  1. I said "Hey I'm having the lapband" and everyone I told either asked what it was if they didn't know or said "Hey cool"
  2. I don't think there was anyone at my job that didn't know about it ha ha.
  3. Just a little update, everything is going fine today!
  4. My doctor didn't require much time before going to regular food so I have been off mush since like March 7th but today was the first day it has happened. I see him on Friday for a fill so I will have to remember to ask him. Thanks!
  5. Like honestly... I would have normally gone to bed about an hour and a half ago because I have college in the morning but I'm afraid to go to bed because I can barely control my bowels.
  6. Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing good. I had surgery on Feb. 20th and I've lost 20 pounds since they so I'm feeling pretty good. I have my first fill this Friday but I have a question in the event that someone else has experienced this... I am eating fine and I'm on a "regular" diet (off of mushies, onto "regular" food, etc). I have been following the "rules" and all that good stuff, but for the past three days I have been having a bowel issue. It is usually after I eat and it lasts for about 3-4 hours, sometimes more if it's dinner. As I sit here (11:22pm) I am having this issue. I ate dinner at about 8:30pm so it's been almost 3 hours. All the way from my stomach to my butt I hear this weird gurgling sound. It sort of sounds like a hungry sound, but I am in no way hungry. It is LOUD! Like... as loud as hell. It is followed by me often needing to take a trip to the bathroom, which results in a bowel movement (3-5 of them in this 3-4 hour period). And it's not normal. It's pretty much just... Water with a little bit of "solid" to it. Ugh, sorry to make you all read this, but I really wonder what is up? Anybody? Thanks!
  7. No offense, but how can you not be happy with 100 pounds in a year? Would you still have that extra 100 pounds if it wasn't for the band, because it sounds like you weren't doing much for yourself if you needed to lose 150 pounds. Either that or you thought it was going to be an easy fix and went into with insane expectations.
  8. Oh my gosh, thanks everyone. I was seriously worried about it, but I am so done with soda now. Thanks!
  9. I am on vacation this week and I have had about 5 or 6 pepsi's in the last week. I had my surgery on feb 20th. I had a moment of weakness because I had gone so long without soda. But I am done not to touch another soda. Have I messed up my lapband? Would I notice if I had messed up my pouch? What are the chances that I have messed up my pouch?
  10. I wouldn't be so much worried about your port being flipped, but about if the band is leaking or it slipped (common when someone vomits a lot). You really should see your doctor as soon as possible.
  11. Nope, I am only a week and a half banded and no fill. Thanks for sharing everyone! : )
  12. Wow, I totally forgot I had even made this thread. Well, my insurance did cover it (all but my 500 dollar deductible) and here I am almost 2 weeks post op and feeling great, down 13 pounds!
  13. It's weird to think that just 3 weeks ago I was still on pre op! I am a week and 2 days post op. I went for my appointment yesterday and I have lost ten pounds since my surgery so I'm pretty happy about that and I'm pretty much pain free at this point! So glad I did it!

  15. Wow, what a great accomplishment! Congrats!
  16. My doctor said that most people get a "full" signal, other than the actual feeling of being full. I do get that, but I have found that when I am full I also hiccup for about two minutes. It's weird! What about you guys?
  17. Well if you are too young at 24 than I am way to young at 19! I was banded on Monday and I feel great! No worries! : )
  18. Glad I'm not the only one! Thanks guys!
  19. I had my surgery on 2/20 and today I noticed that there is a bruise by each incision that was not there yesterday. Anyone else? Thoughts?
  20. Awesome, thanks! I got prescription pain meds so hopefully those will start helping soon!
  21. I only just had surgery monday, but I was just wondering how long you guys had pain at your incisions and port site?
