6 Month Supervised Dieters
@Chimera: You really make me wonder if I have sleep apnea and just haven't been tested for it. I wake up throughout the night multiple times a night without a reason and what I wouldn't give for continuous sleep. Can you recommend the book she gave you? I would love to have a read through it. @Shea: Aw, I am so sorry, but I totally do understand how hard the process of changing your eating habits can be. I was a one meal a day kind of gal. I always forgot Breakfast, worked through lunch, and dinner was whatever I could eat in large quantities. Eating mutiple times a day and low carbing it was like some kind of torture exercise. Hey, another September! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. You know I will keep you posted. We gotta have each others backs on here. @Smoky: W00t! I will keep my fingers crossed for you too, September is going to be the month! Lol, starting a healthier lifestyle off on the right foot. Plus, it will give us a chance to impress that upon the family right away, but.... It is not going to be fun. That's for sure. I know the feeling extremely well with the exercise. I am not keeping up with my couch to 5k program very well.... my feet hurt, my ankles swell, and I always feel really tired. Saddest part? I am only 21. I do love the Kinect and dancing is one thing I can do without even thinking about it and the Kinect has some really great games for that if you enjoy dancing like Dance Central or Zumba.

The BOD POD
I don't know if I would trust this thing. It says I have a 27.5% body fat percentage also, and I know I put my measurements in correctly. Just my .02 cents.

I so excited I just can't hide it!!
Wow, I am definitely hoping for that kind of speed. Congrats!

HELP...Would you re-schedule?
Ew, that's a toughy. I guess for me, it would depend if my sister wanted me there or not. We are very close. If she said she needed me, I would be there and push back my surgery. If she didn't care, then I would push right on ahead and get sleeved.

lab result came back bad
H. pylori is the bacterium that causes stomach ulcers. It is a really good thing they are taking care of this issue now.

6 Month Supervised Dieters
Oh, wow, that is awesome! I know what you mean about everyone seeming to have a 3 month or less PSWL. I always feel like I going the longest route, but I do think it has been sort of invaluable to me for learning more about why I want THIS particular surgery, how I can work it to its utmost potential, and finding support before and after surgery. Also, 11 lbs is nothing to scoff at, a loss is a loss and 5 months in I've only lost 15 lbs. Thanks, good luck to you too!

will ins cover?
I second Nancy's suggestion. Call your insurance, some only use the first weigh in to determine coverage. Others use just the last. Every policy is different. It is better to call and find out then lose out on six months worth of work because you didn't.

One year out!
Wow, what an amazing journey. Hope you continue to have great success!

My story... thus far a 19 month journey that's just beginning!
Welcome Sarah! I am so amazed and inspired by your weight loss. You have done such an amazing job. I hope to lose 30 lbs by the end of my 6 month weight loss, and I will be so happy if I do. You can totally get through the 6 months no problem. I am 5 months in, and it is really starting to go quickly now. I hope you can learn a lot from the people here on the forum and get all your questions answered. Good luck!

Labor Day - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
I know I am not sleeved yet, but I do have a goal for Labor Day which is three days after my surgery! It is a stretch, but I am hoping with good eating, exercising, and some help from the liquid diet before surgery I can do it! wishes..................257..................242..................227..................15

Chicken??
I always like buying a low carb dressing like balsalmic or italian and just letting the chicken marinate in the fridge overnight, and then baking it. It is always really juicy that way. I always eat italian dressing chicken thighs with things like green beans or spinach.

Looking to make the 20 somethings forum active
I really enjoy reading this forum. I am so happy to have so many great people talking about their journeys! @jcollins510: Congrats! I am really starting to get excited/impatient. Only 1 month until I submit to insurance, and two until I have surgery!

labs done
What levels are getting checked exactly?

Need some opinions
I think I agree with Nancy. It is his surgery too, and if he wants to share that, it is his prerogative. However, I know you do not want to share it, so just say you are both following the same plan and it is also helping you lose weight.

6 Month Supervised Dieters
You know, I am sure there is quite a few of us going through this process right now. Yet, I have not communicated with more than a couple in the last four months! How are my fellow 6MPSWL pre-op friends doing? Any comments? Vents? Things that are working for you right now? I am going to be going into my fifth month starting July 1st, and I am super excited! That means only 1 month left after that. However, it hasn't been easy at all. I have been stalled for the last month, and cutting out carbs has been a.... trial. I have slowly start incorporating exercise, but I am not the best at it. But I also have started a Vitamin regimen and that has been really helpful in making me feel better throughout the day.

Thin on the outside, still fat on the inside??
I understand that one. I have been obese my entire life. How can I see myself any other way? However, what someone else mentioned is one the best pieces of advice ever, have supportive people around you to help build your confidence and self-esteem. This is called a journey for a reason. You will be going through physical, mental, and emotional changes, but you can get through it and be the person you want to be.

Doctor's
My PCP has always been really supportive of me trying to lose weight, and she has watched me try diet after diet after diet. And when I broached the subject about WLS, she was very supportive then too. I love my PCP. I am so sad that I am going to be losing her when I move.

Cigna
For me it is only six consecutive visits any time during the six months.
