Liquid diet

Hello.

Today i'm 4days post op and the day i was allowed to move to the liquid diet (i think this is how is called- my dr calls stage 3 diet). Which consists in yogurt, blended/strained Soups, juice, milk, cottage cheese, cream of wheat/rice.

So, my question is, could i cook some Soup at home? I had some condensed creamy chicken soup for lunch today (diluted with milk), and even if tasted delicious, im not happy as being canned, packed of sodium and chemicals..

I was wondering if i make my own chicken soup with veggies (or veggie soup) ican throw that in the blender and be the same as canned. (Plus the benefices of the veggies helping with my constipation?)

Thanks for reading ;)

That's an excellent idea and yes! Your blender will be your best friend during this phase lol. You could blend in a little ricotta or cottage cheese, too. It will give it more Protein and flavor.

Yup, I cooked a big batch before I was banded and froze it so I wouldn't have to rely on canned (Which I hate).

Yes... absolutely., Sounds yummy!

I went to BJ's to buy the ingredients, but got super tired and changed my mind hahaha

So, i found this panera bread "tuscan style chicken soup" which has 2.5g fat, 12g carb, 3 Fiber, 13g Protein. For 1 cup..

Is that bad?
