  1. Thunderous applause! Good for you AJ!
  2. Do whatever Maddysgram says and you can't go wrong!
  3. We can only take care of ourselves. If you eat healthy that is best you can do for your daughter.
  4. same rules as for a fill, changing the band can cause irritation.
  5. Just say no to carbonation. It can cause band erosion.
  6. 17 pounds in a couple of weeks is wonderful. Don't count on fills to lose the weight.... you have to eat the right foods, in the right amounts, and chew, chew chew. I did not get a fill until I was 6 weeks out, only had 4 total in 13 months. You will be fine! Look at the positives and don't be a slave to the scales!
  7. The worst is over! Truly. The gas pain is no fun, but a heating pad may help, Gas-X strips, walking, peppermint tea. Congrats on being a Band Insider!
  8. Sounds like a little bruising and normal healing. The port area is the last to heal up.
  9. 11 pounds is 11 less than you started with. Good luck with your surgery!
  10. Banded and happy! All bypass patients talk down the band! Come and chat with us! We've truly been there and done that!
  11. Great ending to the story!
  12. For the last time dammit... NO SODA!!!!
  13. Congrats... may need to take it easy the first day, or call in with the flu. I think you will be fine, just tired easy, so go right home and rest!
  14. And... no more milky ways!
  15. Lots of talk! They may have you meet with other support staff, nutritionists, psychologist, etc. Ask if they have seminars to attend. They give you a chance to ask more questions. Ask the doc whether you will have low profile port and which band he uses. Otherwise, take notes, collect questions and come back here if you need more answers!
  16. You may have more luck with the powders that come in lots of flavors. I like Unjury... a bit expensive, but worth it. Also Nashua Nutrition on line will sell you sample packets to try before you buy big containers. GNC will take returns, and my all time fave is peanut butter cookie flavor. The powder will be less expensive over the long haul. Also, I mix mine with unsweetened Almond Milk (Silk) either the plain or vanilla are good, and very low in calories and carbohydrates.
  17. Good work all! One day at a time.
  18. Try Almond milk, unsweetened! Very low carbs and calories, same texture as skim milk.
  19. Gurgling only, no clicking!
  20. Happy to have you on the inside of the band!
  21. Feel better soon. Try flat ginger ale!
  22. welcome to the bandsters! Drink, sip, and walk!! REPEAT!
