  2. My surgery was on a Wednesday and I was back to work that Monday. I too have a desk job, but walking to the printer down the hall was helpful.
  3. Each Doctor is different, I could eat till about 2 hrs before fill and then liquids the rest of the day. I had this done yesterday and am on regular food, doing good. Definitely feel the restriction just like right after surgery.
  4. I had my first fill yesterday. For dinner (which was about 2 hrs after fill) I drank my Protein drink and could only finish half of it. This morning I had 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and after the second bite could really feel the restriction. I never could finish a meal in the 20 min I should....until today.
  5. You will here this over and over so I'm sorry to repeat it...WALK...i had a couple bad episodes and I just walked...walk your ass off. It will go away, for me it was day 7 that I finally was more comfortable.
  6. I had that feeling but only the first week it was like an alien in there just moving around. Everytime I would move from side to side, mainly when trying to sleep. I've never been pregnant but I would say that might be what it feels like lol. Good luck to you
  7. Its so you do not dilute your food and are able to eat more then you should be. It was near impossible before the band. As soon as I was banded it is not normal to me. I just dont bring a drink with me when I eat dinner or I dont ask for one at a restaurant.
  8. I get this sometimes, I chalk it up to I just ate to much. I'm still learning to eat slower...I've done that a couple times and get full before my cup of food is up. If i eat faster I get the shoulder/neck pain.
  9. I had the same thing happen to me...I drank MAYBE 8 oz in a day for 2 days straight. I got worried so I forced myself to drink more but it goes away and you get an apetite again. My first mushie was cream of wheat and I tell you it was heaven. Good luck!
  10. I too am 3 weeks post op today...the first probably 1 1/2 weeks I felt full fast. Now I can definitely eat more then a cup if I tried. Last night I had a stuck episode and was so pissed at myself because it was my fault. I got cocky and didnt chew like I needed to. Got my head back in the game today and will never trail off the road again. My port sticks out a little...definitely can feel it, skin is itchy today and port site is sore. Being over 300lbs i never thought I'd see my port, especially at this time...maybe just still swollen. First fill is next Tuesday looking forward to exercising more soon just so I can feel better about my journey. Good luck!
  11. Thank you b-52...I know my body went through a lot, just wanted to ease my mind.
  12. I'm 2 days post op...gas pains where bad yesterday but not to bad today. The thing that hurts the most is when I take a deep breath...its sorta like something is pressing on my chest is this normal?
  13. ditto from above, I received my date about a month before I was approved.
  14. As you know everyone loses differently so I can only tell you my experience so far. Today is my 8th day on the pre-op diet with 4 more to go before my surgery on the 15th. To date (starting Feb. 3) I have lost 12lbs. I'm not going to lie it has been tough. I have 6 people in my house I cook for and having to do that while I sip my Protein shake is without hesitation a struggle. HOWEVER, I have fought through it, and with great support form friends and family and daily readings from this forum I'm still in it! I write a journal online through google and it helps. Writing what im eating, what I'm feeling is not only helpful for me now but in the future. Below you'll see a link if you feel like reading a bunch of rants lol GOOD LUCK!!!!
  15. I am on a liquid diet, however, I can have 4oz of meat and 1/2 cup of veggies. I usually eat backed chicken and carrots. Seeing that your only going to do it once and its something that is a protein and veggie I wouldn't think that would harm you. If you had stated you wanted Burger King then my response of course would be different. Good luck!
  16. I 100% can relate. I literally minutes ago told my husband my emotions are everywhere. I'm on day 3 and have a headache and slight nausea the whole time. I cant believe food had that big of hold on me...now its just pissed and doing what it can to make me shove food in. We can do this!!! We have to push through it, we are in it till the end. Good luck!
  17. I started the pre op diet today...I never really ate breakfast or lunch so I'm good so far. Had my protein shake this morning (it was YUM) and sipping on Propel water. Now when I get home it will be a different story cause that's when I went to TOWN eating. I bought chicken breast and carrots. I'm allowed one protein that is 4oz and 1/2 cup of veggies. I'm doing this....pain or no pain damn it!
