  5. Wow! Congratulations! This is best thing I ever did for myself. Come back often and keep posting. The folks here are very supportive and knowledgeable. Just remember, follow your surgeons advice first and foremost. Use the time pre-surgery to learn all you can, sample protein powders and clean out the house of all trigger foods. I wish you every success!
  6. I can eat whatever I want, in small quantities. My biggest problem is lettuce. I can eat all the rest of the salad stuff though. Believe me, if you ask them they will serve your favorite salad without lettuce!

We will be with you!

  12. Give it time and stick to your portions. You should be on liquids only after a fill, and sometime you can get delayed swelling. It is hard I know, but hang in there.
  13. Plan ahead and use protein bars where possible. Try for breakfast meetings, eggs work well. At restaurants go for appetizers, they are smaller servings. Ask for take out boxes up front, and place all but your allocate portion in the box before you start eating. Do you plan to tell people you are banded? It might make it easier for them to understand.
  14. I use the low carb tortillas and unless i try to eat them plain, they work out fine with filling if I chew well. Crisp corn tortillas if your must, but chew well. Best would be to wean yourself from them, but I highly recommend the low or carb control versions. I am assuming here that you are on solid foods.
  15. Don't miss that doctor's appointment. Try sucking on breath mints to help the taste in your mouth. Good luck tomorrow!
  16. Use a moisturizer and drink lots of liquids.

Learn all you can up front about how to deal with certain things, test drive protein shakes, plan ahead when you travel, and last but not least follow your doctors orders. ALWAYS! Pre-Op, Post-Op, Post Fills, etcetera. Do it for yourself and no one else, and WANT it more than you have ever wanted anything! Best Wishes!
