  1. This is my biggest fear. I have a few wigs already because I think that they're fun, but I don't know how I would feel if I thought that I HAD to wear them. The last time I lost so much weight so rapidly (on Optifast), one of my employees asked me very seriously if I had cancer. I didn't even lose any hair that time! I can only imagine how much my office would worry if I started losing my hair in addition to rapidly losing weight.
  2. I'm sorry to be this person, especially in such a helpful post, but I think you mean "phlegming" not "fleming".
  3. Haha awww, I hope you make it through the antibiotics quickly.
  4. This is only slightly related to the post, but I have a tiny bump on one of my incisions that looks kind of like a pimple, only without the pimply stuff inside of it. It's been itching, so today I decided to give it a closer look. I noticed that it felt like something scratchy was barely poking out of it, but it didn't look like anything was sticking out. I used a pair of tweezers on it to pull at the invisible scratchy thing and it turned out to be a piece of clear, unabsorbed stitch! No more itching. I'm glad that it's gone because it's been causing that incision to heal more poorly than the rest. That scar is visibly raised while the others are much more flat. I started with Scar Away Patches today to hopefully get them to fade a bit. /CSB Oh, and to answer the question about capsules... my doctor had me take them apart for the first two weeks and mix the insides in a little applesauce or yogurt. Now I can swallow them just fine so I swallow them.
  5. I lose better when I count calories. Counting carbs never did me any good at all. Right now I don't count anything because I can barely eat anything. I do try to make protein the bulk of my food (cottage cheese, greek yogurt, eggs), but I eat cream of wheat and mashed potatoes too. It doesn't seem to be negatively impacting my weight loss. I bought bananas last night to try when they ripen enough. I'm planning to avoid bread, pasta, and tortillas for as long as possible simply because I've never had any self control with those foods. Same with peanut butter. Peanut butter is my kryptonite.
  6. Congratulations! Great job!
  7. I wish you the very best and a speedy recovery. See you on the other side!
  8. I've found Lactaid cottage cheese here in San Diego. I don't shop at Ralph's so it was either at Albertson's on Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa, Sprouts in El Cajon, Henry's in La Mesa, or Von's in Rancho San Diego.
  9. I called my doctor and he prescribed vicodin. I should be fine now.
  10. I hated life right after surgery and I still hate life on any given day, but I know that I made the right decision for myself. Try reading this thread and this one for stories from sleevers who had a hard time, but are happy now.
  11. I took Advil last night and my doctor prescribed me Tramadol for pain, so now I'm having a mini-heart attack. Have I done serious damage to myself? I'm calling my doctor now. Edit: Actually I looked and Tramadol is a non-narcotic pain med, but not an NSAID so it shouldn't hurt me. I am having an allergic reaction to it though, so I'm trying to get it switched out to something else. I'm waiting on a call back from my doctor's office. I didn't know that I wouldn't be able to take Advil anymore. It's my go-to pain reliever.
  12. I was in a lot of pain and was sent home with non-narcotic pain meds so basically I just hurt all the time. I'm a giant crybaby when it comes to pain, and I was weak from lack of food and lack of fluids, so I really needed my husband to help me for the first week.
  13. Does anyone have a link to a news story about this? Every search I do sends me to other message boards, but no one seems to have a link.
  14. Congratulations! Your hard work is really paying off!
  15. It's a story from Daily Fail. No wonder it's tacky.
  16. Eating was every bit that slow for me and I was sleeved only 2 days before you were. It's better for me now, but I'm still very limited in what I can tolerate: yogurt, cream of wheat, cottage cheese, and sometimes scrambled eggs or mashed potatoes. Two or three days ago, I felt like I was back at square 1 because not even yogurt went down easily and yesterday I had a really hard time with it as well. So far today, I've only managed a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese and a tiny bit of gatorade. It hurts for some reason after a couple of sips. The gurgling has lessened for me, but it's still very much there. I can look back on my progress though and I know that things have improved, so I believe that they will only continue to get better. Don't give up! It isn'
  17. My doctor requires at least two weeks and then you can start integrating regular food as tolerated. I'm probably going to do at least three weeks of mushies. I'm afraid of solids.
  18. I have Zofran too and I love it. Mine are the regular tablets that you take with a sip of water (they're tiny), not the sublingual ones.
  19. Way to go on your 30 lbs weight loss! That would make anyone a believer haha.
  20. Congrats! Glad you're feeling better.
  21. I was informed by Alex that the ability to edit posts doesn't last forever, so I have to copy/paste to update the list now. If you would like, I can put this into an entirely new post to make things easier.
  22. Thank you! Good luck on your upcoming sleeve.
  23. cool. I'll have to try this when I'm a bit further out.