  18. January 26th was my last PCP visit for the required 6 months insurance requirement. Thank goodness! Now to get the ball truly rolling. I have to admit it all has been pretty smooth so far, paperwork/detail wise. However, as soon as I think Im in the clear and on my way my PCP office wants to be difficult. A little vent if I may. I am not sure why they do not understand what surgery means. I need the paperwork faxed to my surgeons office so it can be sent to the insurance company. They sorta have to approve it BEFORE my surgery date which was already set. Now, if it was sent on time and something happen with the insurance company fine we will have to reschedule. But you are telling me it will take you 2 weeks to fax some paperwork?!? I love love love Wendy from my surgeons office she has been unbelievably wonderful through this whole process. I can call her for what I think is the stupidest thing but she assures me it isnt and answers the questions with ease. We are both motivated to bug the hell out of my PCP office so they will fax my paperwork at a more appropriate time frame. I in no way mean to bash doctor office staff as I have been a filer, paperwork handler, appointment maker for the last 10 years and know how it works. However, there is no way I would put off a fax, knowing the importance, for that amount of time. Anywho.....Onward we go. February 15th is the surgery date, hopefully it stays that way, and I am so very excited. My pre op diet starts next Wednesday so this weekend I am going to go and get all the liquid based "food " I will need for the next couple of weeks.
  19. Tentative date of February 15th!
  20. I know exactly what your going through. My husband was gun-ho about the seminar. He went, listened, had questions. Then about a month into making the decision he started wearing a tummy pusher I asked why and he got very defensive so i left it alone. Then he bought a guitar out of the blue, when I asked him about that he also got defensive. One day I just sat him down and pretty much made him tell me what is going on. He broke down telling me that I'm going to change, not only physically but mentally. He said that I was going to leave him. It took me a good 4 months of almost everyday talking with him. Now he is fine with the idea. He even has said he would cut out soda because I wont be able to drink it. You just have to give him time and let him react. Good luck and congrats on the band-day!
  21. Thank you so much for your comments. He recently purchased one of those black strap things that go around your waist that make you sweat....he said he wanted to start losing weight too. He's gone with me to all my PCP visits and I would like him, if possible, to attend my surgeons program with me so he is IN this process with me fully. I think we'll be ok, it'll just take a lot of patience and comforting on my part, and trust and effort on his.
  22. THANK YOU CHERI!!!! That is some great advice! I love the idea of him being my coach and I actually brought up him coming with me to some type of support group for band patients. I also really like the idea of asking my surgeon about having another married couple tell us their story. I will write that down on my "what to ask" list when I meet with him in December. Btw, I have told him that when I start to have more comfortable "flexibility", the bedroom's gonna be crazy, cause obviously I'm not able to be "adventurous" as we like and so I'm SURE he'll love that "change" lol (random fact, I apparently like quotations lol) We have been talking a lot, after work yesterday, last night, and the ride to work this morning. I think he's feeling a little better. I think reassuring him and making sure he understands why Im doing this and what the overall outcome can look like helps him. Thanks again!
  23. Thank you for the book suggestion I will look into this.
  24. Hi there, I'm wouldn't say I'm that young, however, everyone is entitled to their opinion lol. I have a lot of experience under my belt for my age. My husband is 7 years older then me and an already emotional person so I've learned through the years how to approach him. I honestly think he'll be ok. But as you said reassuring him is the key I believe. Regarding the psych evaluation, I've already done that as it is required by my insurance, however, counseling is always an option. Thanks!
  25. Thank you, I have talked about all the positive things that will happen afterwards. We can bike ride, I have a bike and can not ride it whatsoever. I told him about how we can just go ride to the park or go to a nice restaurant without fear that I might be uncomfortable sitting at the table. Im sure he'll be ok, its just a little depressing that I'm making this decision and its hurting him. But, reassuring him everyday has been my goal since I found out....it can only get better.
