  1. I can totally relate. How long is your liquid stage? I'm on creamy starting tomorrow and I can't wait to have some cream of wheat. Lol I can't have eggs until next Saturday. Popsicles and naps help alot!
  2. I'm in the same boat. I think the antibiotic is giving me diarrhea and nausea. Im spitting up foam too....feels nasty!
  3. I do have a dropper and try to squirt it fast but the taste is just pungent. I'll force to get it down, but seriously, the nausea from that is really the worst part.
  4. Wow, that seems like a lot of liquid! I didn't have a pre op diet. Post op is 5 days of liquids, then 5 days of creamy followed by soft foods. Good luck to you!
  5. Hi everyone, I'm on day 4 post op and I'm gagging on my liquid antibiotic (omnicef). I swear it tastes like vomit. I can tolerate the pain meds because they taste like cough syrup. I just don't know how long I will last on this antibiotic (I'm supposed to do it for 10 days ). Worse thing is that I'm also allergic to phenergan, so I can't do much for the nausea. I seriously wish time would go by faster! Are there people out there that didn't need antibiotics afterward?
  6. Dang, that's great just having one incision!! Right now I have 6 band aids, which I'm assuming is 6 incisions. Hope your recovery goes smooth.
  7. Lmao Melissa! I guess I don't feel that bad now.
  8. I hope it all went well !!!
  9. Had my band yesterday, everything went well and they fixed a hernia I didn't know I had. After I woke up I felt really wet. I found out that I had peed myself! I was so embarrassed having to tell the nurse. Ugh. She had me sit in a chair while she stripped me bed and sprayed it down. They did the barium test then I was out the door. Seriously, my surgery was at 830 am and I was out at 1055 am. I'm pretty sure its because I peed the bed! LOL Did anybody else do that?
  10. I just had my surgery this morning. In recovery I was about a level 5 and they gave me extra morphine for the ride home. That brought the pain down to a 2. Once home I slept off the morphine and woke up in about a 7 pain level, mostly to my left shoulder and upper back. I took the liquid lortab, slept again, and now 3 hrs after my pain level is about a 5, but I have to wait 3 more hours before I can re dose. Pain to the shoulder is getting slightly better but now my tummy feels like its been run over. I also had a hernia repair, so I don't know how much of a difference that makes with pain levels. Oh, and I usually have a medium threshold with pain.
  11. Ok, I got a little bit more than four hours of sleep and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm already at the surgery center and waiting for the nurse to start on me. Surprisingly I am calm. The receptionist told me that they have had 16 year olds get banded! Seems crazy to me.
  12. Thanks guys, I appreciate the support! I just wish I wasn't so wound up and could get some sleep!!
  13. Congrats driso! Sounds like everything went smoothly! Meanwhile, I'm supposed to be at the surgery center in 7 hrs and I'm still wide awake. Lol! Can't wait to be on the other side.
  14. I thought I'd make myself a list of all the things I won't miss after I get this band and get myself looking good. 1. Having to stretch my shirts out once I put them on to make them more comfortable. 2. Not getting on a plane for fear that I will need an extender or worse yet have an airline employee tell me I need to buy 2 seats. 3. Buying something off the rack and assume it fits, then getting home and finding out its too tight! 4. Feeling self conscious of people looking at my grocery cart when shopping. 5. Having men look the other way, or not looking at me in the eye for fear that they will somehow unknowingly attract the fat girl. Sorry dudes, I'm married, you can look me in the eye now!
  15. Ok, by this time tomorrow, I will be "under the knife". I am so very anxious right now!! I'm at work and can't concentrate a lick! Last night I had to take some benadryl just to get me some sleep. I picked up my post-op pain meds/antibiotics this morning. Thankfully my surgeon writes his patients the prescriptions prior to the surgery so that I don't have to worry about going to the pharmacy on the way home from being banded, Also, yesterday I bought my self an Xbox 360 with the kinnect, so once I heal I can start doing the Dance Central game & burn some calories the fun way! Good luck tomorrow too dejastar!
  16. Lmao, I'm taking the Syntrax nectar in fuzzy navel. Its not too bad once you mix it with ice. I can't stand the ones that try to mimic a milk shake, blech.
  17. Congrats to you! Im very anxious to get this done. It's a surreal feeling.
  18. I'm just bringing myself, my wallet and my husband. I figure I'll just wear the same clothes I come in.
  19. I'm assuming your family doesn't know about the surgery? I hope you feel up to going. Just lounge in a chair with a cold drink and pretend that you are stuffed.
  20. I have a 2 yr old at home, so I understand where you are coming from. I also was diagnosed with diabetes, high cholesterol and a fatty liver last fall and I am in my early 30s! I don't want to be the fatty mommy anymore or drop dead of a heart attack before my baby girl is fully grown. I want to be her healthy role model. If you decide to do this, do it for you and use it as a tool. Who knows what your neighbor is doing behind closed doors. Make this work for you. I wish my band was fully covered! Good luck with whatever you decide!
  21. I'm going to be banded the day before you. I didn't have a pre-op diet, so I imagine that I will lose a lot of Water weight the 1st month. Are you on a preop diet? Also, I will avoid all 4th of July bbqs. I think you have a legit reason not to make an appearance. Good luck!
  22. Oh gosh, I don't ever want to eat around my band! I'm a self-pay; if I fail this for myself I will be forced to kick my own butt!
  23. Driso, I don't have any preop diet! Surgeon just said to try to get used to Protein shakes the weeks leading to my surgery but that I could eat whatever I want. I've been trying not to overeat at all b/c I don't want to have a huge liver. The surgery center called me today and said I should drink 8 glasses of Water the day before and not eat anything after midnight. She also said that the minimum they hold patient's in recover is an hour. My surgery is at 830am, I wonder when they will give me the boot! lol
