mine is about back to normal as well! There is hair after lap band surgery! Thanks for sharing the up side!
  16. I like to hear different perspectives and solutions to problems we all have our will have in the future. I also like best working with newbies to get them off to positive start.!
  17. What a wonderful success story. You should be proud. Happy Bandiversary tomorrow!
  18. Well.... I don't forget it for long, but I have done it. I guess it takes a lot of years to erase the ones it took me to get obese in the beginning.
  19. Welcome to the journey. Come back often to share experiences. We'll be waiting!
  20. Great story... thanks for sharing. Sorry about the stuck though!
  21. Good for you!
  22. I hope it makes for a memorable holiday for you. I was banded on Halloween 2011!
