  1. Maybe you are not eating enough. Just a thought.
  2. I had trouble with office chair. Took heating pad to work because I cannot take narcotic pain meds while on duty. Did that for 3 weeks post op. Better now. I'm going into 5th week.
  3. have a heating pad handy, just in case
  4. I broke my plateau weight of 172 this morning. 171.2! Yea! First time I've seen that in probably 5 years. Came close 3 years ago but yo-yo'd my way back up. Let's savor these moments.
  5. How's everyone doing? Shauna, Lisa, all of you? I'm stalled at 172, my nemesis weight through the past 10 years. I know once I break through the plateau I will be ok but I'm frustrated right now. For some perverse reason my body thinks this weight is right for me. Ugh... Looking forward to my first fill. Hope you all are doing well.
  6. Give your body a break. Napping isn't a bad thing - you are doing your body a favor. It took me around 3 weeks to get back to my usual self. I'm at 1 month post op today and feel completely better. I'm sure you'll be back to your usual self, probably even more energetic, in a few weeks. In the meantime, enjoy the naps.
  7. Good work! I have a fabulous pair of nike windpants that I finally had shortened so I can wear properly - they were only gone for 5 days - but I put them on today and my keys were literally pulling them off my rear end! Guess it is time to retire the xl nike pants and find a pair of loose-fit large pants. You know they have been my favorite pants through 40+ pounds of weight loss/gain but I'm not sad to retire them. We should all salute our bigger clothes for their faithful service and retire them well. BY GOING SHOPPING!
  8. Will pray for you both. Please take care of yourself so you can be strong for the coming days.
  9. Amy, sorry about the PBing. I am having the worst day because my digestive track is way off kilter. My daughter is sick too, so wondering if I have another bout of stomach flu coming. Glad I haven't had fill yet. Ugh...
  10. Amy, how's the infection doing? Hopefully antibiotics are killing it... Finally got the 4 pounds of water/bloating off me again, back at 172 pounds. I still feel almost no restriction. Haven't lost any weight since hitting 172, but I also know that 172 has always been a MAJOR plateau for me. I have always had trouble at this weight. But, I have lost some more fat around my middle, so maybe my body is morphing into a more efficient machine. I HOPE. I swear, I am under 1000 calories per day. Oh, and any of you who live in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area: I'm doing the 9-11 5K on September 10. Any band buddies want to join me?
  11. Try getting spanx during nordstrom half yearly sale. It is how I got mine. I wore spanx from anywhere in the 185 pounds down to 149 pounds. I got the "higher power" spanx that has thigh, hip, tummy, and back roll control to the bra line. Even at my skinniest, the spanx helps create a smoother silouette (sorry to butcher spelling). I don't work for spanx but wish I had purchased stock because my business alone probably helped boost them!
  12. LOL! My old screen name! Guess I remembered my first account credentials after all! How did ads get there?
  13. Yes. My doctor told me that my TOM could be erratic for a month or two after surgery. Told me to be careful reference birth control (we use it anyway) in light of that.
  14. I found ads on one of my posts from yesterday, and I don't do that shady advertising stuff... wonder what's going on.
  15. I usually pull the restaurant server aside and tell them about the band. So far, I have received major discounts at buffets, etc., and I know they look at my plates. One asked me "is that all you can eat?" and I said "no, but it is all that I want to." I was so proud of myself. I used to be able to kill the buffet and felt the need to get my $23 worth of food. Now, I feel better when I eat less. The smaller bill is a benefit, too!
  16. Heck no! Anyone who has gone through being banded knows this is not the easy way out. I've had to learn more about myself and my body (and food!) over the past two months than I did in the 30 years before that. So, no, I'm not a fraud, neither are you. NOW, if you are preachy and judgmental of overweight people after the banding, then you're a fakey hater and should be ashamed. I'm grateful I had the resources to have this procedure, but a lot of people don't have the resources to do this.
  17. I am completely bloated right now! There's no way I have consumed enough calories (and I know I have been burning them!) to gain 4 pounds in one week! UGH!!!
  18. I'm way off wagon. Between late night hunger and my vacation, I'm up 3 pounds. I know I'm completely freaking out even though I know it is water weight from TOM and constipation, but the fact that I haven't lost in two weeks is enough to tell me I'm off track. I'm back in town and tomorrow I'm back to my routine. I'm so angry at myself! I'm so burned out after the big push I made to lose weight before surgery! What if I can't get it back together?
  19. I ask for bread not to come or I push to far end of table. I love bread, so I completely sympathize.
  20. I do the Outback. They have a great online calories calculator that will keep you honest. Half a sirloin, steamed veggies and half a salad is a nice meal, and my inner cheapskate loves ordering an entree that lasts across 2 meals!
  21. I've been having a problem with hunger at 10 PM. And, it has been when I've been out of town without my handy fridge that I keep stocked with high-protein food and low calorie snacks. So I haven't lost any weight since last week. I haven't gone for my first fill yet. I'm so worried this is how it is going to stay!
  22. I'm going to Lancaster, PA, today and am meeting up with my mother-in-law at a hotel. we are taking whole crew to Dutch Wonderland. I'm super worried about getting too tired to have a good time. I'm 3.5 weeks post op but still not quite 100 percent back to being my usual self.
  23. I kept all my smaller bras from when I weighed 23 pounds less than I do right now. Smallest is 36D.
  24. I'm in my 36F right now, down from 40F. I could totally love having D cups again.
